Background / History

The Azure Divine Palace was an ancient force divided into nine attribute-aligned branch palaces. It was destroyed during a battle at the end of the ancient era; the Five Elements Emperor Venerable and the Palace Masters of the Nine Branch Palaces perished, leaving behind guardians, inheritances, and the lingering spirit of the Thick Earth Palace Master. The enemies responsible were not identified to Su Mo at that time. 393 394

For generations after its destruction, the palace appeared within the Azure Divine Realm once every three years, offering trials and inheritances to geniuses from the Eastern Continent. Attempts by powerful martial artists to forcibly occupy or uncover the palace's secrets ended in death; rumors held that even Emperor-level experts had fallen there. 380

When the palace appeared again, Su Mo passed its trials and was selected as Holy Son and future Palace Master. He inherited the Great Chaos Five Elements Divine Art, received the Holy Token, and was entrusted with reviving the palace. 393 394

Su Mo formally succeeded as Palace Master after recovering from the Yellow Springs Nether Poison Water. He subsequently restructured the Nine Palaces, accepted outside members into its inheritance system, and began restoring the organization on a massive scale. 1038 1040

Restoration under Su Mo

After formally becoming Palace Master, Su Mo appointed Si Kongyan, Wenren Tiandu, and Cai Yun to branch-palace leadership. He also abolished the former restriction that barred people from subordinate forces from inheriting the Nine Palaces' lineages. 1038 1039 1040

The palace integrated members of the Azure Vault Sect, Demon Horn Clan, Demon Horn Sect, Sky Horizon Pavilion, and other groups. Rise as the Azure World's central power

The palace attracted survivors rescued by Su Mo, who sought both protection and revenge against the Yellow Springs Demonic Sect and Yin Yang Divine Palace. It later accepted the submission of major Azure World factions, which paid annual Spirit Stones and resources in exchange for cultivation methods, martial skills, and access to its treasure lands. 1116 1161
