Society and Organization
Main Lineage and Branches

| Lineage | Base | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Main lineage | Tianwu Star | The tribe's principal base; Tianwu Mountain is its sacred land 1688 |
| Tianming Star branch | Tianming Star | Controlled an estimated 30 billion members; Tianming Holy City and nine Guard Cities contained most of its experts 1269 |

| Hualing Star branch | Hualing Star | One of the three major branch lineages 1171 1697 |
The Tianming Star branch maintained a strict territorial chain of command: small towns answered to cities, cities answered to the Nine Guard Cities, and Tianming Holy City governed the branch as a whole 1316.
Leadership
- Clan Leader — Commands a lineage; all Witch Tribe families, regardless of size, owe allegiance to their branch Clan Leader 1273.
- Priests and High Priests — Senior authorities with access to forbidden sorcery. The Tianming branch had a branch leader and four High Priests, each at the Martial Saint realm 1270.
- Core elders — Elite leaders who may possess Soul Honoring Banners and wear the tribe's formal insignia 1291 1394.
- Young Chieftain / Young Master — A prestigious core position selected through trials; the holder stands below only the core elders within the Tianming branch 1292 1309.
Every five years, the Tianming branch selects Young Masters for focused cultivation under its Martial Saint realm Priests. After fifty years, these Young Masters become core elders 1275.

- After occupying True Witch Star, the tribe refined one billion dead spirits and ten billion Yin Souls 2101.
Great Curse Technique
The Great Curse Technique is a taboo form of Witch Tribe forbidden sorcery. During the conflict with the Three Gods Sect, Ancestor Jiashen was stated to be the only known member of the tribe capable of using it 1805.
- Demon Sealing God Binding Curse — Placed on Su Mo by Ancestor Jiashen; it manifests when the victim attempts a cultivation breakthrough, obstructing advancement and potentially proving fatal 1805.
History
Azure World Trial
A thousand Tianming Star branch geniuses entered the Azure World through a space passage. They regarded the world as weak and beneath them, but were ordered by Wu Tianyu to complete two objectives: gather high-level Martial Souls and locate the descendants of their High Priest 1171.
The trialists initially deployed across the Azure World, with roughly 700 under Wu Tianyu and Wu Xian moving to confront Su Mo and the Azure Divine Palace at the Sea of Death 1172. Their confidence collapsed after Su Mo's resistance; the trialists suffered severe losses and retreated to wait out the trial period 1182 1185.
By the end of the trial, Wu Xian had been captured and more than 900 Witch Tribe geniuses had died, causing the Tianming Star branch to launch an extensive search for Su Mo and Qin Budai 1270.
Infiltration of the Tianming Star Branch
To rescue Hong Qingxuan and gather intelligence, Su Mo infiltrated the Tianming branch by body-snatching Wu Chen, an orphaned Witch Tribe member of Black Obsidian City 1273.
As Wu Chen, Su Mo:
- Defeated numerous Witch Tribe geniuses in the martial arena 1283 1286.
- Entered the Young Chieftain selection as a candidate 1290.
- Defeated the Witchman King and became the Tianming branch's new Young Master 1309.
- Used his position to move among Tianming Holy City and the Guard Cities while monitoring the branch's response to attacks on its settlements 1316.
War with Su Mo
The Witch Tribe destroyed the Azure World in retaliation for Su Mo's actions, killing its inhabitants 1270. This massacre became a central cause of the lasting enmity between the tribe and Su Mo's allies.
Su Mo later retaliated by attacking Tianwu Star and Tianming Star. His forces destroyed cities and towns, while Su Mo used the Devouring Battle Soul to eradicate entire settlements 1695 1696 1697. Reports attributed the deaths of approximately 20 million Witch Tribe members to these attacks, prompting the tribe to offer a bounty of 10,000 Peak-grade Spirit Crystals for information leading to Su Mo 1700.
The tribe subsequently besieged the Three Gods Sect on Sanyuan Star to seize Su Mo. Clan Leader Wujing, Ancestor Jiashen, and Wuchong jointly assaulted the Nine Heavens God Slaying Array, but withdrew after the arrival of Li Tongtian 1799 1802 1804.
Collapse of the Ancient Spirit Star River Foundation
Su Mo and his allies later struck the main lineage and its branches directly. The attacks targeted Tianwu Star, Tianming Star, Cangyun Star, and Hualing Star 1996.
- The main lineage defended Tianwu Star with the Myriad Souls Sealing Heaven Formation 1997.
- Ancestor Jiashen ordered all members to scatter and flee after the formation fell and he could not defeat Su Mo 2000.
- Su Mo declared that the main lineage and all three major branches had been erased, with their foundations destroyed across the four stars 2004.
- The Witch Tribe nevertheless retained surviving members and powerful experts, including those on the Divine Path 2004.
Re-establishment on True Witch Star
Seven Witch Tribe great powers later restored the tribe's foundation in the Ancient Spirit Star River, expanding its influence from True Witch Star 2095. The rebuilt tribe allied with the True Demon Race against Su Mo and the Dragon Clan 2101 2105.
When Su Mo prepared another attack, Bone Spirit evacuated the Witch Tribe from True Witch Star using a Spatial Treasure Artifact in an effort to preserve the tribe's remaining foundation 2131.
Later Subjugation and Recovery
In the Li Tian Domain, Witch Tribe powers became servants of the Soul Clan and were required to provide regular contributions. The Heavenly Soul Divine Palace generally did not interfere in conflicts between Witch Tribe factions as long as contributions continued 2972.
The Soul Clan later abolished the Witch Tribe's slave status and elevated its standing to equal that of the Soul Clan within the Heavenly Soul Source World 3304 3314. This change allowed Witch Tribe factions such as Yun Tian Sect to consolidate influence across the Li Tian Domain 3009.
