Background / History

Madara was once Hashirama Senju’s closest friend and rival. He later became estranged from Hashirama and left Konoha after the Uchiha clan chose the security of the village rather than following him. He continued to view the Uchiha and Senju as bloodlines with exceptional potential, capable of producing the powerful figures needed to shape the world. 144 167

Before his later revival, Madara had been misled by Black Zetsu’s alterations to the Uchiha stone tablet and had pursued the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Shiraishi reveals the history of Kaguya Otsutsuki, the Otsutsuki clan, Black Zetsu’s manipulation, and the true nature of the Ten-Tails and White Zetsu. Madara accepts that his earlier plan was built on deception, but retains the goal of acquiring Six Paths power and reshaping the world through absolute strength. 124 150

Shiraishi revives Madara by removing Minato Namikaze’s soul and inserting Madara’s soul into Minato’s body. Madara inherits Minato’s memories and publicly acts as the Fourth Hokage while quietly replacing him. 124 142

Personality

Madara is proud, severe, and openly convinced that the strong and gifted should lead. He considers clan pride without individual accomplishment worthless, dismisses many Uchiha as short-sighted, and believes a surname gains glory from the people who elevate it rather than from its history. 136

He is not indiscriminately bloodthirsty; he disdains attacking opponents he considers too weak to be worth the effort. However, he responds ruthlessly to betrayal, resistance, and political obstacles, relying on fear and overwhelming force to impose order. 139 211

Madara’s ambition is driven partly by the looming Otsutsuki threat. He believes division between villages, nations, and mercenary ninja systems perpetuates war, and concludes that a unified world ruled by himself is the only durable path to peace. 140 147 250

Appearance

While inhabiting Minato Namikaze’s body, Madara’s presence is marked by a dramatically changed temperament and golden hair. In consciousness spaces, he appears in his original form wearing Warring States armor. After becoming the Ten-Tails’ Jinchuriki, he transforms with white hair, white skin, and a white robe resembling that of the Sage of Six Paths. 124 142 144 264
