Background / History
Huo Qubing emerged from the tomb of the Champion Marquis as a young ancient cultivator with exceptionally heavy killing intent. Recognized as the historical Champion Marquis who led cavalry deep into the desert and terrified alien races, he immediately pledged himself to Jiang Ran's cause: hunting alien races until his last drop of blood. Jiang Ran accepted him and brought him into Kui. 117
His cultivation had declined after the Abyssal Void's closure, but he retained formidable combat ability and adapted quickly to modern life. After receiving a smartphone from Jiang Ran, he rapidly learned to use it, followed news about the Wisdom King, and became outspoken online. 117 140
Appearance
Huo Qubing is a youthful-looking man with crimson-gold eyes and a bold, energetic bearing. His original armor was replaced with a black tracksuit to avoid drawing attention in the modern world. 117
- Often wears a frost-white Nuo Opera Mask marked by crimson patterns during combat. 145 170
- Has been seen fighting with improvised weapons, including steel rebar and a bamboo broom used as a spear. 119 134
- Was left with an injured, bandaged eye after later battles, though he remained energetic. 184
Personality
Huo Qubing is battle-hungry, direct, and intensely confident in his own combat ability. He does not fear dangerous opponents; instead, he treats them as chances to test himself and improve. During the fight against the Peng Snake, he entrusted the heavenly treasure's protection to Jiang Ran and focused solely on killing the Great Demon. 120 136
Despite his arrogance and sharp tongue, he is practical about survival. He teaches weaker Transcendents to exploit monster weaknesses, conserve blood energy, ambush whenever possible, and prioritize survival over martial honor. 119
He is also eager to recruit capable fighters for Kui, partly because his divine ability requires a large cavalry force to reach its full potential. His confidence in Jiang Ran is unwavering; he willingly drew a Deity's attention away from Jiang Ran because he believed the Wisdom King could kill it. 120 202
