Background / History

Sabo grew up amid the hypocrisy and cruelty of Goa Kingdom’s nobility, developing a lasting hatred for inherited privilege and oppression. He joined Ace and Luffy on Mt. Colubo, where the three formed a brotherly bond through training, hunting, and fighting together. At thirteen, Sabo and Ace rescued the captured Luffy from Bluejam’s forces, dividing the enemy while protecting their younger brother 4.

While preparing to leave the East Blue, Sabo handled practical matters for the group. He commissioned a small, fast, comfortable ship with the treasure taken from Bluejam’s lair, agreeing to a four-year construction period and paying eighty million Beli 6 7. At seventeen, he and Ace departed Foosha Village aboard the Eclipse, leaving Luffy behind to begin his own journey later 8.

On a deserted island, Sabo refined the Mera Mera no Mi with Haki. His relentless effort to keep pace with Ace had left chronic injuries throughout his body, but Ace healed them with Vermilion Bird Divine Fire before the brothers spent two months training their Devil Fruit abilities together 11. Early Eclipse Campaigns

Sabo defended the crew at Baratie by killing the Lubneel Kingdom’s prince, his guards, and Blood Blade Gal after they threatened Ace and Carina 19. He later defeated Vice Admiral Momonga after awakening flowing Armament Haki, fought Wyper in Upper Yard, and defeated CP0 vice-captain Vogel after revealing Conqueror’s Haki 45 64 93.

Growth into the Flame Dragon

Dressrosa Administration

Wano and the Aramaki Battle

During the war against Kaido’s forces, Sabo led the rescue of Wano’s Seastone craftsmen from Admiral Aramaki. After ensuring the Dwarf Special Agent Squad had evacuated the captives, he used Wind-Thunder-Fire Tri-Phase techniques and advanced Conqueror’s Haki to wound Aramaki and force his retreat 333 334.

Mary Geoise War

Sabo held Saint Shamrock in a prolonged battle, using Conqueror’s coating to interfere with Shamrock’s regeneration and fighting Cerberus alongside Little Pink 421 423.
