Background / History

Tang San grew up in Holy Soul Village with his younger biological brother, Tang Liu, and their father, Tang Hao. The brothers lived in the village’s only blacksmith shop, where Tang San cooked, handled household tasks, and regularly looked after the physically frail Tang Liu. 1

Although Tang Hao was cold and neglectful, Tang San remained patient with him. He asked to learn blacksmithing so he could help support the family, and later trained under Tang Hao in forging and the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer. 2 5

At his martial-soul awakening, Tang San manifested Blue Silver Grass and tested as having Innate Full Soul Power. He also concealed a Clear Sky Hammer in his left hand, making him a twin-martial-soul wielder. 2 5

Tang San entered Notting Academy alongside Tang Liu and accepted Grandmaster as his teacher. When Martial Soul Hall began searching for Tang Liu, Tang San cooperated with Grandmaster to mislead Su Yuntao and protect his brother’s secrets. 6 11 13

After years apart, Tang San reunited with Tang Liu during the Shrek Academy entrance assessment. He fought alongside Tang Liu, Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and Ning Rongrong against Zhao Wuji, ultimately earning admission to Shrek Academy. 43 45

Tang San later learned that his Blue Silver Grass was the bodily inheritance of the Blue Silver Emperor. He is also patient and dutiful. Despite Tang Hao’s behavior, Tang San continues caring for him and seeks blacksmithing skills to contribute to the household. 1 2

When necessary, Tang San is capable of quick deception and strategic restraint. He improvises a false story about Tang Liu’s condition to divert Martial Soul Hall’s investigation and follows Grandmaster’s lead to keep Tang Liu safe. 11 13

Tang San remains composed in life-threatening situations. He prepared Yama’s Invitation when confronted by Ghost Douluo, concealed Tang Liu’s assistance against the Man Faced Demon Spider, and attempted to restrain his anger when Feng Xiaotian provoked him during the tournament. 70 169 176
