• Awakening can manifest as an animal-type, weapon-type, plant-type, or Body Martial Soul 390.

Body Martial Souls

Body Martial Souls can be exceptionally powerful because they are directly tied to the user's body. The more vital the manifested body part is, the greater the Martial Soul's potential; eyes are linked to perception and the brain, while the Brain Martial Soul is described as an even higher-tier spiritual attribute 181 560.

Plant Martial Souls

Plant Martial Souls vary greatly in rank. Although Blue Silver Grass is commonly dismissed as weak, higher-grade plant Martial Souls can possess nobility, suppression effects, and extraordinary potential. A Martial Soul's quality can determine whether it suppresses another Martial Soul in battle 161.

Soul Rings and Soul Skills

Soul Rings are attached to Martial Souls to grant Soul Skills. A Soul Master's body limits the age of Soul Ring it can safely absorb, making physical strength and compatibility essential to cultivation 4 9.

• Soul Beasts are a standard source of Soul Rings; the user must kill or otherwise obtain power from a suitable Soul Beast before absorption 9 488.
• Soul Ring selection shapes a Soul Master's capabilities. A Spirit Cat granted Tang Liu's Ethereal Defense, while a Demon Eye Demon Tree granted group-oriented Ethereal Stealth 9 28.

• Soul Rings can be improved through exceptional methods. Contact with a Soul Beast of the same origin can purify a Martial Soul, strengthen the user, and reduce future cultivation bottlenecks 159.

Exceptional Soul Ring Systems

The Haolan Spell is an unprecedented exception: it generates and cultivates its own blue-black Soul Rings rather than requiring its wielder to hunt Soul Beasts for them 12 82. Its existence allowed Tang Liu to bear unusually advanced rings on his other Martial Soul at an early stage 82.

Multiple Martial Souls

A Soul Master may possess more than one Martial Soul, though such cases are extraordinary.

Martial Soul Fusion Skills

Martial Soul Fusion Skills are techniques formed by compatible Martial Souls working in concert. Their effects can exceed ordinary Soul Skills and may combine multiple users' Soul Power and Mental Power 189 202.

• Tang San's Blue Silver Grass and Tang Liu's Ethereal Blue Silver Emperor formed a fusion skill capable of withering and dismantling Demon Charm; when Tang Liu leads the same fusion, its effect changes into comprehensive healing 202.
• Tang San and Tang Liu later fused their Clear Sky Hammers into a massive Eclipse-like attack that shattered the Bipolar Static Domain and devastated Spirit Hall's forces 280.
• Fusion skills can carry severe costs: Tang San and Tang Liu were left immobile and vulnerable after their first fusion skill 202.

Martial Soul Evolution

Martial Souls can develop beyond their initial awakened state through bloodline activation, mutation, compatible Soul Beast power, and cultivation.

• Tang Liu's Ethereal Blue Silver Emperor is the spiritual aspect of Ah Yin's Blue Silver Emperor existence, while Tang San inherited the bodily succession of the Blue Silver Emperor 251.
• Ah Yin's spiritual presence protected Tang Liu through the Ethereal Blue Silver Emperor until she returned to her own body 251.
• A compatible Soul Beast can help a Martial Soul return closer to its original nature, enhancing both quality and cultivation speed 159.
• Dai Yunze's God-Eating Evil-Eyed White Demon Tiger cannot yet fully manifest because his body is unable to withstand its complete power 401.
