Background

The fox originally lived among its kind in the core area of the Star Dou Great Forest. At 99,999 years of cultivation, it left the area to avoid attracting the attention of the Great Fierce Land's inhabitants while approaching its breakthrough. It reached the hundred-thousand-year threshold in the mixed area, then concealed its true cultivation and waited out its vulnerable period among a Jade Spirit Fox clan. 34

Tang Liu located it while seeking a Jade Spirit Fox for his third soul ring. Mistaking its disguise for that of a ten-thousand-year beast, he marked and teleported it away while it slept. 32 33 Tang Hao immediately identified its true level and restrained it, after which the fox offered its newly awakened healing ability to treat Tang Liu's soul-power exhaustion. 33 34

Tang Liu later used the Hao-Lan Mark to place the fox into a deep coma, extract part of its soul-skill power, and create a 15,486-year soul ring through his “Ring Borrowing” method. The extraction caused no apparent harm, and the fox's lost soul power recovered immediately afterward. 34 36

After Tang Liu helped end its weak period, the fox asked to follow him into the human world. Tang Hao accepted on the condition that it swear by the Goddess of Life never to harm Tang Liu and to protect him in danger. 37 38
