Background / History
Draco is the son of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy and heir to the prominent Malfoy family, one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight Pure-blood families. His upbringing leaves him proud of his lineage, status, wealth, and the idea that Malfoys belong at the top of wizarding society 3 7 75.
He first meets Breeze Order at Madam Malkin’s in Diagon Alley. Draco immediately judges Breeze by his worn clothes and presumed Muggle-born status, only to be frightened by Breeze’s red-eyed intimidation trick. Narcissa interrupts the encounter and takes her embarrassed son away 2.
At Hogwarts, Draco initially treats Breeze as an unsettling rival. He privately fears Breeze’s red eyes and power, but begins seeking an understanding with him after offering information and a book on Salazar Slytherin’s possible descendants 18 33. After Breeze uses the Imperius Curse on him, Draco is terrified and furious, yet agrees to help conceal the incident from Snape; their uneasy arrangement develops into genuine friendship 59 100.
Appearance
Draco is a pale, platinum-blond boy with gray eyes. He initially wears his hair slicked back with pomade, a style Breeze repeatedly mocks as unsuitable for him 2 93 110.
- Platinum-blond hair shared by Lucius and Narcissa’s side of the family 3 93
- Pale complexion; visibly flushes when embarrassed or frightened 2
- Gray eyes, often described as proud or nervous when facing Breeze 100
- Prefers polished, aristocratic presentation and later intends to wear his hair long like his father 110
Personality
Draco is arrogant, theatrical, and intensely conscious of the Malfoy name. He frequently mocks Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and those he considers beneath his family’s status. He expects recognition, followers, and special treatment, while framing his self-interest as the natural privilege of a Malfoy 57 62 66.
Beneath the bravado, Draco is cautious around real danger and acutely aware that Breeze is stronger than him. He can be jealous, especially when Breeze excludes him from secrets or cooperates with others, leading to a serious falling-out during their second year 141 142.
His loyalty becomes more substantial over time. Draco accepts Breeze as his first truly trusted friend, opposes Umbridge’s attempt to seize the Illusion Game Club, warns McGonagall about suspicious Slytherin activity, and ultimately chooses Breeze’s side over the extremist Pure-blood faction 100 293 306.

Major Arcs
First-Year Rivalry and Alliance
Draco’s first year begins with his conflict with Breeze and Harry. He attempts to use his family’s knowledge and social position to approach Breeze after hearing rumors that Breeze may descend from Slytherin. His fear of Breeze’s power gradually gives way to an alliance based on secrecy, favors, and mutual benefit 33 59.
Friendship with Breeze
Draco and Breeze explicitly recognize one another as friends during their second year. Draco receives access to Breeze’s secret plans, magical lessons, and alchemical work, while Breeze relies on Draco as his most trusted Slytherin companion 98 100 107.
Conflict, Reconciliation, and Protection
Breeze’s increasing secrecy causes Draco to feel abandoned, and their argument over Breeze involving other people in their plans temporarily separates them 141 142. Their bond survives: Breeze later tends Draco through a fever and rescues him from Voldemort’s possession through the Resurrection Stone ring 146 192.
Illusion Game Champion
Draco becomes a public success through the Illusion Game World Cup. Supported by Lucius and Narcissa, he wins the youth division with his dragon deck and Patronus Charm, earning recognition beyond Slytherin 229.
Choosing Breeze Over Pure-blood Extremism

He stands against Umbridge’s takeover of the Illusion Game Club, keeps McGonagall informed about suspicious activity, and treats Breeze as his primary confidant rather than joining Slytherin’s schemes 293 303 306.
Future of the Malfoy Family
By graduation, Draco no longer simply expects to inherit his family’s old position. He states his intention to make the Malfoy family strong in the changed world, while Breeze encourages him to build a life of his own 343.
