Background / History
Ning Fengzhi was recognized as one of his generation’s foremost leaders. Though weaker in direct combat than figures such as Bibi Dong and Tang Hao, he was regarded as unmatched in wisdom and courage. Under his governance, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect remained orderly, united, and stable through major crises. 41
Twenty years before the events of Chapter 41, Ning Fengzhi met Ye Lingrong. Their relationship conflicted with sect rules requiring direct descendants to marry combat-type soul masters. Rather than abandon Ye Lingrong, betray the sect, or openly violate its rules, he resolved to make the rule obsolete by leading the sect to a level of strength where it was no longer needed. 41
During their sixth year together, Ye Lingrong gave birth to their daughter, Ye Lingling. Soon afterward, Ning Fengzhi reached level 70, but worsening continental tensions compelled him to place Ye Lingrong and Ye Lingling in seclusion to keep them out of political conflicts. 41 42
The sect elders later pressured Ning Fengzhi into a political arrangement with the Clear Sky Sect, resulting in Ning Rongrong’s birth. Ning Fengzhi nevertheless continued to resist the proposed marriage alliance and sought to protect both his sect and his daughters from becoming political tools. 42
Su Yun Tao’s rise gave Ning Fengzhi a powerful prospective ally against Martial Soul Hall. Ning assisted Shui Xinhan’s hunt for the Ice Jade Scorpion King, later accepted Su Yun Tao’s Aromatic Silk Beauty, and committed the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect to finding a hundred-thousand-year fire-attribute soul beast in return. 108 113 180
Personality
Ning Fengzhi is refined, calm, and outwardly courteous, but he is also intensely pragmatic. He rewards and punishes fairly within his sect, prioritizes unity, and makes long-term preparations against threats rather than relying on personal morality or goodwill. 41 113
His courage is most evident when the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect faces overwhelming opponents. He gambled on Su Yun Tao’s future potential while negotiating with Qian Daoliu, believing the sect’s survival required an all-or-nothing wager rather than passive submission. 203 207
After Ye Lingrong, Chen Xin, and Gu Rong died at Jialing Pass, Ning Fengzhi became emotionally numb and lost much of his former vitality. Su Yun Tao later rekindled his ambition by proposing that Ning unify the continent and seek a path to resurrect those he had lost. 238 241 242
His grief and ambition eventually hardened into ruthlessness. During the campaign against the Clear Sky Sect, he exploited their attempted surrender, imposed mutilation as a condition, and ultimately ordered the sect’s annihilation despite its compliance. 244 245 246

Story Role / Major Arcs
Alliance with Skywater Academy
Ning Fengzhi dispatched Chen Xin and Gu Rong to assist Shui Xinhan’s hunt for the ninety-thousand-year Ice Jade Scorpion King. Though Shui Xinhan offered two soul bones and eighty million Gold Soul Coins, Ning also recognized the importance of maintaining relations with Su Yun Tao and his allies. 108 109
Nine Treasures Evolution and Anti–Martial Soul Hall Strategy
After accepting the Aromatic Silk Beauty, Ning Fengzhi’s martial soul evolved into the Nine Treasures Glazed Pagoda. He worked with Su Yun Tao to prepare the sect for Martial Soul Hall’s Soul Hunting Operation, strengthen Sword and Bone Douluo, recruit allies, and undermine Martial Soul Hall’s strategic position. 180 181 202
Qian Renxue Hostage Crisis
After Su Yun Tao captured Qian Renxue, Ning Fengzhi used her imprisonment to force Qian Daoliu into a desperate negotiation. He wagered the sect’s future on the race between Su Yun Tao and Qian Renxue to attain godhood, eventually securing Qian Daoliu’s self-mutilation before returning her. 203 207
War Against Martial Soul Hall
As a Titled Douluo, Ning Fengzhi became the central support and strategist of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s forces. He amplified Sword and Bone Douluo, shielded key allies from Bibi Dong, and preserved the sect’s strongest fighters for decisive moments. 218 219 220
At Jialing Pass, he used the Seven Treasure Battle Technique to kill Holy Dragon Douluo Tuoba Xi. Even while exhausted, he prepared to fight to the end when Martial Soul Hall’s reinforcements targeted him directly. 226 236
Loss at Jialing Pass
The deaths of Ye Lingrong, Chen Xin, and Gu Rong shattered Ning Fengzhi emotionally. Though the allied side won the battle, he was left desolate and nearly devoid of ambition. 238 241
Rise of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect
Su Yun Tao persuaded Ning Fengzhi to expand into the power vacuum left by Martial Soul Hall and pursue continental unification. Ning accepted the opportunity to build a new order and seek a path to resurrect his lost companions. 242
Destruction of the Clear Sky Sect
Ning Fengzhi orchestrated a surprise encirclement of Clear Sky Castle, severing its chains and cutting off every route of escape. He relied on aerial superiority, reinforcements, and calculated delays rather than risking unnecessary losses in a direct assault. 243 244
After the Clear Sky Sect’s surrender, Ning Fengzhi demanded that its members sever an arm, then ordered their execution and the destruction of Clear Sky Castle. He justified the massacre as retaliation for the sect’s alleged alliance with the Heaven Dou Imperial Family against his own sect. 245 246 247
