Chimera Pirates Handled Along the Way
Sarah Kerrigan's Psionics has always been very reliable.
As Ghost operative and bodyguard deeply trusted by Augustus, Kerrigan constantly guards Marshal Korhal Revolutionary Army's side, scrutinizing everyone who tries to approach him.
Using her superhuman Psionics abilities, Kerrigan is able to keenly identify and eliminate dangerous individuals who might pose a threat to Augustus. However, Kerrigan is unwilling to admit that Ariel Hansen is actually a greater threat to her.
Kerrigan values her place in Augustus's heart and longs to contribute her strength to his cause.
This Ghost operative, who began Ghost Program training at the age of five, led a life drastically different from that of other Terran Confederacy. She could only learn interpersonal skills from her instructors and other Psionics who were also trained to become Ghost operative.
Because of her upbringing, Kerrigan is not the gentle and refined type of girl. She doesn't know how to be tactful and always points out other people's mistakes bluntly. Kerrigan is like a sharp butcher's knife that cuts open the skin of a cow, exposing the dripping blood to the sunlight.
Any Revolutionary Army who has spoken with Kerrigan finds her to be relatively easy to get along with, but they must adapt to her stern way of speaking. Kerrigan is always quick and to the point when speaking to anyone except Augustus, never beating around the bush, just like a sharp, incisive blade.
Similarly, the instructors at the Confederacy Ghost Academy never teach their students to share with others, and Kerrigan is hopelessly possessive of Augustus, fearing the loss of Augustus as she once did of her family and everything in her past.
"Of course, it all depends on your judgment. If you believe Ariel Hansen has designs on me, then you should keep her out," Augustus said, glancing back at Kerrigan.
"You've always been in charge of protecting me, and you've always done a great job. I trust you completely, and that trust will never change," he said.
Augustus spoke, he caught up with Bernard, who was about to ask him for more information about the Korhal immigrants.
"Kerrigan, I know you're Psionics, able to read other people's minds." After Augustus left, Raynor whispered to Kerrigan, "I bet you would have gone crazy if you had come with us to the Tarsonis Old Families's banquet last time."
"Because it's full of beautiful noble ladies and young women who want to 'eat' Augustus, it's like a bunch of demons," Raynor said with lingering fear. "But Ariel Hansen is just a little girl, how could she be scary? She's just a girl from a remote immigrant area, not a man-eating monster."
"Do you think Ariel is simple?" Kerrigan said. "My Psionics abilities tell me she's a biological genius who inherited her parents' talents."
Ariel Hansen was considered an undisputed genius from a young age. By the age of six, she was already engrossed in her father's old digital chemistry books. At eleven, Ariel published her first research report on the effects of mutated genes on rare plants in Trabilia. By thirteen, Ariel had completed all her university courses and received an acceptance letter from the University of Tarsonis on the main planet University of Tarsonis before graduating.
"Ariel is a genius in bioengineering. She's only 13 years old, yet her knowledge surpasses that of many at the Agria Institute," Kerrigan said. "Most importantly, I've noticed that Augustus values Ariel Hansen highly. He seems to know Ariel well and has a fondness for her—almost as if he's met her before, which is very strange."
"So you're getting anxious." At this moment, Harnack Hank, who had been listening behind Raynor, poked his head out.
"Shut up, Hank," Kerrigan said coldly.
"You should know Augustus's charm. Many people are attracted to him. He's young, handsome, and rich. Most importantly, he's a Korhal gentleman and a descendant of a great nobleman, and Tychus is insanely jealous of that." Raynor laughed.
"Maybe I'm overthinking it," Kerrigan, rubbing her hair, making her fiery red hair look messy.
"You know, many in the Revolutionary Army are in Augustus, both men and women— Ariel is no exception, but my Psionics intuition tells me she could very well be another Lisa Cassidy, who is the one Augustus taken a liking to," she said.
"I really didn't know Augustus bisexual." Raynor fell into thought, then eased his embarrassment with a laugh, and continued, "Lisa? You mean the time she called you a mistress?"
"Come on—" Kerrigan rolled her eyes.
Meanwhile, Ariel Hansen, who was following her father, was completely unaware that Kerrigan and the others were talking about her. She was closely following her father and Augustus, listening intently to every word they said.
Augustus and Bernard walked for a few minutes along the pretty white gravel path in the settlement, and as they walked onto the paved road that ran through the center of the settlement, they saw several gray-white armored personnel carriers parked in the middle of the road.
"These are old-fashioned Confederate Marine Corps heavy armored personnel carriers, which have been in service with the Confederacy for over twenty years. Where did the Korhal find these personnel carriers?" Bernard agreed as soon as he saw the gray-white painted personnel carriers. The last time he saw these personnel carriers was many years ago at the military parade in Tarsonis, the main city.
Bernard's impression of interstellar mercenaries was that they were a group of muscular men wearing security company uniforms or old Confederacy khaki military uniforms, with steel-like muscles and carrying bullet pouches and guns all over their bodies.
But when Bernard saw the hundreds of mercenaries in silver-gray CMC Power Armor marching in formation further away, he even thought for a moment that they were a regular army of the Umojan Protectorate.
These mercenaries, clad in tall, sturdy Power Armor and wielding C-14 Gauss Rifle, resembled towering Giant. Their shoulder and breastplates bore white cross insignia, and their helmet visors were coated with a silver metallic layer.
In addition to Gauss Rifle, these mercenaries were also equipped with demonic plasma flamethrowers, grenade launchers, and melting laser emitters. Between the rows of mercenaries were a dozen electromagnetic tanks modified from Kel-Morian heavy tanks.
The Revolutionary Army's chief engineer Rory Swann, and his team modified the Kel-Morian tanks that Augustus had purchased from Morro, adding the Rattlesnake Tank's electromagnetic railgun. The long-range Sidewinder railgun was incredibly powerful, capable of melting even the most fortified steel bunkers.
The earliest Kel-Morian tanks originated from miners' large bulldozers, and after modifications, they became known for their powerful engines and formidable firepower. From the Confederacy's war trophy museums to the planetary defense forces of the Outer Colonies, from downgraded small tanks to heavy tanks weighing over one hundred tons, these modified Kel-Morian tanks can now be seen throughout most of the Koprulu Sector.
"They have many more units like this," Augustus said, pointing to his soldiers.
"They're all old-fashioned CMC-200 Power Armor, but they're very well maintained. This force should be more than capable of handling any Chimera Pirates raiding Fleets," Augustus. "I've witnessed the Chimera Pirates ' fighting prowess firsthand."
"Not very good," he said.
"These Power Armor alone are something no existing Terran Confederacy mercenary company could produce. I seriously doubt if you've brought in a Confederate Marine Corps." Bernard began to doubt that he was falling behind the times because he was living in the remote region of Agria.
At first glance, Augustus to be just showing off his muscles.
"The Korhal have received support from the Umojan Republic, and now the three leaders of the Koprulu Sector are all aware of this," Augustus told Bernard.
"Moreover, after the end of the Guild Wars, more and more retired soldiers joined mercenaries to profit from the war in another form," Augustus.
"The Korhal's military strength is far greater than you imagine; it's just that they are facing the Confederacy's naval Fleets," Augustus.
Bernard stared at Augustus, and suddenly Augustus's name came to mind.
Caesar Augustus, the Korhal, and numerous armies far exceeding the armed forces of the Agria settlers.
Thinking of the rising fame of the Korhal Revolutionary Army in the past year and the Sons of Korhal terrorist organization that has caused widespread fear through its terrorist activities, Bernard's breath suddenly caught in his throat.
Augustus practically making it clear that he was Augustus Mengsk, the leader of the Korhal Revolutionary Army. Instinctively, Bernard didn't want Agria to be associated with the rebels, but he also couldn't very well inform the Terran Confederacy and seek their help.
Even if the Confederacy army arrives in Agria, they will not hesitate to use this beautiful planet as a battlefield. Even if they eventually expel Augustus's rebels, in accordance with the consistent practices of the Terran Confederacy, they will definitely station troops to control Agria and impose long-term armed control on any colony that has been affected by the rebels.
Ultimately, Bernard didn't believe that Augustus's Revolutionary Army was truly as evil and unforgivable as the UNN claimed; otherwise, Agria would have already fallen.
"You're actually part of the Revolutionary Army, aren't you?" Bernard gave him a look that said, "Don't lie to me."
"I'm just an ordinary Moria merchant," Augustus, "Except that I have a blood feud with the Terran Confederacy."
"Heh--" Bernard smiled knowingly.
"They will provide protection for Agria, shielding Agria from pirates and Confederate Marine Corps. And you will only need to pay a small fee." Augustus smiled as well.
Augustus would naturally leave an army to protect the Korhal immigrants, and the Agria had almost no reason to refuse, as they could not guarantee that the other party would not suddenly turn against them after being refused.
Augustus had already provided considerable information in the conversation: the Korhal settlers were facing severe shortages of food and fuel, meaning they lacked the resources to find another habitable planet or a colony willing to accept them.
"But I just hope the war doesn't reach Agria." Bernard knew that Augustus forcing him to take sides, trying to pull Agria onto his side.
"Agria does not want to be drawn into the war," he said.
"We will provide assistance to the colonists, but only on the condition that Agria does not become a battlefield."
"I swear, I, the people of Korhal, will forever remember Agria's help in our most perilous time." Augustus looked up at the sky, his gaze fixed on the distance.
"In return, I will give the Agria a small gift." Augustus then looked at Bernard.
"I'm all ears." Bernard frowned.
"The mercenary Fleets has detected a Chimera Pirates research station on the edge of the Agria system." Augustus was speaking, a guard took a tattered Chimera Pirates flag from his backpack.
Augustus's choice of words is quite intriguing; mercenary organizations with Fleets are extremely rare in the Koprulu Sector, practically nonexistent.
"The Chimera Pirates established their base on an asteroid in the Agria system to study the ancient ruins of the planet Agria's companion. This is why the Chimera Pirates frequently attack Agria; they have a permanent base in this system and need to obtain supplies from the colonies."
"I've always been puzzled as to why pirate attacks are becoming more and more frequent," Bernard, his face grim.
"Don't worry, we destroyed this Chimera Pirates research station on our way here," Augustus.
"It took about ten minutes," Tychus said calmly, standing beside Augustus.
"The Chimera Pirates have a history with us; we wiped out one of their research stations back in Mar- Sara. Now it seems these bugs have nests in many places in Koprulu," he said.
The Kel-Morian Pirates are far more famous than the tech-savvy Chimera Pirates, but the name itself encompasses all pirates from Kel-Morian, who are loosely organized and often fight amongst themselves, whereas the Chimera Pirates come from a well-structured pirate organization.
In the Koprulu Sector, there is virtually no force that the Chimera Pirates dare not provoke. They are considered traitors to the Umojan and mortal enemies of the Umojan Protectorate. Most importantly, the Chimera Pirates are ruthless characters who dared to attack both the Terran Confederacy and the Kel-Morian Combine simultaneously during the Guild Wars.
The Chimera Pirates are universally hated in the Koprulu Sector, but this does not prevent their power from expanding with war and turmoil.
"After capturing several Chimera Pirates, we learned that they also have several research stations built on the surface of Agria," Augustus said, pointing to the Revolutionary Army soldiers wearing gray-white Power Armor with white cross badges.
"Let them deal with the Chimera Pirates on Agria."
"From this day forward, the Agria Crusaders will be the eternal Preservers of Agria," he said.
"From this moment forward, Agria will be under our protection."
