Dorothy Mengsk
This multi-layered mobile fortress is a strategic weapon of the Umojan Republic. The total area of each layer is equivalent to that of the moon. It contains nuclear weapon silos, physics laboratories, research stations, and several giant shipyards.
When necessary, the massive Umojan mobile base can be moved to other star systems via a hyperspace warp engine. Currently, the Umojan Republic has deployed such fortresses in multiple node star systems, with some fortresses even extending beyond the Koprulu Sector.
Today, not only did Augustus's sister Dorothy and nephew Valerian arrive, but his mother Katherine was also standing and watching him, accompanied by hundreds of security personnel and Umojan soldiers carrying Gauss Rifle.
These Umojan soldiers wore dark blue dress uniforms and pointed caps with pale yellow plumes. Their single-breasted woolen uniforms had the Umojan Republic emblem embroidered in blue and white thread on the chest, and large gold epaulettes on their shoulders.
Each soldier was equipped with AGR Rifle with a bayonet and a rapier with a cage-like arm guard. The soldiers stood tall and proud, their impeccable military bearing leaving Augustus with no fault to speak of.
In addition to Vice Admiral Ion Stamford, whom Augustus had already met, an admiral and two sector commanders from the Umojan Protectorate Navy were also present today.
"Augustus, we all miss you so much." Dorothy Mengsk, lifting her long, floor-length dress, ran to Augustus and hugged her brother tightly.
Eighteen-year-old Dorothy was as beautiful and charming as her mother had been in her youth. Her eyebrows, inherited from the Mengsk Family, added a unique air of heroism to her, and her deep gray eyes were like cut pieces of jade. Dorothy was no longer the little girl her father and brothers had seen, nor the little doll who used to walk around with her toy pony. She had blossomed into a tall, beautiful girl with long legs and cheeks full of youthful collagen.
Dorothy tiptoed, wrapped her arms around her brother's neck, and rubbed her fair, smooth cheek against his face, like a sweet, affectionate cat.
Anyone who thinks Angus and Katherine's daughter is a weak and pampered noblewoman will surely pay the price for their folly. Dorothy Mengsk now controls two-thirds of the Mengsk Family's businesses at her parents' behest, and her talent in management and finance allows her to easily manage the financial empire that originally belonged to the Mengsk family.
Her numerous high-return investments in Umojan quickly proved her exceptional financial acumen; Dorothy was undoubtedly a genius in this field.
Like her father and brothers, Dorothy is a master of swordsmanship and hand-to-hand combat. Even without a sword, Dorothy can take down an ordinary adult male in two moves. If she picks up a weapon, she can wield a knight's double-edged greatsword and cleave through wolves and tigers.
"That's the boss's sister!" Harnack exclaimed in surprise, pointing at Augustus's retreating figure. "My God, she's the most amazing girl I've ever seen in my life!"
After saying this, Harnack immediately covered his mouth, as if afraid that Augustus hear him.
"This is my own sister." Tychus's reaction was indifferent. He knew that Dorothy Mengsk's status and position were almost equivalent to Princess Korhal IV. If anyone dared to hurt her, her powerful brothers would immediately jump up and send him to be executed or fed to insects.
Tychus, however, preferred the women in the strip clubs, while Augustus surrounded by a bunch of inexplicably dangerous women.
"Augustus this sister more than anything else. During the time of Turaxis II, Augustus always tense, like a ferocious lion. He only became gentle when he wrote letters to his sister," Raynor said.
"This is truly remarkable—no wonder he always ignored me when I asked him to play a game." Harnack then looked at Valerian behind Dorothy: "Wealthy families certainly have many sisters."
"I remember Augustus said he only had one sister. He also had a nephew, the son of his Arcturus." Raynor stroked his chin thoughtfully.
"Maybe I'm mistaken." He shrugged, not particularly concerned about the matter.
"It's a boy," Sarah Kerrigan said, looking at Valerian and reading his deep memories telepathically. "It seems to be Mengsk Family tradition that the second boy in the family wears a dress until he is ten years old."
"Oh--oh?" Harnack nodded at first, then, as if he had discovered something, a gloomy expression appeared on his face, as if his worldview had collapsed.
Kerrigan also changed, because this bastard was undoubtedly thinking about what Augustus look like in a dress.
"Whatever you do, don't mention this to Augustus." Raynor shrugged nonchalantly, completely unconcerned about Augustus's dark past. "Since Augustus has never mentioned it to us, it means he finds it shameful."
"Uncle Augustus." Valerian approached Augustus at that moment.
"I have always kept your words in mind, practicing swordsmanship and studying books on politics and economics. Now they can no longer call me a sissy; I am a man now."
As Dorothy nestled in Augustus's arms, Valerian looked up at his uncle.
Valerian not only wore a pale blue dress and a white Silk blouse with lace trim, but also a wool shawl with gold trim. It was obvious that the Umojan Pasteur Family lineage gave Valerian beautiful blond hair and soft facial features, and he also inherited the hawkish curves of the Mengsk Family's high nose bridge and stormy dark gray eyes.
His father, Arcturus, instilled in this blond boy the regal ruthlessness of the Mengsk Family, while his gentle mother gifted him kindness, compassion, and elegant self-restraint.
"Valerian, little Valenian," Augustus, "It seems I won't be able to carry you any longer."
"You've done very well— Mengsk Family are born to do great things," he repeated the words of his father, Angus, and the generations of Mengsk professors to their children.
"This outfit." Suddenly, Augustus's eyes twitched. His long-forgotten, dark memories slowly surfaced: Valerian's outfit was exactly the same style as the Augustus wore as a child.
Poor Valerian, if Augustus hadn't gone to great lengths to move his mother and sister to Umojan, he would have been under the care of his mother Juliana Pasteur and wouldn't have suffered such a terrible fate.
"This outfit?" Valerian tugged at her little skirt.
"It's very comfortable to wear. But if I wore this during training with Master Judah, the soldiers of Umojan would surround me and stare."
"That's not a good thing." Augustus moved Dorothy's head away from him, came to Valerian, and bent down to cup his nephew's face. "If those people look down on you because of this, then defeat them all. If you want to become the Heir of the Mengsk Family, you must work twice as hard."
After saying this, Augustus took his nephew's hand and walked toward his mother, waving to General Umojan and the soldiers lined up to welcome her as they went.
Kerrigan, Raynor, and the others followed behind Augustus, forming a moving fan shape with the Revolutionary Army soldiers spread out behind them. Everyone looked at Augustus, and it seemed as if all the lights were focused on Augustus.
Augustus, dressed in a crisp, dark gray military uniform and a crimson cloak, with bronze medals pinned to his chest, walked with Dorothy's arm in one hand and Valerian's in the other, exuding the air of a head of state walking the red carpet at a diplomatic event.
"Hello, Admiral Ted," Augustus shook hands with each of the naval admirals of Umojan, then waved. Augustus always elegant and eloquent when attending banquets of nobles, but now every gesture exuded authority.
"Lieutenant General Heinz, I heard about your great achievements in defeating the Trinidadian pirates back in Korhal."
"Ah, I am Augustus Mengsk."
The generals of Umojan also demonstrated extremely high qualities. They were all graduates of the United States Military Academy and rose to their current positions through their own abilities and accumulated seniority, rather than family reputation.
The noble officers of the Terran Confederacy are used to being bossy and arrogant, while the officer system of the Kel-Morian Combine is completely different from other political systems. Their officers are more like corporate executives than soldiers in the strict sense.
The senior officers of the Umojan army generally come from civilian and middle-class backgrounds, and their promotion channels are relatively fairer, allowing soldiers to obtain their deserved positions based on ability rather than background. The Umojan army has no shortage of capable officers; they are certainly not incompetent.
Augustus spoke for a long time with the generals. He briefly mentioned some of his key deployments in the Battle of Mar- Sara, and then talked about his encounter with an alien race on a certain planet.
General Umojan and his men took this very seriously. For a long time, the United States had been trying to obtain the mysterious technology from the alien ruins they had discovered, but so far they had not made any direct contact with the Protoss, and therefore had not made much progress.
In a few words Augustus had hit the mark with the Umojan, and then, under the generals' questioning, he reluctantly revealed that he had pried off many intact Tal'darim shrines and seized some incredible Psionics weapons.
Immediately, the generals of Umojan decided to pay a large sum of money for these shrines and Protoss weapons.
After a while, Augustus finally managed to deal with the enthusiastic Umojan soldiers and promised that the cooperation between the Revolutionary Army and the Umojan Protectorate would, as always, include the scope of technology sharing.
After bypassing the generals of Umojan and leaving them to be dealt with by Raynor and others, Augustus then approached his mother Katherine.
"Mother, I will stay in Umojan for a while." Augustus already much taller than his mother. He was taller than the two-year-old man, and his broad shoulders seemed capable of supporting a mountain.
Augustus saddened to see wrinkles appearing on Katherine's face, but he also knew that no one could escape the passage of time.
"Augustus, my child," Katherine said with a smile.
"You are no longer that toddler learning to walk; your wings have grown strong enough to withstand strong winds and take flight. We no longer worry that you will drift through life aimlessly, but we are always worried that one day we will receive bad news about the Revolutionary Army," she said gently.
"Angus always said you were more like your grandfather, the man who dared to trek across the forest with a hunting rifle. People back then always said Augustus Mengsk was a powerful bow; the greater the threat from the enemy, the stronger his retaliation."
"But I still hope you won't put too much pressure on yourself. In your letters to me, you always said that you carry the hopes of all the Korhal people on your shoulders and that failure is not an option."
"I will," Augustus said, looking at his mother after a few seconds of silence.
"What about Angus? I know he has joined the Umojan Council."
"He can't get away today," Katherine sighed. "You'll see him."
"I heard that Angus has aged considerably and his hair has turned completely white," Augustus.
"After the situation stabilized, some people began to blame Angus's uprising as the root cause of the destruction of Korhal IV," he said.
"We are not always strong and unyielding. When people start to reminisce about the past, they inevitably blame others for their pain. And we always complain about those within our reach and those we can see when we look up, but we don't curse the Confederate Congress in Tarsonis, because they can't hear us and don't care."
"We can't stop the rumors and resentment," Katherine said.
"The more prestige Angus had in Korhal, the greater the backlash he would suffer from that prestige."
"We will surely win," Augustus.
"But some people don't believe it," Katherine said. "Many of them have lost their courage and are wallowing in grief over the past."
"Angus did not defend the destruction of Korhal; he blamed himself for everything. He announced to everyone that he had strongly opposed the premature uprising and only supported it out of necessity," she said.
"Your successive victories have gradually led to the name Augustus replacing Angus's position among the Korhal people, Korhal have begun to regard you as their true savior and invincible war god. As long as you reclaim Korhal, they will willingly accept your leadership."
"This honor is not something I can easily bear. There has never been a savior in this world, nor any god," Augustus. "I am just an ordinary human being. If anyone thinks I am great, then my greatness should come from the greatness of all the Korhal and all mankind."
Faraday and Kerrigan immediately jotted down Augustus's words, which the Pan-Terran Revolutionary Party would soon list as essential reading.
"Where is Arcturus now?" Augustus then asked.
"He has finished his work in the mine and is preparing to hand it over to his assistant before returning to Umojan," Katherine said.
At this moment, Lieutenant General Warfield, Duke, and Major Londerstein each led a hundred-man guard from their warships and approached Augustus.
Warfield walked at the front. He was a long-time subordinate of Arcturus Mengsk and the oldest among the generals. He had become the second most important figure in the Revolutionary Army after Marshal Augustus.
To Augustus, Warfield was not only a reliable general but also an elder. Most importantly, he had learned of Augustus's dark past from a joke by Arcturus.
"Arcturus ' son. The Mengsk Family tradition cannot be abandoned. Arcturus was originally strongly opposed to this, believing that it would diminish his son's already limited masculinity," he said.
"But then we mentioned you, and he felt that it was acceptable for Valerian to wear a skirt."
