Hearing that the Mastermind had really appeared, Naruto and Sasuke nodded. After everyone exchanged glances, Naruto said, "I thought you weren't going to show yourself. Heh, just as I suspected, you've been behind all of this, pulling the strings from the shadows."
The Mastermind laughed. "I never expected you to bluff me into coming out. But you're much smarter than I imagined, tricking me into revealing myself this way. Ah, even though I knew you were bluffing, I couldn't risk it. All of this matters too much-to me, to you, to this world, and even to the Myriad Worlds. I can't afford to gamble, and I can't afford to lose." Though they couldn't see him, they could hear the helplessness and desolation in his voice.
Naruto frowned and shouted, "What exactly was so important that you went to all this trouble to bring me here from Earth, and even brought me and Sasuke from more than a decade in the future into this era?" Naruto could now be certain that his rebirth in the Naruto World had been no accident. Someone had carefully planned it.
Naruto glanced at the others. Both Sasuke and Kakashi were using their ocular techniques and sensory abilities to search for the man pulling the strings. Unfortunately, neither the White Eye, the Sharingan, nor Young Naruto's sensory abilities could locate the Mastermind. They could only hear his voice coming from every direction, without catching a glimpse of him.
Naruto frowned. "Who are you? Since you say all of this is for this world, come out and explain yourself."
