Sasuke opened his eyes when Naruto appeared beside him and said, "You're here, Naruto."
Sasuke sounded calm and certain, as though he had known all along that Naruto would come looking for him. Naruto's sudden appearance did not surprise him at all.
That calm certainty made Naruto's heart skip a beat. Looks like the Diamond Dragon wasn't lying to me. Sasuke really is a reincarnated soul, and he even knew I'd come looking for him. It seems he knows he can't hide his identity anymore.
Naruto did not immediately ask any questions or say anything. He simply smiled at Sasuke, then sat down beside him as though nothing were out of the ordinary. He seemed to be waiting for something, yet at the same time, perhaps he wasn't.
Seeing that Naruto had asked nothing and simply sat beside him, Sasuke casually surveyed the surrounding buildings.
After they had sat in silence for a long time, Sasuke was the first to break it. "Why aren't you asking?"
Naruto smiled. "Because you don't want to talk about it. Even if I asked, you wouldn't tell me."
Sasuke replied, "How would you know I wouldn't tell you if you don't ask?"
Naruto smiled. "Would you tell me if I asked?"
Sasuke sighed before saying, "I never meant to deceive you. It's just that I've only gradually started remembering recently. I'm not from this world. Or rather, I am this world's Sasuke Uchiha, but my soul isn't from this world."
Naruto looked at Sasuke and smiled. "Okay. And then?"
