A bright moon hung overhead. Sora sat alone atop the Pagoda, gazing up at the night sky, immersed in his own world. He had forgotten everything around him and did not even notice Naruto coming to his side.

Seeing how lost Sora was in his own world, Naruto did not disturb him. Instead, he gazed up at the beautiful night sky too. Memories suddenly surfaced in his mind, some good and some bad. Then he thought of Hinata, and sweetness filled his heart. A smile crept onto his face.

When he thought of Anko, his heart ached again, and longing, sorrow, and deep self-reproach showed on his face. Remembering the ideals he shared with Sasuke and Shikamaru filled him with yearning and ambition. Thinking of his like-minded friends far away in Konoha warmed his heart again. He remembered Kushina and Minato's concern for him and the days he had spent with them, and his heart filled with warmth.

Beneath the night sky, Naruto kept recalling moments of happiness and warmth, as well as things that brought hatred, helplessness, and guilt. His expression shifted constantly. He forgot why he had come to see Sora and became completely absorbed in his own world. He did not even notice when Sora came back to his senses and found him standing behind him.

Sora was a little surprised at first, but he soon realized that Naruto was simply lost in his own world, just as he had been. Watching Naruto's changing expression, he saw that those usually bright, sunny eyes were now filled with complicated emotions. Sora understood those emotions well; he was that sort of person himself. So he could not bear to rouse Naruto. He knew all too well that people like them could only enjoy those little dreams of their own
