After dinner, the three of them sat down in the living room. Naruto explained why he had returned and mentioned that he would be leaving this world to train in another one for two years. Kushina understood. She knew the burden he carried was far from light, and growing stronger was his only way forward.
Karin showed little reaction, but her fists clenched tightly, and her gaze grew more determined. Never before had she longed so desperately for strength.
"Naruto, I understand that you want to help everyone grow stronger, and I support you," Kushina said. "But I think there's a good chance Minato won't go to the other world with you."
"Why are you so sure Dad won't come with me, Mom?" Naruto asked, puzzled.
Kushina smiled without answering and pointed to her belly. Only then did Naruto realize. "Oh, right! You're pregnant, Mom. There's no way Dad could come with me at a time like this. Forget Dad-even I suddenly don't want to go anymore. I want to see my little sister when she's born. What am I supposed to do? This is so frustrating." He tugged at his hair, torn.
"All right, stop agonizing over it," Kushina said with a smile.
Kushina walked over and straightened the long hair he had mussed up. "Take good care of yourself when you get there, Naruto, understand? And remember to eat properly and get enough sleep. If you're in danger, don't push yourself beyond your limits. Get along with your companions, and protect Hinata and yourself. A good man has to shoulder his responsibilities, understand?"
"I know, Mom," Naruto said with a smile. "Don't be sad, and don't worry about me. I'll protect myself and take good care of Hinata."
Kushina smiled. "Good. Your dad, your unborn little sister, and
