Naruto looked at the girl. "All right, tell me what you want in return. If it's something I can do, I won't refuse. The information you gave me is quite valuable."
The girl struggled to sit up and gathered the little white fox behind her into her arms. "My request is simple. I just want you to take good care of her."
Naruto looked at the little fox in her arms. "Just take care of her? Your information could get you something much more valuable. Are you sure you don't want to reconsider?"
The girl shook her head. "No. Even if I weren't injured, I wouldn't have long to live. I'm from the Fox Clan. I know how terrifying they are. Even without these injuries, I could never escape them. Rather than let her die with me when the time comes, I'd rather save this little one while I still have the chance. Cough, cough..." After saying that, she could no longer suppress her injuries and began coughing, finally spitting out a mouthful of blood.
Naruto activated his White Eye. Through it, he saw that nearly all the girl's internal organs were damaged. The fatal wound was in her chest. Her heart was almost completely shattered, beyond any hope of saving. It was a miracle she had survived this long.
Naruto took the little white fox from her arms. "All right, I promise. Your injuries are too severe. There's nothing I can do. I'm sorry."
The girl smiled. "Hehe, don't let it weigh on you. I've already accepted it. As long as this little one is safe, that's enough. Whatever happens, thank you."
With that, her body began to break apart, dissolving into motes of light before Naruto's eyes and leaving only a Magic Crystal behind. Naruto picked it up.
