When Vilis entered the medical room, she found her mother, Kara, discussing something with a pink-haired girl. A second-tier magical beast, a Zero Rat, lay on the treatment table. These rats had little offensive power, but their anatomy and meridians closely resembled those of humans, making them ideal subjects for healers' medical experiments.
Vilis studied the girl curiously. She was not especially beautiful, but the spirited confidence in her features left a deep impression on Vilis. At a glance, she looked highly capable, much like Vilis's mother, Kara-perhaps even more so.
Vilis's arrival interrupted their conversation. Seeing her, Kara scolded her with a smile. "You silly girl, why didn't you say anything when you came in?"
Kara took the medicinal ingredients from Vilis's hands. Noticing that she kept staring at Sakura, she smiled. "What's gotten into you? This is Miss Sakura Haruno, whom I met outside. You can call her Sakura. Don't let her age fool you-her medical skills leave me in awe. If you had even half her skill, I wouldn't have to worry about you getting hurt out there."
Sakura replied modestly, "Teacher Kara, you're too kind. My medical skills are nothing special. Everything I know came from my master, and I've only scratched the surface. If I could learn even half of what she can do, I'd consider my life well spent."
"You're far too modest," Kara said with a smile. "I don't know how skilled your master is, but your medical skills are the best I've ever seen. Few people on the Azure Continent could match you."
Sakura shook her head. "Teacher Kara, I'm not being modest. Back home, my master is known as the Medical Master. There's no patient she can't cure and no poison she can't neutralize. I truly fall far short of her."
