Deep within Naruto's mind, Dark Naruto said to Good Naruto, "Hey, why are you staying quiet this time? Didn't you always say you wanted to be kind, caring, and love everyone? Why aren't you stopping him now that he's lost control? Or do you want him to become like this too? Ahahaha!"

Good Naruto chuckled. "Heh. I may be the embodiment of good emotions, but I'm not an idiot. He already lost control once before, and his emotions were still unstable. Then he absorbed the negative energy in Sasuke, and Sakura got hurt protecting him and Sasuke. If we don't let him vent, something bad will happen sooner or later. We should let him get it all out.

"Besides, these three aren't exactly good people. I may embody goodness, but I'm no saint. Letting him vent his resentment on them is making use of trash."

Dark Naruto looked at Good Naruto in surprise. Seeing that he wasn't joking, he said in astonishment, "I never thought even the embodiment of goodness had a demonic side. I'm starting to like you, hahaha!"

Good Naruto glanced at the smug Dark Naruto and scoffed. "Don't mock me. You're the same, aren't you? You have a good side too. Neither of us should judge the other."

Dark Naruto snapped, "Who are you saying has a good side? I'm the embodiment of evil. How could I possibly have a good side?"

Good Naruto smiled. "All right, let's not spoil the illusion by saying it out loud. I'm more curious about why Kurama isn't stopping him either."

Dark Naruto replied, "Give me a break. You think you're the only one who can tell that guy needs to vent? Kurama's been alive for a thousand years. You think he wouldn't notice? What a joke."

Good Naruto nodded. "You're right. I overlooked that."

Just as Dark Naruto had guessed, the Nine-Tails was watching Naruto in the sealing space and sighing. "That kid Naruto really doesn't know his limits. Good thing these three idiots came knocking on his door, or he would've gone berserk sooner or later. Go ahead and let it all out, kid."

Naruto savagely mangled Kin until her mind broke, then killed her. Still unsatisfied, he grabbed her corpse and began tearing at it. Once he had ripped her to pieces, he moved to Zaku's body and started tearing at it too.

Zaku was already dead. After ripping him apart, Naruto moved to Dosu's body. Only after tearing all three of them to pieces did Naruto let out a satisfied roar. Then he fell asleep.

Naruto woke after sleeping for half a day. Seeing torn clothes and scraps of human bodies scattered everywhere, he froze. His mind kept replaying the moments when he had killed Dosu and the others.

Remembering what he had done to Kin, Naruto stared in disbelief. He couldn't believe he had forced himself on her, shattered her mind, and then killed her. Worse, he had torn all their bodies to pieces. He had been so utterly inhuman, like a demon from hell.

Naruto asked the Nine-Tails in disbelief, "Kurama, did I really do this?" The Nine-Tails replied casually, "That's right. You did."

Naruto said miserably, "But...but how could I do something so cruel? Why did I become like this? Why didn't you stop me?"

The Nine-Tails snorted. "Hmph. What's so strange about that? Your emotions were already unstable, and then you forced yourself to absorb Sasuke's negative emotions. If you didn't let them out, something bad would've happened sooner or later. Better to vent on your enemies than to lose control and hurt the people you love.

"Those three idiots just happened to walk right into your hands. They were perfect targets for you to vent on. Why would I stop you? I was glad to see it."

Naruto was left speechless. He knew the Nine-Tails was right. Better to hurt his enemies than the people close to him. But he couldn't accept that he had vented in such a cruel way.

The Nine-Tails said calmly, "Can't accept what you did? I actually think this is a good thing for you."

Naruto asked in surprise, "Kurama, what do you mean? Do you want me to become a demon?"

The Nine-Tails replied, "Your wish is for the world to know peace. But for this world, steeped in hatred, to find peace, you have to understand what hatred is and what lies at its heart. Only when you truly understand all of this will people be able to open their hearts to you.

"So you shouldn't reject darkness. You should understand it and accept it. Only then can you resolve everyone's hatred and make people truly believe in you."

Naruto pondered aloud, "Understand the darkness and accept it?"

"Exactly," said the Nine-Tails. "Human nature is selfish. That selfishness gave rise to war, and war brought hatred. If you want people to live together in peace, you have to understand all of that. To understand it, you must immerse yourself in it. When you can emerge from hatred and sorrow, you'll truly understand the hearts of those consumed by hatred."

Naruto replied, "I understand what you mean, Kurama. I'll try to understand."

At that moment, Good Naruto spoke from within Naruto's Mental Space. "Impressive. I never thought Kurama would understand things like this."

Dark Naruto replied, "Hmph. He's lived for a thousand years, after all, and was consumed by hatred for a long time. It's only natural that he'd have some insight now that he's moved beyond it."

The Nine-Tails asked, "What affected you most about all this?"

Naruto thought for a moment. "I really don't know. At first, when I saw Sakura hurt, I was furious. It felt like a huge boulder was blocking my heart, and I wanted to smash it to pieces. While I was killing and torturing them, I felt pleasure—a pleasure that made me lose my reason and turn into a demon.

"That pleasure slowly crushed the boulder in my heart. But once I came back to my senses, I felt empty and cruel. Still, I knew I wasn't wrong to kill them. I'm really confused about what that feeling was."

The Nine-Tails nodded. "That's normal. It was simply your first time taking revenge on someone in such a cruel way, so you weren't used to it."

Naruto replied, "Maybe. Even when I was an assassin in my previous life, I was never this cruel. It's a terrifying feeling."

The Nine-Tails said, "I don't know what your previous life was like, but I can tell you that in this world, there are many things far crueler than this."

Naruto replied, "Kurama, I think you're right. I used to believe that if I gained enough power to make everyone afraid of me, I'd be able to change the world.

"But now I think that even with great power, if I don't understand people's hearts, I'll still fail. At best, I'll bring about a brief peace like the First Hokage or my father, not true peace."

The Nine-Tails said, "You're right. During the First Hokage's and the Fourth Hokage's time, the nations didn't dare start wars, and the Shinobi World did enjoy a brief period of peace. But I believe you can do it."

As Naruto formed the Hand Seals, Dark Persona inside him exclaimed in surprise, "I can't believe it. He actually released the Mental Barrier directly."

Good Naruto smiled. "Heh. Maybe he really can do it after all."

Dark Naruto replied, "This only proves he has the determination to wipe the hatred and sorrow from the world. It doesn't prove he can actually do it."

Good Naruto smiled. "At least he's taken the first step. Come on, this place is about to disappear." Dark Naruto nodded, and the two Narutos went to the sealing space inside Naruto, the surface of his mind.

Seeing the two of them appear, the Nine-Tails said, "So you're the other two Narutos."

Good Naruto smiled. "Hello, Kurama."

Naruto's consciousness entered the space then, too. Good Naruto smiled and said, "I never thought you'd be so determined. You actually released the space deep within your mind and let us out."

Naruto replied, "If I want to eliminate hatred and sorrow, I have to experience them first. How can I let go of something I've never known?"

Dark Naruto said, "I acknowledge your determination, but I don't believe you'll succeed."

Naruto smiled confidently. "I will."

Dark Naruto replied indifferently, "Do whatever you want. I don't care."

Good Naruto said seriously, "Now that you've made up your mind, stay strong. Letting us out will affect you a great deal. Without enough resolve, you'll be swallowed by negative emotions."

Naruto nodded. "I will." With that, he left.

Good Naruto said, "You want him to succeed too, don't you?"

Dark Naruto scoffed. "Hmph. I just don't believe he'll make it."

Good Naruto saw that Dark Naruto was too proud to admit it and let the matter drop. He turned to the Nine-Tails. "Well, Kurama, we'll be going too."

The Nine-Tails nodded. Good Naruto and Dark Naruto left the Nine-Tails' sealing space as well. Watching them disappear, the Nine-Tails said, "I hope that kid Naruto can really do it. He probably can. After all, he's the one the old man spoke of."

After Naruto left the sealing space, he dug a pit and gathered the scraps of Dosu and the others' bodies into it, burying them there. By the time he finished, it was already dark. Sasuke had also woken up.

Seeing Sasuke awake, Naruto asked happily, "Sasuke, you're awake. Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"

Sasuke replied, "I'm fine. I just feel a little weak."

Naruto smiled. "As long as you're okay. Wait here while I find us something to eat." With that, Naruto used the Body Flicker Technique and left.
