Naruto and Sasuke nodded to each other, then formed hand seals. "Shadow Clone Technique." "Multi Shadow Clone Technique." After each created a clone, the clones exchanged a glance, nodded, and headed toward the altar.
Naruto looked at Sasuke and said, "Let's wait here for news from the clones. We can look around in the meantime."
Sasuke nodded and began looking around. Bored, Qingxi wandered about as well, but there was nothing but rock all around them. Even the laboratory's metal walls had melted, and most had been vaporized. What was there to see?
Qingxi idly kicked a rock on the ground. "There's nothing here. What's there to look at?"
Seeing how bored Qingxi was, Naruto smiled and shook his head. She really does have a child's temperament. So impatient.
Suddenly, Sasuke called out, "Naruto, come take a look. There seems to be something here."
At Sasuke's words, Naruto hurried over, and Qingxi came closer out of curiosity too.
The spot Sasuke had found was in the center of the laboratory. Naruto walked over and asked, "Where?"
Sasuke pointed at the ground. "Here. Look, there seems to be a chain."
Naruto lowered his head to examine it. Sure enough, though it was covered in rock, the end of a chain protruded, almost flush with the ground. When the place had burned, the exposed portion of the chain must have been vaporized, leaving only the section buried underground intact.
Naruto said to Sasuke and Qingxi, "Stand back for now. I'll see where this chain leads underground. There might still be something in the First Laboratory that wasn't burned up."
Sasuke nodded and led Qingxi away. Naruto raised one hand as he looked at the ground, activated his White Eye, and struck downward with his palm.
