Background

Tang San's soul originated in the Western Shu Tang Sect of another world. An orphan adopted by Elder Tang Lan, he became an Outer Sect disciple and spent eighteen years mastering its hidden weapons, poisons, internal arts, and martial arts. 40

Denied entry to the Inner Sect, Tang San stole the Hundred Solutions for Hidden Weapons and the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record. He swore never to disclose the stolen arts and to repay the sect through lifelong service. At nineteen, he achieved minor success in the Mysterious Heaven Skill; by twenty-nine, he had mastered the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record's ultimate arts. 40

When the Tang Sect came under attack, Tang San returned to defend it. He killed an enemy using the Rain of Pear Blossoms Needle, but was discovered by the sect's disciples and elders. He fled to Ghost's Sorrow cliff, left behind two Buddha Fury Tang Lotuses for the sect, and leapt to his death. 40

He was reborn in the Douluo Continent with his memories intact as the son of Clear Sky Douluo Tang Hao and the transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor Ah Yin. 7 40 He began cultivating Tang Sect arts from infancy, awakened twin martial souls at six, attended Nuoding Academy and Shrek Academy, and later regarded Poison Douluo Dugu Bo as his greatest benefactor. 42
