"Big brother, I want to learn it too! I want to learn it too..."
Izuna, all riled up, dashed straight over to Uchiha Shin, shoved Uchiha Hana aside with his backside, and tugged on Shin's arm, suddenly acting all sweet and clingy. Haha.
Madara didn't cling to Uchiha Shin the way Izuna did, but the eager look in his eyes made it clear that he really wanted to learn this powerful technique too.
Seeing Madara and Izuna like this, Uchiha Shin couldn't help feeling rather pleased with himself. Haha.
Looks like I've still got plenty of clout as their big brother.
"I'll teach you both, I'll teach you both..."
"But to learn this technique, you first need to be extremely precise in how you extract and control Chakra."
"Izuna, you've only just started working with Chakra, and Madara, you're not much further along. Learning this technique will take a lot of hard work. Can you stick with it?"
Uchiha Shin smiled like a kind father.
But worried that three-year-old Izuna and four-year-old Madara might not be able to endure the hardship, Uchiha Shin gave them a heads-up and explained what it would take to learn the technique.
Madara and Izuna nodded firmly, then said in unison, "No matter how hard it gets, I still want to learn!"
"Since that's settled, starting tomorrow, whenever I have time, I'll supervise your Chakra extraction and control practice."
"Of course, Hana, that goes for you too. Understood?"
Uchiha Shin turned to look at Uchiha Hana, who was still standing there with an ingratiating smile, and reminded her as well.
"Understood, Lord Shin! You can count on me!"
Uchiha Hana gave Uchiha Shin a thumbs-up, looking delighted, and her teeth flashed white.
She was assuring him that he could trust her to get the job done.
If that girl's face were a little rounder, with a couple of pickled radishes stuck over her eyebrows, she'd have looked just like Might Guy with his bushy brows from the Warring States Period.
Uchiha Shin suddenly felt like making a snarky comment.
"All right, let's go home!"
"Maybe Mom will make plum rice tonight?"
Uchiha Shin ruffled Izuna and Madara's hair, giving each of them a big-brotherly head pat, then took them by the hand and started walking home.
"Plum rice?"
At those words, Uchiha Hana's salivary glands instantly went into overdrive. The look of a total glutton on her face was impossible to hide.
"Haha, how about a race? Whoever gets home first gets an extra bowl of plum rice!"
Uchiha Hana's eyes shifted as she quickly came up with a perfectly reasonable excuse to get herself an extra bowl.
Grinning, she proposed it to Uchiha Shin, Madara, and Izuna.
"Ready, set, go..."
"I'm off! Hahaha..."
Uchiha Hana left behind a string of cheerful, tinkling laughter as she took off running home at full speed.
"That girl really acts like she's one of the family!"
Watching Uchiha Hana disappear into the distance, Uchiha Shin suddenly thought that perhaps a carefree, thick-skinned personality was better suited to surviving in this era.
"That was so unfair, Big Sister Hana..."
"She just took off first!"
"Big brother, second brother, let's hurry and run too!"
Izuna was disdainful of Uchiha Hana's behavior, but his feet still picked up speed. He grabbed Uchiha Shin and Madara, and the three of them sprinted home together.
"Gasp! He really lives up to being Lord Tajima's eldest son. He's already this strong at such a young age!"
"Absolutely terrifying!"
The Chunin guarding the training ground stared in shock at the huge stone slab in the center, now shattered into countless fragments...
Thinking of how Uchiha Shin had smashed the slab with a casual strike, he couldn't help sucking in a sharp breath and murmuring to himself.
The enormous slabs covering the training ground weren't ordinary stone. They had all been cut from extremely hard quartz.
The fact that Uchiha Shin had shattered a quartz slab into countless fragments with a single strike showed just how powerful he was.
Most importantly, Lord Tajima's eldest son, Uchiha Shin, was only five years old.
The Chunin guarding the training ground decided he had to report this to the clan head.
Uchiha Shin was already so powerful. In the future, he would surely become a pillar of the Uchiha Clan, perhaps even its clan head.
A talented Uchiha shinobi like him had to be valued and protected. They had to do everything possible to ensure his safety as he grew—even if it meant sacrificing other clan members.
Only by valuing and protecting the clan's talented shinobi could the Uchiha Clan have a brighter future.
That was the plain and simple thought in the mind of this ordinary Uchiha Chunin.
After all, everything was for the clan. The more prosperous the clan became, the better life would be for them all.
The Chunin quickly handed his guard duty over to the Genin assisting him, then hurried toward the Briefing Room.
He knew that at this time of day, the clan head would be in his office in the Briefing Room, working and handling clan affairs.
When the Chunin arrived at the Briefing Room, he truthfully reported to Uchiha Tajima everything he had seen that day at the training ground about Uchiha Shin and the others.
After hearing the report, Uchiha Tajima nodded to show he understood.
The Chunin took his leave, then returned to the training ground in high spirits and conscientiously resumed his post.
"Tap!"
"Tap!"
Uchiha Tajima straightened in his seat and casually rested his right hand on the desk, tapping the tabletop rhythmically with his index finger. His opinion of his eldest son had risen even higher.
"That Shin..."
"He really is my son."
"Haha..."
Uchiha Tajima murmured to himself, pleased.
"Looks like that brat was holding back when he fought me last time."
"Not only did he improve on the Clone Technique and create the Multi-Shadow Clone Technique!"
"I never expected him to secretly develop a move capable of shattering a quartz slab with one strike!"
Uchiha Tajima had a sharp eye. He knew Uchiha Shin must have used some sort of burst technique to smash the quartz slab with a single blow.
But was this burst technique a ninjutsu or a Taijutsu technique?
To be honest, Uchiha Tajima was really curious.
As clan head, he wanted to know whether the burst technique Uchiha Shin had developed could be adopted by the Uchiha Clan.
Were there any strict requirements, such as a particular talent or attribute, for learning it?
If the technique could be adopted, then once every Uchiha Chunin had learned it...
The Uchiha shinobi would surely have the upper hand in Taijutsu when fighting the Senju Clan.
But then Uchiha Tajima reconsidered. If the technique really were suitable for the Uchiha Clan...
Given Shin's personality, he would have handed it over along with the Multi-Shadow Clone Technique after their last fight.
Since he hadn't, that had to mean the burst technique had all sorts of limitations and wasn't suitable for widespread use.
Uchiha Tajima believed that, given the character Shin had shown so far, if he really had a way to strengthen the Uchiha Clan, he wouldn't keep it to himself.
