"What are we betting on?"
Yan Shaozhe raised an eyebrow.
He had long since grown used to Xian Lin'er's attitude.
"On which side wins! If you win, I can approve some extra resources for the Martial Soul Department next year."
Xian Lin'er spoke with a smile, but then abruptly changed tack.
"But if I win, the Soul Tool Department gets half the slots for next year's incoming students. How about it? I'm betting on our junior brother."
"Deal! Xiaotao won't lose!"
After a moment's thought, Yan Shaozhe readily agreed.
He had led the previous reserve team himself. No one knew the strength of Xiaotao and her six teammates better than he did.
Jiang Yi was unlikely to beat all seven of them on his own. This was a sure bet.
While the two made their wager, Mu En was fiddling with his electric wheelchair, a gift Jiang Yi had given him.
"Truly exquisite."
Mu En stroked the metal armrests, admiring the soul tool array patterns on them. He could hardly bear to take his hands off it.
No one would have guessed that this seemingly ordinary wheelchair was a Class 5 soul tool. It even had a flight mode.
Class 5 soul tools were nothing rare. What was rare was Jiang Yi, who had learned to make one in just two months.
He truly deserved to be the one chosen by their ancestor, the Sea God.
Mu En glanced up at Yan Shaozhe, who was still bickering with Xian Lin'er, and the last trace of hesitation in his heart vanished.
Jiang Yi had to have been sent down by the Sea God, and his arrival happened to align perfectly with Mu En's plans to develop soul tools.
Didn't that prove he was just as farsighted as the Sea God?
