Background / History
Ning Fengzhi sends Chen Xin to escort his disciple, Crown Prince Xue Qinghe, on a journey to Martial Soul Hall for medical treatment. Ning chooses him over Bone Douluo because Chen Xin is more tactful and knows Martial Soul Hall better 9.
On the return journey, Chen Xin questions Xue Qinghe about a phenomenon over Martial Soul City. He attributes it to Qian Daoliu, head of Martial Soul Hall’s Worship Hall, and explains that Qian Daoliu defeated his grandfather, who later died with deep regrets. Chen Xin does not realize that the phenomenon is connected to Qian Renxue, who is posing as Xue Qinghe 10.
At the Heaven Dou Great Soul Arena, Chen Xin watches the swordsman Fei Xue defeat Shui Bing’er. Struck by Fei Xue’s sword intent, he offers to teach the fighter and pass on his mantle, but Fei Xue declines, saying he already has a master 38 39. Chen Xin later visits the Crown Prince’s Residence, where Xue Qinghe’s swordsmanship impresses him during a spar. Afterward, he recognizes a similarity between Xue Qinghe’s sword intent and Fei Xue’s, though Ning Fengzhi rejects the idea that they could be the same person because of their apparently different cultivation levels 49 50.
