Shi Fen's main body spoke with the Machine Race.
Shi Fen got up and headed out of the rest cabin to find Babata. The Machine Race followed close behind, practically skipping with excitement. It was just like a lively, adorable little tail.
When Shi Fen reached the ship's Core Control Room, he saw Babata sitting there, staring blankly at the ship's instrument panel.
"Babata, why are you here by yourself? What are you thinking about?" Shi Fen asked curiously, holding a gun in one hand.
"Nothing much. I was alone for over fifty thousand years, and now that I'm back in the universe, I'm feeling a little dazed. I asked Luo Feng to leave me here so I could have some quiet time by myself," Babata said evasively.
"Fifty thousand years of solitude must have been terrifying. I really admire you for enduring all that without having a mental breakdown." Shi Fen had a pretty good idea what Babata was thinking, but he didn't let on.
Babata's probably thinking about his master, Shi Fen thought.
"Heh, some of your ancient Huaxia Country books gave me a bit of inspiration. They helped me vaguely find my own path, which is how I managed to persevere," Babata said with a bitter chuckle.
"That's only natural. The philosophical culture of Huaxia Country reaches deep into the heart and leads to the vast universe." Babata's words stirred something in Shi Fen.
"Your Earth civilization really is strange. Your people have astonishingly poor cultivation talent, but you've achieved a great deal in matters of the mind and soul," Babata said.
"Heh, we wouldn't have people like me if our minds weren't strong," Shi Fen said smugly.
Babata smiled in response.
