"You came to the Northern Lands Society to learn the unique spells of those School, right?"
Fran nodded quickly; this was her main purpose in coming to the Northern Lands Society.
If she had hesitated before, perhaps thinking that some School of magic was exceptionally powerful, once Fran's proficiency improved, she could easily crush everyone else.
However, she has now abandoned this idea, firstly because as the spell's Order increases, the speed at which she improves her proficiency becomes slower and slower.
Ultimately, it's because the proficiency she gains from practicing spells is simply too low, failing to keep pace with the growth of her skills.
Normally, she can gain about three points of proficiency for each successful and safe casting of a First Order spell.
However, her skill level doesn't increase statically; it increases as the difficulty of certain tasks she completes increases.
For example, if she uses a spell to severely injure or kill an enemy, the proficiency she gains will increase significantly.
For example, when she killed Connor, the leader of the Blood Wolf Knights, all the Arts that had harmed him received a significant boost.
However, this Arts's advantage still can't compare to another method—creative content.
Fran discovered long ago that if she made an unprecedented breakthrough in a certain Arts, the boost to her proficiency would be enormous.
Just like her upgrade in Foundry Studies, it was because she 'created' the Steam Engine, a creation that had never existed in this world before.
And her Runology also granted her a significant boost in proficiency after she successfully replicated a genuine Ancient Rune.
However, such creative content clearly requires a bit of luck and inspiration to achieve, and it's really difficult to rely on such creative content to farm a certain spell.
Fran doesn't usually have that many inspirations; most of her inspirations come from her 'experiences' from her previous life.
These 'experiences' have almost no corresponding spells in the other world, so she has to create them herself.
Secondly, if she specializes in only one School, her attributes will be relatively low.
Her current high level of Mental Power is undoubtedly due in large part to the combined mental attributes of multiple School.
Furthermore, the more Profession she obtains, the more attributes she can gain.
This bonus far exceeds the benefits of specializing in a particular School.
She felt that if she stayed in First Order for a while longer and found seven or eight First Order Profession that added mental attributes, she would be able to cast the Tier 2 spells that Harbos had given her.
Therefore, she never gave up her desire to learn about all School of thought, which is why she directly refused to Yobner Society.
The Northern Lands Society, on the other hand, perfectly met its needs.
Here, she can not only learn spells from other schools, but also 'clean up' her existing spells.
In the Antir Region, it's alright; not many people know what the spells of different School are like. They just say, "Aren't these all spells?"
However, this wouldn't work in areas where mages lived. She couldn't display spells from other School of School, or she would be in serious trouble if they noticed.
Once she joins the Northern Lands Society, she can delegate everything to Northern Lands Society.
"I learned this spell from the Northern Lands Society." That's what Fran would say if one day she were recognized as having cast a spell from another School.
In any case, even the Northern Lands Society itself doesn't know how many schools of School it has 'borrowed' from, and other School won't travel thousands of miles to the Northern Lands Society to see if there are any related Paper.
"Yes, I've always wanted to learn the spells of various School, including the Alliance..."
Fran hesitated, but even if she didn't say it aloud, Iris probably already knew the reason.
Iris smiled, walked to Fran's side, and slowly said:
"Alright, if you really want to learn those spells here, I can't stop you... but you also have to remember that no knowledge is free among mages."
"Although I have opened the path to learning those School magic, if you want to learn them, you must make sufficient contributions in exchange for these spells, just like the mages who have already learned them."
"Within the Northern Lands Society, Contribution Points is a currency called Contribution Points, which is used to facilitate the exchange of knowledge."
"You can earn these Contribution Points by participating in large-scale projects led by a mage, or by publishing your Paper within the academy. For every person who views your paper using their Contribution Points, you will receive a portion of the Contribution Points as a reward."
Fran blinked. As a University Association, the Northern Lands Society must have a corresponding knowledge exchange system; otherwise, it can't be called a society, and it might as well be called a sharing session.
Fran could accept this method of exchanging knowledge within the academy, since it still allowed her to learn spells from other School.
Iris pursed her lips, then spoke:
"By the way, I think you haven't received any research training from a researcher, right? Here's what I'll do: I'll find you a project where you can learn something..."
Iris suddenly remembered that Harbos had told her that Fran had not received training in the Alliance's research system and might need her to mentor her.
Iris, considering that Fran had once created two apprentice spells, refused to allow Fran to participate in the Northern Lands Society's researcher training program.
That was a training program specifically designed for monks promoted from the Northern Lands Society, so that these monks could quickly integrate into the Academy's system.
However, this training method might not be suitable for Fran. In her opinion, Fran should not lack the 'inspiration' to modify and create spells.
However, Fran absolutely lacked standardized research methods, such as how to conduct sufficient research on a type of magic, or how to write her findings into Paper.
Fran hesitated for a moment after hearing this, but nodded nonetheless.
Although she has achieved quite a lot of 'results' now, they are all derived from 'experience' from her previous life.
However, since the Society President asked me to practice in a certain project, she must have her reasons.
After all, she doesn't know the specific procedures for publishing Paper here, so it would be good for her to learn about them.
Iris nodded in satisfaction and then said:
"Oh, and one more thing, after you go down there, when you register on the Mana Communication System, remember not to write your real name directly. Just choose any name you like."
Iris knew that Fran's magical research level still needed improvement. Under these circumstances, if Fran were caught by those who came to cause trouble because of Harbos's reputation, it would ultimately be a problem. Therefore, she specifically instructed Fran not to write her real name directly.
Fran blinked and agreed.
