Return to the Northern Lands Society
Outside Snow Bear City, the followers of the Church of the Goddess of Ocean Currents addressed their bishop:
"Your Excellency, is it really alright for us to just leave like this? What if that box is fake?"
Gillian raised her head, turned to look at the believer who had raised the question, and slowly said:
"Whether it's fake or not, there's nothing we can do about it. As long as the Alliance shows they want it, we have to learn to give up."
Gillian was referring to something that many within the Goddess of Ocean Currents agreed on: try not to compete with the Alliance mages unless absolutely necessary.
The Alliance is powerful, but they are not interested in everything. They selectively compete for various resources and concentrate their strength on one point.
Fran had only said that she came representing the Alliance, which was why Gillian was so suspicious.
If the Alliance really wanted to send something, they would have sent a large force long ago, instead of just a mage.
So at that time she was extremely suspicious that Fran was really representing the Alliance, but now it seems that what Fran said was true.
"If the Alliance really wants that item, with the Northern Lands Society so close to us, they could absolutely make things impossible for us..."
Gillian then looked at the other two parties in that meeting.
The orcs fared the worst. Although they had the fewest people going in, they had the highest death rate, and those who died were extremely important.
Only Benedict and a few orcs are still alive; the rest of the orcs are all dead, and their chieftain Stanley's body was reduced to half in the chaos and blizzard.
Benedict was a smart man; he knew the best option was to get his tribe back as soon as possible to minimize the losses.
They had already seen the box, so they didn't need to worry about the penalties of the contract.
The Mercenary on the other side thought the same way. Smart people didn't want to stay in this place anymore. They left the city immediately after this incident, without wasting a moment.
Some Mercenary, however, remained convinced that the box Fran had transported was a fake, believing the real box was still inside Snow Bear Territory Snow Bear Territory, and thus continued their search there.
In any case, they could no longer stay in Snow Bear City, because after those mages descended from the sky, Fran came over specifically to say these words to them.
"Get out of Snow Bear City now!"
Fran didn't mention the punishment for not doing so as she had before, but after seeing the leaders of the mages nod, everyone ran out of Snow Bear City.
Gillian looked back at Snow Bear City in the distance and could see that the lord's castle was covered in frost. She turned around and led her party back to White Dragon Port.
That's how this matter ended.
The experience of riding in an air vehicle was not very good, especially for those not in the pilot's seat. Fran felt extremely shaky, even more so than when Black Horse was running at its fastest speed.
If it weren't for the fact that her physique had also been enhanced by the Panel, she probably would have vomited on the spot in the flying vehicle.
Fran didn't vomit, but that doesn't mean Anna didn't, because the sound of the wind moving rapidly at high altitudes prevented her from hearing the other person vomit.
But after getting off the vehicle, she saw that Anna could barely stand, her face was pale, and there was some residue at the corner of her mouth, so she knew that the other person's flying vehicle experience was not good.
After calming down a bit, she explained to Fran why she, a First Order Profession, would vomit in such a situation.
"I never want to ride in a flying vehicle like that again in my life. I could feel the airflow rubbing against my body so violently, it made me feel terrible."
Anna was referring to what she could perceive using her unique Elf senses, and she was very puzzled as to how these mages could endure it.
"Why didn't you throw up?" At the same time, she was also a little curious as to why Fran only seemed to be in a bad mood, but didn't have any special physical reaction.
"Who knows? Maybe the Elf organ inside me is a bit special." Fran laughed it off. This incident made her realize that the [Elven Combat Style] on her Panel wasn't just a Elf organ that might not even exist.
This ability simply allows her to fight like Elf; other than that, she has none of the positive or negative effects of Elf.
She asked Zane to take Anna to a place to stay and help her get a permit to enter the city.
As for herself, she needed to first find Iris, the Society President of the Northern Lands Society, not only to let her know she was safe, but also because...
"Fran, the Society President is looking for you. Go see Society President right now." Just as Fran returned to the Northern Lands Society, Dylan ran over and said this to Fran.
So Fran's first stop after returning to the Northern Lands Society was Iris's place.
She still has a lot to deal with.
For example, she could exchange her Battle Merit merits for new spells at the Battle Mage Corps. After completing the Snow Bear Territory mission, she could exchange them for about three spells.
She retrieved the box, completing the Battle Mage Corps ' mission, and naturally received a reward, though it would take some time to be tallied.
There will be a reward for Battle Merit at that time. As for whether they will be exchanged for spells or other valuable materials, we'll see when the time comes.
Also, the Paper she published, not the one about Refining White Star Sand, but the one she wrote titled "Mathematical Analysis of the Fireball".
She doesn't even know how good her Paper is now, or why it's been neglected because people here don't value mathematics, and hardly anyone knows about it.
This Paper was recognized for its value and is now known to all the monks of the Northern Lands Society.
Anyway, she doesn't know anything about the current situation; she'll have to check the Mana Communication System first.
Secondly, there's the [Aether Manipulation] trait she obtained from the Deep Sea Golden Dragon. She remembers the original description saying that only Dragon Clan and a few mages knew about it; perhaps she could look up some information on that.
Finally, there's Anna's matter. To be honest, Fran wanted to assign her to the task of recruiting new followers for the Lord of Radiance.
However, this matter will have to wait a while; she still has many things to do, so this isn't urgent.
Fran strode into the Mage Tower, then climbed more than a dozen flights of stairs to reach the Society President's room.
She knocked three times, then pushed the door open and went in, where she saw Iris sitting in a chair, holding a small booklet in her hands.
The booklet is titled "The Cornerstone of the Great Cause - An Explanation of the Mathematical Analysis of Fireball".
P. S. Uploading three chapters a day is a bit troublesome, so I'll change it to two chapters tomorrow, with each chapter being 3000 words, still 6000 words per day, to save some uploading time.
