Tomorrow was the day the Ninja Academy opened. After dinner, Kamizuki felt a wave of exhaustion wash over him, clouding his mind.
So he went back to his room early to rest.
As soon as he lay down on the tatami, he fell asleep.
The moment he entered the dream, the first thing Kamizuki saw was that strange old man with horns on his head, the same one from last time.
This time, the strange old man wore an expression that said, "I'm very pleased," and smiled at Kamizuki.
The more Kamizuki looked at him, the more he felt that old man's smile was just begging for a beating. He had the urge to give him a good slap across the face. The old man was downright irritating.
But Kamizuki managed to hold back. Silently, he repeated to himself, Impulsiveness is the devil. Impulsiveness is the devil...
After seeing Kamizuki arrive, the old man noticed the strained expression on his face, as if he were struggling to hold something in. He didn't even ask what was wrong; he just kept holding it in. The old man couldn't stand watching any longer.
At last, he spoke. "I am Hamura Otsutsuki, your ancestor."
"What?!" Kamizuki stared at the strange old man in shock, unable to believe it.
He remembered seeing Hamura Otsutsuki when he was young in the scene from his previous dream. Back then, Hamura had been quite handsome! Why had he turned into such a sleazy-looking old man?
Hamura now stooped a little, his face covered in age spots. The gleam of youth had faded from his Byakugan, and even the pair of horns on his head looked weathered by time.
In the dream, Kamizuki stood a few steps in front of Hamura Otsutsuki, who sat cross-legged in midair with his eyes tightly shut.
Suddenly, Hamura opened his eyes. His gaze met Kamizuki's, and the instant their eyes locked, a flash of light burst from Kamizuki's Byakugan. As the light faded, his eyes transformed once again into the same moonlike eyes he had seen the other day.
When Kamizuki's eyes became like a full moon, scenes began to play out in them, like a movie.
The story began like this:
A young man trained and fought relentlessly. After one battle, he met another young man named Hashirama Senju. After spending some time together, he realized that he and Hashirama shared the same ideals.
Later, he founded a clan and changed his original surname. He named his newly established clan the "Hyuga," meaning a clan that faced toward the sun. That young man was Tenin Hyuga, the first clan head of the Hyuga Clan.
Afterward, Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha led Tenin Hyuga and several other powerful clans in founding the Hidden Leaf Village.
After the heads of the various clans voted, Hashirama Senju became the First of Konoha.
Through the combined efforts of all those clans, large and small, the Hidden Leaf Village grew stronger day by day.
Over time, Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha gradually discovered that they had more and more differences. They saw many things differently, and before long, the two began to clash frequently.
At first, they tried to convince each other through discussion, but neither could get the other to agree. Eventually, their arguments became more and more frequent.
In a fit of anger, Madara Uchiha left Konoha alone. Not long after, he decided to fight Hashirama Senju one final time. Whoever won would become Konoha's leader and guide the village according to his own vision.
Before the battle, Madara made extensive preparations. First, he subdued the Nine-Tailed Fox, Kurama. Then he secretly returned to Konoha and sought out Tenin Hyuga, hoping Tenin would help him defeat Hashirama in their decisive battle.
Tenin refused. What Madara didn't know was that Hashirama had also approached Tenin for the same reason, and Tenin had refused him too.
At that time, apart from Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha, Tenin Hyuga was the only person in Konoha whose strength could rival theirs. Whichever side gained his help would have a decisive advantage in the battle.
But Tenin didn't want to get involved in Hashirama and Madara's conflict, so he chose to remain neutral and help neither of them.
In the end, Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju fought a battle to the death at the Valley of the End.
They fought for three days and three nights. The battle ended with Hashirama Senju victorious and Madara Uchiha dead.
The first scene ended, and a second began to play in Kamizuki's mind.

On the battlefield of the final battle in the First Shinobi World War, only two people stood against each other, each representing a different nation.
One represented the Land of Lightning: the First Raikage, Ay.
The other represented Konoha of the Land of Fire: Tenin Hyuga.
Their battle lasted a whole day. In the end, Tenin Hyuga used his ultimate ocular technique, the Thousand-Eye Byakugan, to defeat the First Raikage, Ay, and claim victory.
When the battle ended, so did the First Shinobi World War, with the Land of Fire defeating the Land of Lightning.
Tenin Hyuga, the Hyuga Clan, and their Kekkei Genkai, the Byakugan, became famous throughout the entire Ninja World because of that battle.
Though these two scenes had taken a long time to tell, they flashed by in Kamizuki's eyes in an instant.
After watching these events, Kamizuki felt his mind going numb from the sheer amount of information. He shook his head slightly to clear it, then turned his gaze toward Hamura.
Hamura was still floating in midair, sitting not far in front of Kamizuki.
The two looked at each other for a while. Hamura gathered his thoughts before speaking to Kamizuki. "The scenes you saw during your first visit here, as well as the ones you saw this time, are the earliest history of this world.
"After Mother ate the God Tree Fruit, she gained chakra. She then used that chakra to bring peace to a world that had been ravaged by war.
"But Mother gradually became consumed by greed. In the end, my brother and I had no choice but to rise up against her. Through our combined efforts, we sealed Mother inside the moon."
After finishing, Hamura remained seated in midair in front of Kamizuki, watching him.
