Yin-Yang Release was divided into two parts:
Yin Release used one's spiritual energy to create a physical form from nothing.
Yang Release used one's physical energy to infuse chakra or will into an inanimate object, giving it life.
The Yin-Yang Eye was made up of the pair of eyes my elder brother and I inherited through our mother's bloodline. Both could control Yin and Yang.
My elder brother possessed the Yang Eye, known to the world as the Rinnegan. Those who possessed the Rinnegan had at least six chakra nature transformations, extraordinary abilities, and the power to use the Six Paths Technique.
It could be the Creator God, with the power to create the world, or the God of Destruction, with the power to destroy it. The Rinnegan was also the only dōjutsu capable of countering the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Its genjutsu could control the Nine Tailed Beasts with just a glance.
My eyes were the Yin Eye, known as the Tenseigan. Its abilities included:
It could control puppets remotely without limit. The puppets under its control possessed their own consciousness, and the number and scale of those it could control far surpassed the Performance of a Hundred Puppets. It could also control another person's mind and actions, and access the information in their brain.
It could also extract chakra from others remotely, with the exception of those who possessed the Byakugan.
Anyone without the Byakugan who came into contact with the Tenseigan would have their chakra forcibly extracted.
It could also directly absorb other people's ninjutsu and return it against them. (Similar to Murong Fu's "Star Shift.")
It could summon an enormous stone statue called the Immovable Wisdom King. (Its appearance resembled that of the user.) As long as the Tenseigan's wielder remained undefeated, the Immovable Wisdom King would not disappear. Even if it was shattered, it could quickly restore itself.
It could control space and set up genjutsu and traps in other dimensions. This ability linked the moon to the ground, and it also possessed insight surpassing the Byakugan.
It could control gravity and repulsion, and its power was great enough to manipulate the orbits of planets. (For controlling gravity and repulsion, refer to Shinra Tensei.)

But the irises of Kamizuki's Tenseigan resembled two fish, each shaped like a tomoe. One was black and one white, forming a pattern somewhat like the yin-yang fish of the Taiji symbol.
After an unknown length of time, Hamura's Petal Tenseigan slowly disappeared, eventually turning into the Byakugan. (To make it easier to tell Hamura's and Kamizuki's Tenseigan apart, from now on I'll call Hamura's the "Petal Tenseigan" and Kamizuki's the "Taiji Tenseigan"!)
In Kamizuki's Taiji Tenseigan, the two tomoe shaped like fish spun in alternating black and white, emitting flashes of fluorescent light.
As Hamura's eyes turned completely into the Byakugan, the chain that had linked their eyes silently dissolved into the air.
When the moonlight-like chakra flowing from Hamura's eyes entered Kamizuki's, Kamizuki felt an incredible fullness throughout his body. A great deal of information also appeared in his mind.
In this state of fullness, Kamizuki slowly entered a state of enlightenment. His body sat cross-legged without conscious thought, and his moonlight-like Tenseigan slowly closed. His hands also formed a strange seal of their own accord.
As Kamizuki entered this state of enlightenment and formed the strange seal, Hamura's body, floating not far in front of him, suddenly began to flicker in and out. In moments, Hamura's figure slowly vanished.
In this dream world, the surroundings became a vast emptiness. Kamizuki was the only one left, sitting there as he slowly contemplated something.
No one knew how long Kamizuki remained in that void, but at last he opened his eyes.
When he opened them and looked around, he realized that Otsutsuki Hamura, who had been in front of him, had disappeared at some point. He was now back in his own room.
