Hamura's Inheritance

It was probably around three in the morning when Kamizuki woke from his deep sleep and groggily climbed off the tatami.

When he opened his eyes, a moon-colored light shone from them, illuminating the otherwise dark room.

In Kamizuki's glowing eyes, two black-and-white tomoe shaped like fish spun faster and faster.

Kamizuki felt absolutely amazing. He also discovered that his eyes could now see everything within a one-kilometer radius.

After checking his surroundings and finding nothing unusual, he got dressed, quietly left his room, and headed for the training room.

Once inside, Kamizuki began trying to refine his chakra.

The results were incredible. He discovered that the amount of chakra inside him had increased tremendously.

Kamizuki was only five years old. Before receiving Hamura's Inheritance, his chakra reserves had barely reached the peak of the Genin level. Now, after receiving it, they had reached the early Jonin level.

A ninja's chakra reserves generally took three to five years of training to grow from Genin to Chunin, and another five to ten years to reach Jonin. Some less gifted people could never advance beyond Chunin. Only exceptionally talented geniuses could attain Kage Level, not to mention the exceedingly rare Super-Kage-level ninjas. Then there were god-level ninjas. At present, only three could be considered god-level: Otsutsuki Kaguya, Hagoromo Otsutsuki, and Hamura Otsutsuki.

Oh! Did Gamamaru count?

After receiving Hamura's Inheritance, Kamizuki had gone from the very top of the Genin level to the early Jonin level in such a short time. That was an unbelievable rate of progress!

What Kamizuki didn't know was that his chakra reserves were actually far greater than this. He was still so young that this was simply the maximum amount of chakra his body could contain. The rest, which his body couldn't yet hold, had been sealed by Hamura and stored in some corner of his body.

Kamizuki slowly calmed down from his excitement at discovering how much his chakra had increased, and silently thanked Hamura in his heart.

Without Hamura's Inheritance, he had no idea how many years of hard training it would have taken to reach this level.

After thanking Hamura, Kamizuki circulated his chakra through his body's pathways. He felt refreshed all over, and his mind was clear.

Kamizuki let out a breath and focused his mind on his mental world, searching for the parts of Hamura's Inheritance that had already merged with him.

Back in his previous life, when he watched the globally popular Naruto: Shippuden, drawn by AB, he had always wondered: "Can members of the Hyuga Clan actually use ninjutsu?"

As he remembered it, he had never once seen anyone from the Hyuga Clan use anything besides Gentle Fist. They hadn't even used the most basic Three Body Technique.

(The Three Body Technique referred to here consists of the Substitution Technique, Transformation Technique, and Clone Technique.)

After he was reborn in the world of Naruto, he had specifically asked his cheap old dad, Hyuga Hiashi, about it.

Hiashi had explained it this way: "The members of our Hyuga Clan are born with weaker chakra pathways than ordinary people. If we use any ninjutsu besides Gentle Fist, our pathways will rupture. In mild cases, we'll be crippled, with our pathways completely severed; in severe cases, we'll die."

Kamizuki couldn't believe Hiashi's explanation. If that were really true, how could the Hyuga Clan become Konoha's strongest clan alongside the Uchiha Clan? It made no sense!

But he eventually found the real answer to this mystery in Hamura's Inheritance.

Hamura's Inheritance explained the secret of the Hyuga Clan this way: "Before Hamura left for the moon, he left his son on the surface. To prevent his descendants and his elder brother's descendants from coming into conflict and plunging the world into even greater chaos, he placed a restriction on his son."

Now that he knew the reason, Kamizuki kept reading. To his delight, Hamura's Inheritance also contained a method for breaking this restriction.

Kamizuki tried using the method in Hamura's Inheritance to remove the restriction from his own body, and succeeded. He also discovered that people with the Tenseigan, like those with the Rinnegan, could use chakra of different natures.

Just as Kamizuki was using the method in Hamura's Inheritance to remove the restriction, the door to the training room suddenly swung open.

It was none other than Kamizuki's twin sister, Hinata Hyuga.

Ever since Kamizuki was two, he had gotten up early every day to train for several hours.

So when Hinata turned three, she began getting up early every day to train with Kamizuki. Gradually, they both made it a habit.

It was the day the Ninja Academy opened again, and Hinata was a little excited because it was her first time going to school.

She had woken up a little after three and lain on her tatami, unable to fall asleep. After tossing and turning for over an hour, she finally couldn't stand it anymore. Summoning her courage, she got up alone, changed into her training clothes, and went to the training room to work out.

Hinata hadn't expected her twin brother, whom the clan members called the "demon prodigy," to have gotten up even earlier than she had.

After Hinata entered the training room, Kamizuki greeted her. Then he wondered: Should I remove the restriction that keeps my adorable sister from using ninjutsu, too?

Kamizuki thought it over and decided he was probably still too weak. He'd wait until he reached Kage Level, then remove the restriction for the clan members one by one.

(Note 1: Once the restriction is removed, Hyuga Clan members born afterward will no longer have it.)
