Rebirth in Another World

This was a world ruled by ninjas. There were five great nations: the Land of Fire, the Land of Lightning, the Land of Earth, the Land of Water, and the Land of Wind. Each of these five great nations had its own ninja village. The villages were like the armies of Earth, and their duty was to protect their respective nations.

The ninja villages of the five great nations were the Hidden Leaf Village in the Land of Fire, Kumogakure in the Land of Lightning, Iwagakure in the Land of Earth, Kirigakure in the Land of Water, and Sunagakure in the Land of Wind.

Among them, the Hidden Leaf Village of the Land of Fire was the strongest. That made the Land of Fire the most powerful of the five great nations. It had the best environment and the best resources.

Many small nations lay scattered among the five great nations, struggling to survive in the gaps between them.

Only the supreme leaders of the ninja villages of the five great nations were honored with the title of "Kage."

These five were the "Five Kage": the Hokage, Raikage, Tsuchikage, Mizukage, and Kazekage.

In the Hidden Leaf Village of the Land of Fire, there was an ancient and powerful clan. They had been there since the village was founded.

They possessed a powerful Kekkei Genkai, the Byakugan, renowned as one of the "Three Great Dojutsu" of the Ninja World. They were the Hyuga Clan.

Today was December 27. In the Hidden Leaf Village of the Land of Fire, a pair of fraternal twins—a girl and a boy—were born to Hyuga Hiashi, the current head of the Hyuga Clan.

It was Hiashi's first time becoming a father, and he was both excited and overjoyed.

Hiashi gave the two children their names. The older sister was named Hinata Hyuga, and the younger brother was named Hyuga Kamizuki.

Hyuga Kamizuki was, of course, that unlucky kid, Zhao Xiaolei, who had been sucked in by the strange eye while he was out admiring the "supermoon."

When Zhao Xiaolei regained consciousness, he realized that he had become a newborn baby. He was naked and held in the arms of a man with a pair of strange eyes.

The man's eyes were completely white, including his irises. At first, Zhao Xiaolei thought the man had cataracts.

What he didn't know was that his own tiny eyes were just like the man's: they were also a pair of white eyes.

The man held another baby in his other arm, a child just like him. Strangely, this baby also had white eyes, exactly like the man's.

While he was still utterly confused, he heard the man holding him say that he was going to name him and the other baby. When he heard the names the man chose, he finally understood what was going on.

He had been reincarnated in another world. And not just any world—he had come to the world of Naruto and been reborn into the Hyuga Main House. Most incredible of all, he was Hinata Hyuga's twin brother.

Since he had somehow been reincarnated, there was nothing he could do about it. Zhao Xiaolei couldn't change what had already happened, so he had no choice but to accept his fate. From then on, he was Hyuga Kamizuki.

The name Zhao Xiaolei was a thing of the past. Now, he was Hyuga Kamizuki.

Actually, Kamizuki felt pretty lucky to have ended up in the world of Naruto.

In his previous life on Earth, he had been a die-hard Naruto fan. He had followed Naruto: Shippuden for more than ten years and had only recently finished reading the manga.

He figured that being in the world of Naruto would at least give him some foreknowledge of major events. That was much better than ending up in a world he knew nothing about.

Besides, he had been reborn into a prestigious family in Konoha—and into the Main House, no less.

He was much better off than the protagonist, Uzumaki Naruto. Just look at Naruto. Not only was he an orphan in Konoha as a child, but although he had an incredible pair of parents, they had died for the village. His father had even been the Fourth Hokage, but nobody knew it! He hadn't received the treatment he deserved; instead, nearly everyone in the village had despised him from childhood.

He was better off than Hyuga Neji, too. Neji was a member of the Hyuga Clan and supposedly a genius, but so what? He had been born into the Branch House, and in the end, he couldn't escape becoming a "Caged Bird."

Kamizuki spent most of his infancy lost in a cycle of self-hypnosis and wild daydreams.

Perhaps it was because Hyuga Kamizuki had been reincarnated from another world.

From the moment he was born, he began to show how different he was. He wasn't like other babies at all. It was as if he had been born with something called a "protagonist's halo."

Hyuga Huayan was Hyuga Hiashi's wife and the birth mother of Hinata Hyuga and Hyuga Kamizuki.

She spent every day and night by Hinata and Kamizuki's side.

She was a gentle, kind woman, blessed with all the virtues of a mother. She was a good wife.

In his previous life on Earth, Kamizuki had lived in a single-parent household. When he was very young, his mother had gone away to work. Over time, being apart from his father for so long had gradually driven a wedge between them, and eventually his parents divorced.

So Kamizuki had never known a mother's love. In this life, with Hyuga Huayan, he found all the motherly love he had missed out on in his previous one.
