After Genma Shiranui officially announced that Mai Shiranui had joined the Genma Team, Kamizuki completely lost his composure.

Kamizuki stared at Genma Shiranui and began to mutter to himself with a look of utter unhappiness. At first, his voice was so low that even Genma, Mangetsu, and Mai—all of whom were ninjas—could not hear what he was grumbling about.

It was only later that they managed to make out what Kamizuki was saying, though hearing it didn't necessarily mean they understood it, as Kamizuki was speaking in a dialect from a certain region in China.

What on earth was Kamizuki going on about?

They only heard Kamizuki repeating:

"I was so happy today to see the new teammate, why did you have to say such things? So sad... so mushroom... here, for the first time for a girl, so... so mushroom... so sad, why did you have to say such things?... So sad... so mushroom..."

When Kamizuki first saw a girl named Mai Shiranui appear in this world of Naruto, he had been worried that this Mai Shiranui might have transmigrated from the King of Fighters world just to steal his livelihood.

Kamizuki, who was already struggling to compete for resources with Naruto, the Child of Prophecy, while also having to deal with the powerhouses of this plane, was already under enough pressure. Now, another Mai Shiranui had arrived, looking to snatch his bread and butter.

Once that was done, Genma Shiranui accepted several B-rank missions to help the three of them build some synergy.

For the next week or so, Genma arranged these types of missions for the trio.

During the previous mission to protect the Feudal Lord of the Land of Waves, Genma had realized that there were issues with the team's coordination, so this time he wanted to focus heavily on teamwork and synergy.

After a week of simple missions, the synergy and coordination between Kamizuki, Mangetsu, and Mai had improved significantly.

Having finished a week of synergy training, the new Genma Team, led by Genma Shiranui, received an A-rank mission.

The details of this A-rank mission were as follows:

A special request from the village chief of Santa Village in the Land of Fire to the Hidden Leaf Village.

At some point, a bandit appeared in the mountain forest to the east of Santa Village, specializing in robbing travelers passing through the area.

According to the descriptions of the robbed villagers, the bandit was suspected to be a ninja from some village, though his specific strength was unclear.

Let's be reasonable! The powerhouses of this world are ninjas; once ordinary people hear the word "ninja," they lose all will to resist, let alone determine how strong the attacker is.

That was why the village chief of Santa Village was willing to pay a high price to commission the Hidden Leaf Village for this A-rank mission.

Just as Kamizuki was comparing the figures of Sakura Mangetsu and Mai Shiranui, he suddenly saw Adou, who was currently in Mai's arms.

After walking for half a day, the four of them finally arrived at Santa Village, a small mountain village located north of the Hidden Leaf Village.

There were villagers walking in twos and threes, some carrying hoes, others carrying water, and two or three children playing in the village, bringing a touch of vitality to the quiet little hamlet.
