Generally, after summoning beasts sign a contract with a human, they continue to live within their own summoning space.

Only when summoned by the person with whom they have signed the contract do they appear to assist their contractor in battle.

The duration that these summoned beasts can remain in the world is determined by the strength of the contractor's abilities, after which they return to the summoning space.

After hearing the message relayed by Hiashi, Kamizuki respectfully bid him farewell. He spent a while longer playing with Hinata, Hanabi, and the pet-like Adou before coaxing the girls off to bed.

Exhausted from his journey to the Firefly Cave, Kamizuki took Adou back to his own room to rest.

It was another crisp, clear morning. Kamizuki, Hinata, and Hanabi finished their morning training, changed clothes, and ate breakfast. Because Hanabi had school, she left early.

Not long after Hanabi departed, Kamizuki and Hinata also headed out, as Hinata and her team had to complete a mission under the guidance of Kurenai Yuhi.

At a fork in the road, Hinata and Kamizuki parted ways as she headed toward her team's meeting point. Watching Hinata leave with a happy smile on her face, Kamizuki couldn't help but be infected by her joy.

Only after Hinata's figure disappeared did Kamizuki continue on his way toward the Hokage Rock.

Naturally, following right behind Kamizuki was the adorable little dog—the very same Adou he had brought back from the Firefly Cave.

Kamizuki had originally had no intention of bringing Adou out; in fact, he had told the dog to stay home before leaving, and it hadn't objected.

But not long after he started walking, Hinata discovered that Adou had been secretly tailing them the whole time, and in the end, Kamizuki had no choice but to bring it along.

Upon arriving at the top of the Hokage Rock, Kamizuki saw Sakura Mangetsu chatting and laughing with another girl.

Seeing Sakura Mangetsu in such high spirits, Kamizuki felt relieved; it seemed she had recovered from the incident involving Taichi's sacrifice.

Kamizuki walked up to greet Sakura Mangetsu before turning his attention to the other girl she had been talking to.

The girl was wearing a homemade fiery-red kimono, possessed a very hot figure, and had long brown hair tied into a single ponytail that swayed behind her. She looked to be about the same age as Sakura Mangetsu.

Looking at her attire, Kamizuki asked uncertainly: "Are you... Mai Shiranui?"

Hearing Kamizuki's question, the girl turned to face him, wearing a sweet smile as she said: "Hello! Kamizuki-kun, long time no see. I am Mai Shiranui."

As Mai Shiranui turned around with that sweet smile on her face, her expression caused Kamizuki's heart to skip a beat.

Kamizuki was stunned for a moment before he snapped back to reality, rubbing his head in embarrassment as he awkwardly said: "Sorry! Mai-nee, it's been a few years, I almost didn't recognize you."

Seeing Kamizuki's dazed, naive expression and hearing his words, Mai Shiranui found him quite amusing and decided to tease him.

Mai Shiranui swayed her slender waist, strolled over to Kamizuki's side, and draped her left arm over his right shoulder, leaning against him.

She whispered into his ear with breath as fragrant as orchids: "How could you almost not recognize me? That's really disappointing!"
