Background / History

Minato served as the leader of a team including Kakashi and Amada during the Rōran mission. He briefed them on Anrokuzan’s control of the kingdom, the risk of Sunagakure interference, and the need to assess the situation carefully before acting 56.

During the Rōran operation, he used diversions and the Flying Thunder God to support his team’s infiltration of the Dragon Vein Altar. He confronted the Dragon Vein-powered Anrokuzan directly, summoned Gamabunta, and relocated the giant puppet to alter the battlefield 59 60 61.

His battlefield reputation grew to the point that the Tsuchikage reportedly requested Minato by name before retreating. Other shinobi regarded him as the greatest ninja beneath the Sannin, while even normally proud Hyuga clan members showed him respect 91.
