Taelan Fordring pulled Jaina into his arms and kissed her on the lips. Usually, Jaina was the one who initiated their kisses. Jaina closed her eyes, overcome with emotion.
Girls tended to mature earlier than boys. They were often bolder, too. A milky scent from Jaina drifted into Taelan Fordring's nose.
Taelan Fordring knew that you could only smell someone's natural fragrance if your body was drawn to them. Jaina rarely used perfume or scented oils.
The prolonged kiss left her a little short of breath. Perhaps because they knew each other so well, she wasn't shy. She simply kept her eyes closed and enjoyed the moment.
Taelan Fordring ended their wonderful embrace. He leaned in and pressed his lips near Jaina's adorable little ear.
Because of the difference in their worlds' power levels, they looked like a young couple in love. Taelan Fordring seemed taller and more imposing. But he still had no beard, and they both looked so young. They had plenty of time ahead of them, but the future was uncertain.
Taelan Fordring said lightly, "Jaina, I have to say goodbye."
"I don't know how this mission will end."
"After all, we might face Deathwing. If—if I don't make it back..."
"You have to live well. There's still so much time ahead of you, and you're still young. When the time comes, forget about me and bravely pursue your own happiness."
"Goodbye, my little angel!"
As long as the Bronze Dragon Aspect didn't intervene, he had a good chance. But who could guarantee what the future held?
His words shook the confidence Jaina had built on Taelan Fordring's formidable strength.
That was right. Krasus had said it was
