Arc 2The Nine-Tails Incident

Xuanye turned Root’s failed assassination attempt into a costly setback for Danzo, then used his Susanoo to stop the Nine-Tails from destroying Konoha. After Minato and Kushina died, Xuanye took responsibility for Naruto and steered suspicion for the attack toward Danzo, leaving Hiruzen’s leadership weakened and Xuanye pursuing the Hokage position.

  • Xuanye exposed the Root operatives’ attack as treason, kept the incident quiet, and made the Yamanaka Clan pay the Uchiha compensation after Inabi confronted them.
  • Danzo’s attempts to recruit clan members for Root failed, while Xuanye’s new Security Division batons curbed street crime and blocked Root from taking orphans.
  • A masked man freed the Nine-Tails during Kushina’s childbirth, and Xuanye disobeyed Fugaku’s caution by awakening his Mangekyō and unleashing a purple Susanoo strike that carved a vast gorge.
  • Minato sealed half the Nine-Tails into Naruto and the other half into himself before dying, after asking Xuanye to protect Naruto and keep his parentage secret until Naruto sought answers.
  • Xuanye entrusted Naruto to Mikoto, received Flying Thunder God training and a lottery draw, and gained Misaka Mikoto’s Electromaster ability.
  • At the village meeting, Xuanye challenged Danzo’s accusations against the Uchiha and made Danzo’s covered Sharingan and ambitions fuel suspicion that he had caused the Nine-Tails Incident.
  • Xuanye demanded a public investigation, led the Uchiha out of the meeting, and declared they would reclaim their transplanted Sharingan and punish those responsible.
  • Hiruzen came to suspect Danzo had orchestrated the disaster and recognized that the village no longer trusted him, while Danzo warned that the Uchiha must not control Naruto.
Chapters 26–50 Vol. 1 Read

Ch. 26Mirror Flower, Water Moon

Xuanye used Mirror Flower, Water Moon to make Root’s assassins attack one another, then ordered the Uchiha Security Force to identify them and keep the incident quiet. Shisui arrived urging him to treat the attack as a misunderstanding, leaving Xuanye surprised that Shisui defended Danzo.

  • Yamanaka Fu tried to kill Xuanye but realized too late that Mirror Flower, Water Moon had deceived the Root operatives into attacking their allies.
  • Xuanye considered Danzo’s motives, the Nine-Tails’ power, and the worsening vision in his left eye.
  • Xuanye summoned the Uchiha Security Force, called the attack treason, and ordered the bodies taken away for identification and their families made to pay.
  • Inabi urged Xuanye to confront Danzo, but Xuanye told him to keep the incident quiet and return first.
  • The Security Division identified the dead as Root operatives before Anbu arrived.
  • Shisui asked Xuanye not to act rashly and suggested clearing up the attack with Hiruzen and Danzo, prompting Xuanye to question why he was defending Danzo.

Ch. 27Shisui Urges Restraint for the Greater Good

Xuanye reassured Shisui that he would not attack Danzo or Root, but decided to retaliate by targeting the families and clans of the Root Shinobi who had attacked him. Uchiha Inabi confronted the Yamanaka Clan with Yamanaka Fu’s corpse, leaving Yamanaka Inoichi facing a public accusation.

  • Shisui urged Xuanye to put the greater good first and avoid conflict with Konoha’s leadership, and Xuanye dismissed his appeal.
  • Xuanye told Shisui he would not go after Danzo or Root, while privately deciding not to let the attack go unanswered.
  • Uchiha Inabi took two Uchiha elites to the Yamanaka compound and publicly accused the clan of attacking the Security Division captain and rebelling against Konoha’s laws.
  • Yamanaka Inoichi confronted Inabi, learned that Yamanaka Fu had allegedly attacked the Security Division captain, and refused to admit the accusation.

Ch. 28Shifting the Contradiction

Uchiha Inabi confronted Yamanaka Inoichi over Yamanaka Fu’s death and negotiated fifty million ryō in compensation. Inoichi, puzzled by the Uchiha’s behavior, went to consult Nara Shikaku, who already knew what had happened.

  • Inabi rejected Inoichi’s attempt to blame Root and provoked the Yamanaka jōnin, but Inoichi ordered them to stand down.
  • Inoichi weighed the risk of provoking the Uchiha and asked Inabi what they wanted.
  • Inabi led the discussion to the clan reception room and secured fifty million ryō in compensation.
  • Inoichi went to Nara Shikaku for advice, but Shikaku said he already knew what had happened.

Ch. 29Uchiha's Reputation Couldn't Sink Any Lower

Nara Shikaku interpreted Uchiha Genya’s letter as a warning for the Ino-Shika-Cho clans to stay out of the Uchiha–Hokage Faction conflict, and advised Yamanaka Inoichi to end the dispute and distance his clan from Danzo. Shikaku suspected Genya’s moves could undermine Root by turning Konoha’s clans against supplying it with recruits.

  • Yamanaka Inoichi read Genya’s letter, and Nara Shikaku explained that it warned the Ino-Shika-Cho clans not to aid either side while promising Genya would not lead a coup or put them in a difficult position.
  • Yamanaka Inoichi said the Uchiha had demanded fifty million ryo in compensation, and Nara Shikaku advised him to pay and let the matter end.
  • Nara Shikaku warned Yamanaka Inoichi against sending more clan members to Danzo and said he suspected Genya was setting up a larger plan.
  • Nara Shikaku reasoned that Genya’s actions could make other clans stop providing talented recruits to Root, leaving Danzo with fewer ways to build elite Shinobi.

Ch. 30Splitting the Take Fifty-Fifty

Uchiha Genya collected emotional distress compensation from several clans after Root’s failed attack, then demanded that Inabi turn over nearly all the money he had gathered. Danzo let the Uchiha alienate Konoha’s smaller clans while suspecting that Uchiha elites had helped Genya defeat Root.

  • Nara Shikaku decided the Ino-Shika-Cho Clans should avoid Danzo’s faction, fearing they could not withstand the Uchiha if the Hokage did not intervene.
  • Inabi returned with compensation from the Yamanaka Clan and smaller clans, and Xuanye made him hand over nearly all the proceeds.
  • Xuanye told Inabi that the Security Division would soon undergo a complete transformation in Konoha, but kept his plans secret.
  • Danzo refused to help the clans seeking compensation and welcomed the Uchiha’s growing unpopularity.
  • Danzo wondered whether Uchiha elites had been waiting near Xuanye after Root’s nine attackers failed to return.

Ch. 31Little Sun's Frustration

After Root failed to kill Uchiha Genya, Shimura Danzō tried to recruit jōnin from the Ino-Shika-Cho Clans and met their refusal. He complained to Sarutobi Hiruzen, who urged him not to alienate the clans, but Danzō remained unconcerned.

  • Shimura Danzō ordered Aburame Torune to demand one jōnin each from the Yamanaka, Nara, and Akimichi Clans for Root.
  • Aburame Torune reported that the clans had refused, so Shimura Danzō decided to visit them himself.
  • Shimura Danzō went to the Hokage Office and told Sarutobi Hiruzen that Root's attempt to kill Uchiha Genya had failed and Yamanaka Fu had died.
  • Namikaze Minato challenged Shimura Danzō for attacking a fellow village ninja, but Danzō rebuked him and Minato returned to his paperwork.
  • Shimura Danzō explained that the Ino-Shika-Cho Clans had refused his demand for jōnin, and Sarutobi Hiruzen warned him not to alienate the Hokage Faction's allies.
  • Shimura Danzō dismissed Sarutobi Hiruzen's warning and showed no concern about offending the clans.

Ch. 32Putting Konoha in Order

Sarutobi Hiruzen reprimanded Shimura Danzō and ordered him to stop provoking the Uchiha, while Xuanye’s batons helped the Uchiha Security Force suppress street trouble and lower Konoha’s crime rate. Xuanye realized Orochimaru had disappeared because he had turned his attention to forbidden techniques and pursuing a perfect Uchiha body.

  • Sarutobi Hiruzen told Shimura Danzō to stop stirring up trouble with the Uchiha, and Danzō left after warning that Hiruzen would regret it.
  • Xuanye equipped the Uchiha Security Force with rubber batons, and its members beat and fined people who caused trouble in the streets.
  • Konoha’s villagers avoided minor disputes to keep the Security Division away, and the crime rate fell as Namikaze Minato gained more time at home.
  • Xuanye discovered that Mitaraishi Anko and Orochimaru had disappeared, and he reconsidered why Orochimaru had not responded to his message.
  • Xuanye concluded that Orochimaru had become fixated on forbidden techniques and obtaining a perfect Uchiha body after recognizing the power of kekkei genkai.

Ch. 33Danzō's Killing Intent Toward Sarutobi Hiruzen

Shimura Danzō’s attempts to recruit for Root angered Konoha’s clans and drew a furious reprimand from Sarutobi Hiruzen. When Hiruzen declared Danzō would never become Hokage while he lived, Danzō silently resolved to kill him as Namikaze Minato prepared to intervene.

  • Shimura Danzō failed to recruit jōnin and gifted children from major clans, while the Uchiha Security Force repeatedly stopped Root from taking orphans from the Konoha Orphanage.
  • Shimura Danzō demanded recruits from the Mitokado and Utatane families, prompting Mitokado Homura and Utatane Koharu to complain to Sarutobi Hiruzen.
  • Sarutobi Hiruzen summoned Shimura Danzō and angrily warned him to stop targeting Konoha’s clans and his old comrades’ families.
  • Sarutobi Hiruzen told Shimura Danzō that Namikaze Minato could remain Hokage for decades and that Danzō would never become Hokage while Hiruzen lived.
  • Shimura Danzō developed murderous intent toward Sarutobi Hiruzen, and Namikaze Minato readied a Tri-Pronged Kunai in case Danzō attacked.

Ch. 34The Night of the Nine-Tails Begins

Uchiha Sasuke was born, and Fugaku named him in honor of Sarutobi Sasuke, revealing his political hopes. As Uzumaki Kushina went into labor under heavy protection, a masked man reached the village, and the Nine-Tails’ seal began to shake.

  • Danzo left Hiruzen after failing to secure support, then vowed to use the Shimura Clan to pursue the Hokage position.
  • Fugaku named his newborn son Sasuke after Sarutobi Sasuke, while Itachi promised to keep his little brother safe.
  • Minato and Hiruzen led a secret operation to protect Kushina during childbirth, unaware that a masked man had slipped past the village’s defenses.
  • The masked man watched Konoha and vowed revenge on Minato for Rin’s death.
  • Kushina began giving birth as Minato reinforced her weakening seal, which then started shaking violently.

Ch. 35Extracting the Nine-Tails

Minato and Kushina welcomed their son Naruto, but a masked man attacked during the birth, killed Biwako, and freed the Nine-Tails from Kushina. Minato saved Naruto and rescued Kushina from the Nine-Tails, but the tailed beast had already been extracted and Kushina was near death.

  • Biwako delivered Naruto, and Minato and Kushina rejoiced over their newborn son.
  • A masked man killed Biwako, seized Naruto, and demanded that Minato leave Kushina and the Nine-Tails alone.
  • As Kushina's seal weakened, the masked man threw Naruto into the air, but Minato caught him and escaped with him after spotting Explosive Tags on the swaddling cloth.
  • The masked man used Kamui to free the Nine-Tails in Konoha and controlled it with his Mangekyō.
  • The Nine-Tails attacked Kushina, but Minato returned and rescued her; the Nine-Tails had already been extracted, leaving Kushina close to death.

Ch. 36The Long-Awaited Opportunity

The Nine-Tails rampaged through Konoha after the Masked Man extracted it from Kushina, while Minato prepared to stop its attack. Xuanye mobilized the Uchiha Security Division to rescue civilians, but Fugaku blocked him, citing the Hokage’s orders and Root’s presence.

  • The Masked Man taunted Minato as Kushina lay dying, then vanished while the Nine-Tails prepared a Tailed Beast Bomb aimed at Konoha.
  • Kushina restrained the Nine-Tails with Adamantine Sealing Chains, and Minato readied himself to defend the village as purple lightning flashed from the Uchiha Compound.
  • Sarutobi Hiruzen discovered Minato, Kushina, and their child missing, then ordered the Anbu to evacuate villagers and the Sealing Squad to confront the Nine-Tails.
  • Danzo refused to deploy Root without his command, despite Aburame Torune warning him that Konoha was under attack.
  • Xuanye sensed sinister Chakra, mobilized the Security Division to rescue noncombatants, and was stopped by Fugaku, who forbade action without the Hokage’s orders.

Ch. 37Lightning... Ten Thousand Calamities!

Xuanye confronted Fugaku over his refusal to deploy the Uchiha against the Nine-Tails, then revealed his Mangekyō power and manifested a colossal lightning Susanoo. He began unleashing a massive lightning attack over Konoha, leaving Fugaku and the assembled Uchiha stunned.

  • Xuanye argued that the Uchiha had a duty to defend Konoha and warned Fugaku that staying behind would make the clan look cowardly.
  • Fugaku ordered everyone to remain on the clan grounds, but Xuanye claimed he could face the Nine-Tails from there.
  • Xuanye awakened his Mangekyō and formed a giant purple Susanoo unlike the one in the Uchiha records.
  • Xuanye revealed that his right-eye technique, Saha World, let him temporarily manifest imagined things, though powerful creations rapidly consumed his ocular power.
  • Xuanye drew Musō Isshin from his chest and raised a vast Eye of Thunder Punishment over Konoha.
  • Xuanye declared “Lightning... Ten Thousand Calamities!” as his Susanoo formed a gigantic sword of lightning.

Ch. 38Thoughtless Blade

Uchiha Genya unleashed Susanoo’s Thoughtless Blade, destroying the Nine-Tails and carving a vast canyon beyond Konoha. He then took command of the Uchiha Security Division and hurried to finish off the beast.

  • Uchiha Genya’s Susanoo struck the Nine-Tails with the Thoughtless Blade, and Minato escaped with Flying Thunder God as the beast broke free of Obito’s control.
  • The strike swallowed the Nine-Tails, part of Konoha, and several kilometers of forest, leaving a massive canyon crackling with purple lightning.
  • Sarutobi Hiruzen, Danzo, and Konoha’s clans were stunned by the attack, while Danzo resolved to continue plotting against the Uchiha Family.
  • Uchiha Genya released Susanoo and ordered the Security Division to move out, and the Uchiha followed his command despite Fugaku’s position as clan head.
  • Fugaku wondered whether Genya’s Susanoo had wielded a divine weapon, while Genya rushed toward the Nine-Tails to finish it off.

Ch. 39Minato's Request

Xuanye arrived after splitting the Nine-Tails, where Minato mourned Kushina and revealed his plan to seal half the beast inside Naruto. Minato asked Xuanye to protect his son, leaving Xuanye surprised by Minato’s distrust of Konoha’s leadership.

  • Xuanye reached the battlefield and found the Nine-Tails divided into two masses of Chakra, while Minato returned with Kushina’s body and the crying Naruto.
  • Minato asked Xuanye whether he had made the slash that cut the Nine-Tails in two, and Xuanye confirmed it.
  • Minato told Xuanye that a Masked Man with a Mangekyō Sharingan had abducted Kushina and escaped using Space-Time Ninjutsu.
  • Xuanye offered to kill the Nine-Tails and capture it later, but Minato decided to use the Dead Demon Consuming Seal to take half of it with him and seal the other half inside Naruto.
  • Minato asked Xuanye to look after Naruto, explaining that he did not trust Konoha’s leaders to keep the boy safe from being used as a weapon.

Ch. 40The Tragedy of Konoha

Xuanye received Minato’s Rasengan training scroll as Minato prepared to seal the Nine-Tails and die alongside Kushina. Minato and Kushina died, leaving Konoha without its Hokage or its Nine-Tails Jinchuriki as other villages sensed its weakness.

  • Minato gave Xuanye his Rasengan training notes, but refused to hand over the village’s Flying Thunder God scroll.
  • Minato told Xuanye that Kushina had named their son Uzumaki Naruto and asked Xuanye not to tell Naruto about his parents unless he sought answers.
  • Minato used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal to split the Nine-Tails between Naruto and himself, then died as the Death God swallowed his soul.
  • Xuanye sealed away Minato and Kushina’s bodies after watching them die, having chosen not to save them.
  • Konoha suffered the loss of Minato and Kushina despite Xuanye and the Uchiha limiting the Nine-Tails’ damage, leaving the village vulnerable to rival nations.

Ch. 41Fear in Obito's Heart

Obito and Black Zetsu assessed the threat posed by Uchiha Genya after his devastating attack, and Obito resolved to wait until Genya went blind before targeting him and the Uchiha clan. Meanwhile, Xuanye refused Sarutobi Hiruzen's demand to take custody of Minato's child, insisting that he would protect the orphan himself.

  • Obito watched the immense gorge carved through the forest and feared that Genya's Susanoo weapon might be able to strike him even while he was intangible.
  • Black Zetsu agreed that Genya's Mangekyō would eventually go blind, and Obito planned to kill him and wipe out the Uchiha clan afterward.
  • Sarutobi Hiruzen arrived at the scene, saw the devastation, and resolved that Konoha must not become an enemy of the Uchiha.
  • Xuanye insisted that Hiruzen address him as Captain of the Security Division when Hiruzen asked him to let the village care for Minato's child.
  • Hiruzen argued that the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki had to remain under village control, but Xuanye refused and said he was not asking permission.

Ch. 42Mikoto's Hesitation

Uchiha Genya rebuked Sarutobi Hiruzen and refused to identify who had unleashed the powerful slash before returning to the Uchiha Clan Compound. He entrusted Naruto to Uchiha Mikoto, who promised to raise him and asked Genya not to let his disagreement with Fugaku turn into bloodshed.

  • Genya condemned Hiruzen for abandoning the Will of Fire, and Hiruzen demanded that every Uchiha jonin attend a conference the next day.
  • Hiruzen asked whether Genya or Fugaku had made the slash, but Genya dismissed the question and left.
  • Genya returned to the clan compound and asked Mikoto to care for Minato's orphaned son, Naruto.
  • Mikoto learned that Minato had died and promised to raise Naruto as her own.
  • Mikoto apologized for Fugaku's stubbornness, and Genya promised there would be no bloodshed as long as Fugaku did not cross the line again.

Ch. 43Flying Thunder God Technique

After Genya cemented his authority among the Uchiha, Mikoto discovered Naruto’s seal and kept its secret, while Genya received and began practicing the Flying Thunder God Technique. He then started his Myriad World Lottery draw.

  • Mikoto accepted that Genya had become the Uchiha’s de facto head and resolved to keep Naruto’s Jinchuriki seal secret from everyone, including Fugaku.
  • Genya settled his mission and received an S-rated reward: a Myriad World Lottery draw and Flying Thunder God Technique training experience.
  • Genya merged the training experience and learned the technique’s principles in a simulated space.
  • Genya struggled to mark a kunai and teleport with Flying Thunder God, realizing that he had learned the technique faster than his hands could perform it.
  • Genya decided Flying Thunder God’s mobility would be useful and asked the system to begin the Myriad World Lottery draw.

Ch. 44The Lightning Dancing at Your Fingertips...

Xuanye acquired Misaka Mikoto’s Electromaster ability, which transformed into powerful Lightning Release Chakra and strengthened his bond with Musō Isshin. After the Nine-Tails attack, Konoha’s jonin assembled to face the village’s losses, while the Uchiha’s strength and loyalty to Xuanye unsettled the other clans.

  • Xuanye drew Misaka Mikoto and gained Electromaster, causing his Chakra reserves and Lightning Release power to surge beyond Kage Level.
  • Xuanye realized he could cast Lightning Release techniques without Hand Seals and that Musō Isshin was beginning to accept him.
  • Xuanye went to sleep while Konoha continued cleaning up after the Nine-Tails attack.
  • Sarutobi Hiruzen summoned Konoha’s jonin to the Hokage Building after the Fourth Hokage and his wife died in battle.
  • Orochimaru and the other leaders saw the Uchiha sitting behind Xuanye, whose power had earned the clan a position above ordinary village affairs.

Ch. 45Arrogance

At a jonin meeting after the Nine-Tails attack killed Minato and his wife, Danzo accused the Uchiha of plotting the disaster, while Genya challenged his claims and defended the clan. The meeting ended with Danzo insisting the Uchiha remained the prime suspects for controlling the Nine-Tails with a Sharingan.

  • Hiruzen told the jonin that the Nine-Tails had broken free, Minato and his wife had died, and Konoha had suffered devastating losses.
  • Danzo called the disaster a plot by the Uchiha, but the clan members ignored him and focused on Genya.
  • Genya confronted Danzo over implying that he had betrayed Konoha, and his pressure left Danzo struggling to face him.
  • Danzo pointed to witnesses who had seen the Sharingan in the Nine-Tails' eyes and demanded an explanation from Genya.
  • Genya argued that someone could have transplanted a Sharingan taken from a dead ninja, so the eye alone did not prove the Uchiha were responsible.
  • Danzo rejected Genya's defense and argued that no one would dare transplant an Uchiha Sharingan, leaving the clan under suspicion.

Ch. 46This Had to Be Danzo's Doing!

Xuanye challenged Danzo’s accusations against the Uchiha by arguing that Danzo had the strongest motive to cause the Nine-Tails Incident and kill Minato and his wife. The gathered shinobi began suspecting Danzo, leaving him furious and unable to offer more than a denial.

  • Danzo accused the Uchiha of using the Sharingan to control the Nine-Tails, while Xuanye smiled and questioned his claim.
  • Xuanye told the gathering to judge the culprit by motive and pointed out that Danzo wanted to become Fifth Hokage and had sought control of the Nine-Tails.
  • The shinobi in the meeting hall, including Sarutobi Hiruzen, turned their suspicions toward Danzo, while Orochimaru watched with amusement.
  • Danzo realized Xuanye had made him the prime suspect and protested that the accusations were baseless.

Ch. 47Pot Kage

Xuanye turned suspicion of the Nine-Tails Incident toward Danzo by linking him to the masked attacker, leaving Danzo exposed as the village’s prime suspect. Hiruzen realized that Danzo’s attempt to hide his right eye had made the accusations harder to dismiss.

  • Danzo denied responsibility for the Nine-Tails Incident and accused the Uchiha Family, while Hiruzen backed a demand for an explanation about the Sharingan in the Nine-Tails’ eyes.
  • Xuanye told Hiruzen that the Fourth Hokage had described the masked attacker as having a Sharingan and hair matching Danzo’s, then asked Danzo to uncover his right eye.
  • Danzo covered his bandaged eye, prompting the gathered Shinobi and Hyuuga Clan members to regard him with greater suspicion and hostility.
  • Danzo refused to prove his innocence and claimed the Uchiha Family had plotted against him.
  • Hiruzen concluded that Danzo had become the prime suspect, while Xuanye took satisfaction in seeing Danzo falsely accused.

Ch. 48Openly Shielding Him

Xuanye pressed Shimura Danzō over the Sharingan hidden beneath his bandages, inflaming the Uchiha and casting suspicion on Sarutobi Hiruzen when he intervened. As mistrust spread through the gathered jōnin, Xuanye received a quest to become Konoha’s Fifth Hokage within a year.

  • The Uchiha prepared to attack Danzo after his actions revealed that he had a Sharingan in his right eye.
  • Xuanye challenged Danzo to remove his bandages or let Hyuga Hiashi inspect his eye, while Hiashi prepared to use his Byakugan.
  • Sarutobi Hiruzen stopped Hiashi, prompting the gathered jōnin and village advisors to suspect that he had enabled Danzo’s actions.
  • Xuanye considered how to undermine Hiruzen’s and Danzo’s reputations without killing them, and the system issued a quest for him to become the Fifth Hokage within one year.
  • Xuanye decided that suspicion and hatred toward Hiruzen and Danzo would grow over time and help him pursue the Hokage position.

Ch. 49Danzo, You've Lost Your Way!

At the all-jonin conference, Xuanye forced Sarutobi Hiruzen to face public outrage over Shimura Danzō’s suspected role in the Fourth Hokage’s death and the Nine-Tails disaster. Xuanye left after threatening consequences if Hiruzen buried the investigation and declaring that the Uchiha would reclaim every transplanted Sharingan.

  • Xuanye accused Sarutobi Hiruzen of shielding Shimura Danzō and challenged him to clear Danzō’s name through a public investigation.
  • Danzo insisted that everything he had done was for the village, convincing Sarutobi Hiruzen that Danzo had caused Minato’s death and the Nine-Tails disaster.
  • Sarutobi Hiruzen again demanded a thorough investigation, disappointing the gathered shinobi and Anbu, including Kakashi.
  • Xuanye said the investigation’s results had to be made public, warned that concealing a Hokage’s assassination would destroy the Hokage’s prestige, and led the Uchiha away.
  • Before leaving, Xuanye declared that the Uchiha would reclaim their Sharingan and exact vengeance on anyone who transplanted one.

Ch. 50Meeting Adjourned, the Hokage Abandoned by All

After the meeting collapsed, Sarutobi Hiruzen came to believe that Shimura Danzō had orchestrated the Nine-Tails Incident and killed Minato and Kushina. Both men were left isolated and distrusted, until Danzo tried to shift Hiruzen’s attention to the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki and the Uchiha.

  • Xuanye left the meeting with the Security Division, and the clan heads, civilian jonin, and most Anbu followed, convinced that Shimura Danzō was behind the Nine-Tails Incident.
  • Kakashi glared at Danzo as he departed, blaming him for the deaths of his father, Minato, and Kushina.
  • Sarutobi Hiruzen dismissed the remaining Anbu and confronted Danzo, whose angry denial only strengthened Hiruzen’s suspicion that he had orchestrated the incident.
  • Hiruzen concluded that Danzo had planned Minato and Kushina’s deaths and realized that the village no longer trusted him.
  • Danzo insisted that he had been framed, then warned Hiruzen that the Uchiha must not gain control of the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki.
