Xuanye used the Uchiha’s anger and the Security Division’s authority to strengthen the clan’s position against Konoha’s leadership. After Hiruzen approved an expansion of the Division, Danzō ordered Root to attack Xuanye, who awakened his Mangekyō during the ambush and faced Yamanaka Fu’s Mind Transfer Jutsu.

• Genya passed Kakashi’s jonin exam, awakened the Mangekyō at the Clan Assembly, and urged Fugaku to stop compromising with Konoha’s leaders.
• Xuanye took command of the Security Division and provoked public conflict by arresting and executing a villager, then defended the Division’s actions to Hiruzen.
• Xuanye persuaded Fugaku to give him control of the Security Division and predicted that Hiruzen would demand the Uchiha move their compound to the village outskirts.
• Fugaku revealed his Mangekyō during negotiations, and Xuanye secured Hiruzen’s appointment of him as commander of the Konoha Guard Force.

After Minato and Kushina died, Xuanye took responsibility for Naruto and steered suspicion for the attack toward Danzo, leaving Hiruzen’s leadership weakened and Xuanye pursuing the Hokage position.

• Xuanye exposed the Root operatives’ attack as treason, kept the incident quiet, and made the Yamanaka Clan pay the Uchiha compensation after Inabi confronted them.
• Danzo’s attempts to recruit clan members for Root failed, while Xuanye’s new Security Division batons curbed street crime and blocked Root from taking orphans.
• A masked man freed the Nine-Tails during Kushina’s childbirth, and Xuanye disobeyed Fugaku’s caution by awakening his Mangekyō and unleashing a purple Susanoo strike that carved a vast gorge.
• Minato sealed half the Nine-Tails into Naruto and the other half into himself before dying, after asking Xuanye to protect Naruto and keep his parentage secret until Naruto sought answers.

Xuanye turned Shisui’s attack by Danzo into a public confrontation, exposed Danzo’s crimes, and killed him before claiming control over the investigation into Root. With the other villages watching Konoha’s upheaval, Xuanye secured Orochimaru’s cooperation and prepared for the struggle to become Fifth Hokage.

• Xuanye stopped Kakashi from attacking Danzo alone and promised to help him avenge Minato and Kushina, while Shisui offered Hiruzen Kotoamatsukami to make Xuanye loyal to Konoha.
• Xuanye confronted Shisui over his divided loyalties, but Danzo stole Shisui’s right Mangekyō, and Xuanye then defeated Shisui’s attempt to use Kotoamatsukami and took both eyes.
• Xuanye absorbed the power of Shisui’s eyes to awaken the Eternal Mangekyō, then forced Orochimaru to cooperate and secured his evidence against Danzo and Root.
• Xuanye led the Uchiha and Shisui to confront Hiruzen, then rallied Konoha’s clan leaders against Danzo as Orochimaru testified about Root’s kidnappings and experiments.

Xuanye strengthened his bid for Hokage by bringing the Hyuga into the Security Division and confronting Sarutobi Hiruzen over Kumogakure and Danzo’s crimes. Jiraiya returned to Konoha and found Kakashi changed, while Fugaku refused to hand Naruto over and affirmed that Xuanye had been entrusted with the child.

• Xuanye recruited Kakashi into the Security Division, and Kakashi removed Obito’s Sharingan to focus on mastering his father’s swordsmanship.
• Xuanye won Hyuga Hiashi’s support by offering Branch Family shinobi equal pay and benefits, and Hiashi agreed to back the Uchiha.
• After a Kumogakure envoy abducted Hinata, Hiashi killed the envoy and rejected Sarutobi Hiruzen’s proposal to surrender Hizashi in return for peace.

• Jiraiya returned to Konoha and met Kakashi at the Uchiha compound, where Fugaku refused to give him Naruto and said Xuanye had been entrusted with the child.
