Below the ring, Wang Yang stood with his arms crossed, his clothes not stained by a single speck of dust. The two white floor tiles beneath his feet remained perfectly intact, appearing remarkably conspicuous.
Seeing this, King Piccolo's pupils contracted violently; his wariness toward Wang Yang now far surpassed that which he felt for Son Goku.
Even Son Goku watched Wang Yang in shock. He had exhausted all his strength just to resist this force and could not remain as relaxed and at ease as Wang Yang.
So strong. I was already struggling to withstand this power, yet Wang Yang is completely unscathed. His strength must be far greater than mine!
"This! This! This!" The others who had crawled out of the crater were struck speechless at the sight of Wang Yang. Everything around them had been leveled, yet the two white tiles under Wang Yang's feet remained untouched.
Yamcha clenched his fists at the sight, his face full of unwillingness. Finally, he loosened his grip and lowered his head in frustration.
Too powerful. He's simply not human!
Wang Yang shook his head slightly as he looked at King Piccolo. To someone with his vast combat experience, King Piccolo's previous attack had been a massive waste of ki.
Son Goku took a deep breath and surged forward, launching a fierce assault on King Piccolo. He beat the demon until he had no room to counterattack, finally delivering a heavy punch that sent King Piccolo crashing to the ground, where he lay motionless.
"Referee, start the count!" Son Goku shouted to the blonde man.
"Right!" The announcer climbed onto the ring and began counting over the motionless King Piccolo in the crater.
"One, two, three..."
"Son Goku is in for some trouble." Wang Yang suddenly chuckled. In his perception, King Piccolo's ki was fluctuating; he seemed to be brewing an attack.
"What?" Bulma asked, stunned.
"Why? Didn't he already win?" Krillin looked at Wang Yang in surprise.
"Not by a long shot!"
"Eight!"
"Nine!"
Just as the announcer was about to call ten, King Piccolo suddenly arched his back and fired a beam of light from his mouth, piercing straight through Son Goku's right chest.
The crowd was terrified by the sight, but Wang Yang remained calm, seemingly entirely unsurprised.
Son Goku had let his guard down, thinking he had defeated King Piccolo, and the demon had seized that exact moment to launch a sneak attack.
After knocking Son Goku down, King Piccolo unleashed a brutal assault on the severely wounded fighter. He broke all four of his limbs before flying high into the air, preparing to condense all his energy for a final strike against the immobile Son Goku below.
"Wang Yang, hurry up and go help Goku!" Bulma grabbed Wang Yang's arm in distress.
Wang Yang nodded slightly, though he wasn't entirely sure if Son Goku could turn the tide in such a situation.
With a flash, he appeared on the ring, looking down at the pained Son Goku with a smile.
"Can you still dodge this? Do you need my help?"
Saiyans were incredibly stubborn; sometimes, even if you helped them, they would consider it meddling. Therefore, in this situation, he had to seek the other party's consent.
"No need. I must defeat him myself!" Son Goku refused Wang Yang's kindness, watching the beam of light descending from the sky draw ever closer.
"As you wish. I'll beat you up later, so don't you dare die!" Wang Yang stopped lingering and flashed back to Bulma's side. He respected Son Goku; in Goku's eyes, victory was sometimes more important than life itself.
"Goku!" Chi-Chi started to rush forward, but Wang Yang grabbed her back with quick reflexes.
"Goku won't let me help. He wants to win on his own," Wang Yang said.
"That idiot!" Chi-Chi bit her lip, her eyes brimming with tears.
"That is Goku," Master Roshi remarked with a sigh, watching the ring intently.
The massive beam of light slammed into the ground, and Wang Yang raised an eyebrow.
A violent explosion erupted, leaving a massive crater on the ring, but Son Goku had vanished without a trace.
"Haha! Hahaha! He has been blasted to ashes by me! Even Shenron won't be able to resurrect you now!" King Piccolo laughed wildly at the sight.
The surrounding crowd was devastated, especially Chi-Chi, who was heartbroken, having become a widow just after getting married.
"He's not dead yet. Why are you so sad?" Wang Yang said indifferently. As his words fell, a small black dot appeared in the sky, growing larger by the second. Son Goku was seen hurtling toward King Piccolo at high speed.
The completely unprepared King Piccolo was sent flying by the impact, landing outside the ring and lying motionless.
"The contestant Demon Junior has fallen out of bounds! Son Goku is the winner!" The announcer looked around for a moment, finally spotted King Piccolo outside the ring, and shouted into his microphone.
"Did I win?" Son Goku lay on the ground, struggling to speak.
Wang Yang watched quietly as Yajirobe emerged from the dirt and fed a Senzu Bean to Son Goku.
Having swallowed the Senzu Bean, Son Goku did a kip-up and began loosening his joints.
"Haha, I've recovered."
"Yajirobe, give me another Senzu Bean!"
"What for? Isn't one enough for you?" Yajirobe grumbled but handed one over to Son Goku anyway.
Under the shocked gazes of the crowd, Son Goku fed a Senzu Bean to King Piccolo, bringing him back to full health.
"Son Goku, you idiot!"
"I lost to you today, so I shall leave for now. But one day, I will defeat you. When that time comes, I will surely conquer the world and let you all know the rule of King Piccolo!" King Piccolo showed no gratitude for Son Goku's help; he slowly floated up, flying higher and higher.
"You get back down here!" Wang Yang suddenly roared, his right hand snapping toward the airborne King Piccolo.
Piccolo's expression shifted to one of shock as his figure plummeted downward, completely against his own will.
The crowd watched this scene in astonishment; how could the fierce and powerful Piccolo be pulled down by Wang Yang so easily?
"You said earlier that you could take on a hundred of me. Now that your fight with Son Goku is over, let's have a proper spar and see how exactly you plan to beat a hundred of me!" Wang Yang looked at the somewhat disheveled Piccolo with a beaming smile.
"Enough talk, bring it on!" Piccolo stood up and roared at Wang Yang, his voice harsh and stern. He knew this guy was not easy to deal with, but as the Great Demon King, he could never back down.
Suddenly, Wang Yang's figure vanished, and immediately after, Piccolo disappeared as well; the two began to clash intensely.
Wang Yang suppressed his ki until it was roughly on par with Piccolo's!
He held firm to the belief that crushing an opponent was not the goal; seeking combat experience was the only way to improve himself.
The two fought from the ground to the sky, and back down from the sky to the ground, the fierce gusts of wind stinging the faces of those watching.
Aside from Son Goku, no one present could clearly track their movements.
As Wang Yang and Piccolo battled, Son Goku watched with a solemn expression, for his own fight with Wang Yang would be next; taking this opportunity to observe Wang Yang's fighting style would be of great help for his upcoming match.
Wang Yang suddenly spotted an opening in Piccolo's chest and landed a violent hammer blow, sending Piccolo reeling as he spat out saliva.
Refusing to let up, Wang Yang unleashed a flurry of combination punches, knocking Piccolo off balance and leaving him unable to control his own body.
