Frieza gritted his teeth as he glared at the three people before him. He cast a sidelong glance at Ye Ming, who stood with his arms crossed, sensing that this Saiyan was the strongest among them.
It had to be said that Frieza truly had a sharp eye, though he secretly swore in his heart: one day, he would make these filthy monkeys pay the price for daring to look down on Emperor Frieza!
Vegeta was about to strike to teach Frieza a lesson, but was stopped by Ye Ming. Ye Ming said to Frieza, "Your current strength is far too weak. I'm afraid Vegeta might kill you again—no, wait, you're already dead anyway."
Hearing such humiliating words, Frieza's face flushed red, and he gripped his fists tightly.
A second later, he calmed down. He suddenly smiled and said to Ye Ming and the others, "You surely didn't come here just to humiliate me, right? You must have some business with me."
One had to say that Frieza's ability to change his expression was truly swift; even Vegeta was surprised by this dramatic display, his mouth twitching slightly.
Frieza flicked his tail, feeling as though he had Ye Ming and the others right where he wanted them!
"Frieza, I suggest you don't get happy too soon. We can let you join us, or we can make you disappear from this world forever—so completely that you won't even be able to enter Hell," Ye Ming said, his eyes cold as he looked at Frieza.
Ye Ming suddenly released a burst of aura toward Frieza. Frieza was so shocked by this immense pressure that he couldn't speak; he was now drenched in cold sweat, his eyes bloodshot.
Frieza was truly terrified. He feared that Ye Ming would destroy him completely, leaving him unable to even enter Hell, let alone be resurrected.
"Ho ho, my apologies. That was rude of me, Frieza. I offer my sincere apologies. If there is anything you need my help with, I will do my utmost," Frieza said cautiously.
Frieza felt that the strength of the monkey before him was simply too overwhelming. He was very confident in his own talent for cultivation, but whether he could reach Ye Ming's level was another matter entirely!
After all, ever since he was defeated by Son Goku, he hadn't trained seriously, living instead like a local tyrant in Hell.
His gaze flicked toward Son Goku, which truly brought back unpleasant memories. At this moment, he had no other choice; when one is under the eaves, one must bow one's head. Frieza was capable of both bending and stretching!
Then there was Vegeta before him. He once thought of Vegeta as his subordinate; he never expected his strength to have grown so formidable. Damn it, I must train to become stronger. Even if I can't beat that Ye Ming, I will make these two monkeys, Son Goku and Vegeta, pay a painful price, Frieza thought to himself.
Ye Ming looked at Frieza calmly and said, "I suspect you are thinking of training to become stronger so you can take revenge on us."
Frieza hurriedly denied it, but at that moment, Ye Ming flashed to his ear and whispered, "Even if one day you can defeat Son Goku and Vegeta, I can still kill you with ease. Do you understand? I don't deny your potential, but compared to me, you are simply not qualified."
These words, like those of a grim reaper, echoed in Frieza's ears. Cold sweat streamed down his head, and the corners of his mouth began to tremble.
Frieza felt the uniqueness of this Saiyan named Ye Ming. It was the first time he had felt such helplessness and even fear in front of an enemy; the only other time he had felt this was before the God of Destruction, Beerus.
Frieza stammered, "This King—no! I, Frieza, swear today that I will never trouble you Saiyans again. I did have that thought just now, though."
Ye Ming interrupted him and continued, "However, I will allow you to seek revenge on Son Goku and Vegeta, provided you do not go for the kill. Otherwise, I will destroy you myself."
Vegeta and Son Goku, standing behind, were stunned by this statement, though they didn't think much of it; after all, the current Frieza didn't even interest them enough to fight.
"Is what you just said true? You aren't playing games with me, are you?" Frieza asked slowly.
Ye Ming nodded and said, "Of course what I say is true. If one day you possess the strength to grind Vegeta and Son Goku into the dirt, that is your own ability, and I certainly won't interfere. The only important point is that you cannot kill them."
Frieza thought to himself: Once I undergo rigorous training and improve my strength, I will definitely go and take revenge on Son Goku and Vegeta. Even if I can't kill them, I can still torture them severely. Heh heh.
Frieza's mind was truly meticulous. He felt that Ye Ming was definitely not bluffing; someone with that level of strength wouldn't speak idly.
What he didn't know was that the aura he had felt earlier was merely the tip of the iceberg of Ye Ming's power.
Vegeta said arrogantly, "Frieza, I'll be waiting for you! Let's see if you beat me into the ground, or if I beat you!"
Seeing such an arrogant Vegeta, Frieza's veins bulged, but he quickly revealed a smile: "Oh my! Vegeta-san, how could I, Frieza, ever be your match? Please forgive my previous offenses!"
Seeing Frieza act this way, Vegeta felt a wave of disgust. He knew Frieza was just putting on a show and was likely cursing him viciously in his heart.
Frieza coughed and changed the subject, saying, "Then, what price must I pay?"
Ye Ming paced around Frieza with his hands behind his back, saying, "In the future, a tournament will be held for the entire universe. You need to join our team to participate. This tournament is hosted by Zeno, the Supreme God above the twelve universes."
"The losing universe might face unpleasant consequences, while winning would certainly be better! There are many powerful warriors in other universes, and even some unexpected ones. Do you understand what I am saying now?"
Frieza was shocked by this, but he quickly regained his composure: "You want me to become a member of your team—that is the core of the discussion, right? Very well, I agree."
As expected of Frieza, he understood immediately. Ye Ming grinned as he looked at the old fox before him.
"Good, you guessed right. But you are merely a candidate. If your attitude had been worse just now, you might not have had the qualification to stand before me," Ye Ming said with a smile.
"Ho ho, I am honored to be a part of your team. I understand the meaning of 'we rise and fall together.' However, I would like to confirm if what you said earlier is true," Frieza said, walking to Ye Ming's side and whispering.
"Oh? Which part? I said quite a lot," Ye Ming said, pretending not to know, even though he was well aware.
"The part about being able to grind Son Goku and Vegeta into the dirt..." Frieza whispered.
After all, he didn't want Son Goku and Vegeta to know he was plotting against them.
"Certainly. My word is my bond. I said if you can beat them, that is your strength!" Ye Ming patted Frieza on the shoulder and whispered.
"Oh my, then I am truly grateful. You said I just can't kill them, but beating them half to death should be acceptable, right?" Frieza asked.
Frieza was indeed a veteran of the underworld, knowing how to exploit loopholes in language. Ye Ming merely gave a faint smile without responding, but Frieza understood the implication.
Son Goku said excitedly, "Frieza, I know you want revenge. Come challenge me once you've finished your training."
Frieza walked calmly to Son Goku's side and said, "Oh my! Oh my! Ho ho, I cannot refuse such a kind offer. You said it yourself, so don't go back on your word!"
Son Goku grinned, "Heh heh, of course. I'll be waiting."
Son Goku and Frieza locked eyes, and both smiled; the look in their eyes was exactly the same as it had been back then!
Ye Ming looked around at the group of villains. It was clear that the aura he had released earlier had terrified them; they were all hiding in the distance, not daring to show their faces, though there were always a few who didn't fear death.
"Alright, this matter is settled. We should go. Frieza, we will use the Dragon Balls to resurrect you. You stay here for now," Ye Ming said as he walked away.
"Ho ho, then I am very grateful. It is no trouble; staying here for a while longer is fine by me," Frieza said with a faint smile.
Just as they were about to leave, that group of former villains suddenly flashed forward to block their path. Vegeta and Son Goku looked at the group of antagonists who had once forced them into bitter struggles, though now, they were nothing more than ants.
Ye Ming's expression turned displeased as he said indifferently, "Everyone, do you have an opinion?"
Suddenly, Babidi stepped forward and said, "We just overheard your conversation with Frieza. Actually, we could also represent our universe in the battle. I hope you will give us a chance."
Frieza was furious upon hearing this; these idiots actually dared to steal his opportunity. He wanted to speak up to stop them.
But the next second, Ye Ming revealed a sinister expression: "First, I choose whoever I want to fight, and I don't need you to come looking for me; you have no qualifications to make requests of me. Second, I hate it when people block my path, especially a bunch of annoying things."
Upon hearing this, Frieza's expression changed, and he immediately took to his heels, fleeing the area at once—his speed was truly remarkable!
The others also sensed the boundless killing intent radiating from Ye Ming and wanted to flash away instantly! Unfortunately, their speed in front of Ye Ming was no faster than an ant crawling!
Ye Ming simply clenched his right hand fiercely toward the void, and as the aura of the Laws twisted, the people before him completely vanished into the void, not even a speck of dust remaining!
Those who survived felt fortunate that they hadn't foolishly picked a side, otherwise, they would have met the same fate as those who had just disappeared!
In the distance, Frieza was stunned by the scene he had just witnessed. He had originally thought Ye Ming was merely intimidating him earlier, but he hadn't expected Ye Ming to actually kill the chicken to scare the monkey!
Frieza was trembling all over, his pupils dilated, and his palms were slick with sweat! He hadn't even seen how those people died, and considering this was Hell, it was truly terrifying!
Beside him, Vegeta and Son Goku were also taken aback by the scene; they hadn't expected Ye Ming to be so ruthless! The corner of Vegeta's mouth twitched slightly; it seemed he had been far too kind in the past.
