Background / History

Ming Xin was born in a seaside village where his ability to see spirits and his cold, dark Martial Soul caused the villagers to label him a “child of ill omen.” A Martial Soul Hall elder had warned him not to cultivate, believing he would become an Evil Soul Master. Despite this treatment, Ming Xin remained gentle and cared deeply for Old Man News, the one villager who had shown him kindness. Before leaving with Lin Beiya and Yue Guan, he brought News Saddle Vine to treat his rheumatism. 88 89

Lin Beiya discovered that Ming Xin possessed Innate Full Soul Power and offered him proper training in Martial Soul City. Ming Xin accepted after settling matters with News, then obtained his first Soul Ring from a Soul-Forgetting Flower in the Star Dou Forest.
