Nature and Distribution

A portion of Honkai energy permeates the sky, land, and sea, having integrated into the world to an extent that lets ordinary people coexist with it. Most Honkai energy remains in imaginary space, isolated from reality as residual entropy created when imaginary numbers anchor to real numbers. 2

When sufficient energy accumulates in reality, it draws further Honkai energy from imaginary space. This escalation produces disasters collectively termed Honkai phenomena. 2

Chang Kong City Great Eruption

Chang Kong City’s concentration broke through a threshold and erupted like an electromagnetic avalanche. The event manifested as a world-spanning lightning strike and storm. 4

The electromagnetic shock disrupted chemical bonds and rendered human technology ineffective within the affected area; even the Hyperion could only remain outside the field and provide transportation. 4

Effects on Living Beings

Erosion

Honkai energy erodes living organisms and can kill those without sufficient resistance before they mutate. Those who endure its influence may become monsters instead. 2

Erosion is also described as information loading: Honkai energy contains immense information data that can integrate into a gene chain and manifest as physical enhancements or supernatural traits. 10

• It can create cellular organelles capable of intaking, storing, and expelling Honkai energy. 10
• It can enhance strength, speed, coordination, sensory abilities, and other biological functions beyond natural limits. 10

Honkai Creatures

Death Troopers and Honkai Beasts are sustained and strengthened by Honkai energy. A Honkai Beast can regenerate damaged tissue as long as it retains sufficient energy. 6

• Honkai Beasts possess bodies through which Honkai energy flows and can use it as the basis of their immense durability and mass. 6

Honkai energy can empower Herrschers and Pseudo-Herrschers, whose cores store both energy and authority. 17

• Sato Yuno’s Pseudo-Herrscher core resides in her heart and contains her power and authority. 17
• A true Herrscher requires a connection to Honkai’s imaginary space, while Fang Jie’s later Honkai development is stated to have reached at least Pseudo-Herrscher level. 24

Carriers and Compatibility

The human body is described as Honkai energy’s most effective carrier. Mechanical utilization has only one-third the efficiency of human use, though both humans and machines suffer continual damage from prolonged exposure. 36

Path Energy

Path energy can resist Honkai erosion but does not inherently purify it. After Fang Jie’s Path energy halted the erosion affecting him, the remaining Honkai energy entered a state of coexistence within his body and became usable internal energy. 5

• Path energy can replenish Fang Jie’s strength, heal injuries, and restore protection against erosion. 5
• Honkai energy can expand the limit of Fang Jie’s internal Path energy after being dissolved and absorbed. 8

Honkai Killer

Fang Jie names his energy-draining technique Honkai Killer. By making contact through a deliberately exposed body part, he creates a point toward which Honkai energy—and other forms of energy—converge. 6
