"Then who's your father? Yamcha?"

"No, my father is Vegeta!"

"Ve... Vegeta? You mean Vegeta and Bulma got together?"

Son Goku was shocked.

"Yes!"

Trunks nodded.

"I see. I thought Bulma would marry Yamcha!"

"No. Uncle Yamcha was just too much of a womanizer, so Mom broke up with him. Later, she saw how lonely Dad was and couldn't help getting together with him. But Dad never married Mom!"

Trunks blushed as he spoke.

"I see. So you came here from the future to find me?"

"That's right. Three years from now, two incredibly powerful Androids will appear on Earth, and they'll both have an unlimited supply of energy!"

"Unlimited energy?"

"That's right. In other words, they'll never run out of energy!"

"Never run out!"

"Mm!"

Trunks nodded.

"They were created by Dr. Gero of the Red Ribbon Army, the same army you defeated back then!"

"The Red Ribbon Army!"

"That's right. After the Red Ribbon Army was destroyed, Dr. Gero continued his Android research and created the two Androids I just mentioned. But Dr. Gero was killed by those two Androids!"

"He was killed by the Androids he created?"

"That's right. Those two Androids are nothing but killing machines. Our future world has become like Hell because of them!"

As Trunks spoke, he couldn't help growing angry.

"So I came here from the future hoping you could defeat them and change the tragic fate of our future world!"

"Okay!"

Son Goku nodded.

"But Trunks, why didn't you look for Gohan?"

"Gohan?"

"Yeah! Gohan's much stronger than I am now!"

"Gohan-ge is stronger than you?"

"Yeah. What's wrong?"

"Nothing. In our future, Gohan-ge only mastered the Super Saiyan form after you died!"

"After I died? Was I killed by those two Androids?"

"No, Mr. Son Goku. You never fought them. You died from the Heart Virus!"

"The Heart Virus?"

"That's right. It's a disease that can't be treated in this era. But twenty years from now, with the development of medicine, someone will make a special medicine that can cure it!"

"Special medicine!"

As he spoke, Trunks took a bottle of medicine out of his clothes.

"This is the special medicine I brought from the future. If you take it, you'll be cured of the Heart Virus!"

Having finished speaking, Trunks immediately handed the medicine to Son Goku.

"Really? Then I can't thank you enough!"

Son Goku took the medicine.

"It's nothing! Oh, Mr. Son Goku, I forgot to tell you earlier: three years from now, the two Androids will appear on a small island nine kilometers south of West City, at around ten o'clock on May 12."

"Ten o'clock on May 12!"

Trunks nodded.

"By the way, Mr. Son Goku, do you know Frieza's father, King Cold?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"Nothing. According to the original history, he should bring Frieza to Earth today to get revenge on you, but I didn't see him when I came here today!"

"Frieza? Wasn't Frieza destroyed by Gohan on Namek?"

With that, the two of them quickly flew over to Son Gohan and the others.

"Dad!"

Son Goku nodded.

"Um, Son Gohan... would you fight me?"

Just then, Trunks suddenly spoke to Son Gohan.

"Fight?"

"That's right!"

As he spoke, Trunks clenched both fists and transformed into a Super Saiyan.

"A Super Saiyan!"

Piccolo was shocked.

He knew Trunks was Vegeta's son, but he hadn't expected him to be able to transform into a Super Saiyan, too.

As Trunks transformed, the Z Fighters on Earth soon sensed his energy.

"Th-that's an incredibly powerful energy! It's a Super Saiyan's energy!"

Vegeta had been training in the Gravity Chamber. The moment he sensed Trunks's energy, he immediately lost interest in training.

"Is... is that the kid from earlier?"

As he spoke, Vegeta immediately left the Gravity Chamber.

On Mount Paozu.

After transforming, Trunks immediately drew in the golden aura around his body.

"Son Gohan, I've already transformed into a Super Saiyan. You should transform into one, too, and fight me!"

"You really want to fight me?"

"Mm!"

Trunks nodded emphatically.

"In that case, come attack me."

Trunks was taken aback.

"Aren't you going to transform into a Super Saiyan?"

"I don't need to transform into a Super Saiyan to beat you!"

"Is that so? Then I'll make the first move!"

As he spoke, Trunks drew the sword from his back.

"Ha!"

With a loud shout, Trunks swung the sword in both hands forward as fast as lightning.

Son Gohan raised his right index finger and stopped the sword as it came slashing toward him.

Trunks was startled. He quickly raised his sword and swung it forward again.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Son Gohan stopped every one of Trunks's attacks with his right index finger.

Seeing this, Trunks lowered his sword and returned to his normal form.

"That was amazing! I didn't expect you to be so much stronger than Mr. Son Goku!"

Son Gohan nodded.

"All right, it's getting late. I should probably head back. Until we meet again!"

Trunks said goodbye to the three of them.

"Okay!"

Son Goku nodded.

Trunks immediately flew off into the distance.

Just after Trunks left, Vegeta appeared in the distant sky and flew down.

"Vegeta!"

Vegeta snorted.

"Son Goku, did a purple-haired guy just come here?"

"Yeah, but he's already left!"

"Did he transform into a Super Saiyan?"

"Mm!"

Son Goku nodded.

"Where did he go?"

"Back."

"Back to the future?"

"So why did he come from the future to find you?"

"Well..."

Son Goku didn't know where to start, and he'd already forgotten a lot of what Trunks had just told him.

"I'll explain!"

Just then, Piccolo spoke up from beside them.
