But time passed quickly. Before they'd even finished eating, one of his subordinates came to report that the elders had all arrived and were waiting at Naka Shrine.
Fugaku stood up to leave, then noticed the worry on Uchiha Mikoto's face.
Fugaku hesitated, but still said something he wouldn't normally have said.
"Don't worry. With me here, the Uchiha Clan will be fine."
"I'll resolve the problems between the village and the Uchiha Clan peacefully."
"You'll be safe, and so will Itachi and Sasuke."
With that, Uchiha Fugaku strode away with firm steps.
