Identity

Shrek was initially known on the Douluo Continent as Shrek Academy, the continent’s foremost academy and a force whose alumni were spread throughout society. The academy was believed to be inseparable from the world itself, with the concept of Shrek designated as the world’s center by Tang. 42 232

Tingyun later identifies Shrek as an unprecedented cosmic disaster: green monsters with two head tentacles that destroy civilizations, assimilate living beings, and spread from world to world. Its ultimate origin remains unknown. 318

On the Douluo Continent, Shrek Academy held the title of the continent’s number one academy. Its Outer Courtyard and Inner Courtyard were separate, with the Inner Courtyard described as its true core. 42 47

The Abyssal Sage King later used the possessed Long Yeyue to influence Shrek Academy from within. He intended to use the academy as the Abyss Plane’s base for invading the Douluo Plane, while publicly justifying his actions as being “for Shrek.” 61 84 151

Shrek’s weakened finances forced it to recruit early and enroll one hundred Work-Study Students, who paid full tuition and worked to cover their living expenses. 112 113 117

Destruction of the Original Academy

After Herta departed for the Star Luo Continent, Qian Gu Dongfeng launched a Twelfth Grade Fixed Soul Guided Cannonball at Shrek Academy. The Abyssal Sage King intercepted a second cannonball while inhabiting Long Yeyue, but the resulting destruction devastated the academy and killed numerous teachers and students. 153

A falling section of Herta Space Station then threatened the ruins. The Blue Silver Emperor absorbed A Yin and the remains of Shrek Academy, while Yun Ming accepted that the academy would not be revived. 155

Shrek’s destruction was later attributed to the self-sacrificing attacks of Chen Xinjie and Qian Gu Dongfeng, who used God-Slaying-level weapons against the Abyss-controlled academy. 225

Creation of the Shrek God Realm

Tang sensed the spirit of Shrek within the Crimson Mother and chose to restore and expand it rather than let the concept disappear. 232

By infusing the Crimson Mother with Shrek’s power and his own bloodline, Tang transformed her into the Shrek Mother. The Crimson Realm became the Shrek God Realm, a force stated to possess more than ten thousand Level 1 Gods, over one hundred God Kings, and the Shrek Mother and Shrek Child beyond the God King level. 238
