Electrolux Awakens

Originally, You Jie had prepared a little gift for Yan Shaozhe, who was likely to come knocking and demand an explanation.

However, all of Yan Shaozhe's astounding wisdom had been devoted to battling the reclusive Fire Dragon Family. He hadn't considered any other possibilities at all—not even going to the Sea God Lake by the outer courtyard to investigate the scene for possible clues.

His dogged approach to the investigation could have driven a whole truckload of Sherlock Holmeses to their graves.

According to a bit of inside information Qian Duoduo had secretly shared with You Jie, Yan Shaozhe had even suspected for a while that the person who injured Ma Xiaotao might have been Wu Feng from Class Nine. In the end, the idea was so absurd that after Mu En gave Yan Shaozhe a thorough dressing-down, the matter was dropped for good.

"Has this guy really lost his mind? If someone like him can become the dean of Shrek Academy, then it looks like Shrek Academy's best days are long behind it..."

You Jie had already anticipated Yan Shaozhe's astonishing wisdom, but when he heard this bit of gossip, he nearly lost it. He was almost crowned the Spitting Douluo.

Wu Feng herself had no idea that Yan Shaozhe thought she could beat Ma Xiaotao like a spinning top.

If she ever found out, she would probably point at herself in utter amazement and say:

"Huh? I beat Ma Xiaotao like a top? For real?"

After that, You Jie's life became quite peaceful.

He cultivated, discussed Soul Tools with Qian Duoduo, and spent time relaxing with Zhang Lexuan.

As the great-grandson of the Sea God Pavilion Master, You Jie's life was this simple and uneventful...

At least, that was what he'd thought—until one day, the wisp of divine consciousness belonging to Electrolux in You Jie's Sea of Consciousness suddenly stirred.

You Jie had been meditating in his dorm room when the Dragon Marks on both his arms began to glow again. His consciousness was pulled into his Sea of Consciousness.

Now, besides You Jie himself and Junk Synchron and Dark Resonator, who stood not far away, there was also an old white-haired man with a deeply lined face.

When the old man saw You Jie appear, he smiled warmly and nodded to him.

"I never expected my luck to be so good. I, Electrolux, have actually met a human with such a remarkably unusual Dragon Power.

"Thank you for taking care of me, You Jie."

"Elder, you..."

If You Jie remembered correctly, in the original story, Electrolux hadn't been able to take human form in the Sea of Consciousness until Prisoner Huo fused with that piece of Life Gold. Before then, he'd been nothing but a gray mass.

Though he could still forcefully take over and fight in Huo Yuhao's place, there wasn't much else he could do. Merely purifying the Spirit-Devouring Evil Blade had nearly exhausted all his power.

But now, Electrolux didn't feel so weak to You Jie. He could even condense a human form and speak with him.

He felt just like Electrolux in the original story after Prisoner Huo fused with the Life Gold.

"Thanks to the Dragon Power within you, my fragment of divine consciousness has stabilized. That's why I can speak with you like this now."

Oh, so it was the Red Dragon's power? In that case, no problem!

After hearing Electrolux's explanation, You Jie immediately felt much more at ease.

As the true powerhouse behind the protagonist group of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5DS, the Red Dragon's power was indeed mysterious and mighty. Stabilizing Electrolux's fragment of divine consciousness was naturally well within its capabilities.

And judging by the looks of it, the Red Dragon's power also kept Electrolux from reading You Jie's memories.

Otherwise, after learning about the original story's events, You Jie was certain Electrolux wouldn't be nearly so calm.

After all, his title in the original story had been the Holy Necromancer, the Scourge of the Undead.

If he learned how Tang San had dealt with Electrolux—and with Electrolux's promising student Huo Yuhao back then—Electrolux would most likely give Tang San a taste of the ultimate humiliation, courtesy of the Undead Demiplane.

With that in mind, You Jie chatted with Electrolux for a little while before his consciousness returned to his body.

Now that Electrolux had awakened, You Jie could try to get his hands on that treasure tainted by the power of an Evil Soul Master.

That's right: the Spirit-Devouring Evil Blade, made from Life Gold.

You Jie had wanted to buy the Spirit-Devouring Evil Blade, which had repeatedly failed to sell at auction, but he had no safe way to purify it. Mu En, Zhang Lexuan, and Qian Duoduo would never have agreed to his plan.

Now, with Electrolux's help, You Jie had all the confidence he needed to purify the Spirit-Devouring Evil Blade.

Purifying the blade would bring You Jie plenty of benefits.

The Life Gold could improve his vitality, strengthen his Sea of Consciousness, reinforce Electrolux's fragment of divine consciousness—and give him an extra layer of protection in the form of Mu En, his great-grandfather. It could do all of that.

"Come to think of it, how did that Evil Soul Master get his hands on such a treasure in the first place? Could he have been like that Golden Hawksbill and worked as a Life Gold miner, sneaking beneath Life Lake in the Star Dou Great Forest, stealing a small piece, then turning tail and running?"

After imagining where that piece of Life Gold might have come from, You Jie returned to his meditation.

Thanks to all the good ideas he'd given Qian Duoduo, You Jie could afford a Light Soul Bone worth nine million five hundred thousand Gold Soul Coins in the original story, just from his share of the Soul Tool Department's profits.

But given how special the Spirit-Devouring Evil Blade was, You Jie didn't intend to wait at the academy for someone else to buy it. He planned to go to Star Luo City himself.

So...

"Jie, I've heard of that Spirit-Devouring Evil Blade. This Ranking Engraving Knife has killed thirty-seven of its owners, and turned nine of them into Evil Soul Masters.

"Are you truly confident you can purify it?"

Inside the Sea God Pavilion, Mu En asked gravely after hearing You Jie's request.

Since this was the infamous Ranking Engraving Knife known as the Spirit-Devouring Evil Blade, Mu En naturally wouldn't let his guard down.

"Yes, great-grandfather."

You Jie nodded, meeting Mu En's eyes with a steady gaze.

"Good. Then I'll accompany you and Lexuan to Star Luo City.

"I've been going to Ming Capital too often lately. A change of scenery in Star Luo City will be nice."

Mu En's casual words left You Jie at a loss for what to say. Could going somewhere really be a change of scenery?

No wonder Mu En was so concerned about the threat posed by Soul Tools. Kong Deming probably had no idea that while they were researching Soul Tools, a Limit Douluo was watching from the shadows.

But Mu En had actually suggested that You Jie bring Zhang Lexuan along. Did that count as using official business to send them on a date?

Or was Mu En planning to use the trip to Star Luo City to let the young couple enjoy the thrill of fighting somewhere new?
