Pot Poison Technique utilizes corpses to rapidly breed venomous insects.
This causes the decaying cells to generate toxic gas, which is then spread via explosions to attack any living creature that comes into contact with the poisonous mist.
Originally, this technique should have required a special barrier to be cast, but for some reason, it had become an instant-cast skill.
Seeing the corpse decompose at a speed visible to the naked eye, Chen did not hesitate to use Flash Step to put some distance between them, immediately vanishing from sight.
"Damn it, was that the Flying Thunder God?"
Aburame Torune could not be certain if what Chen used was indeed the Flying Thunder God, but such a rapid escape left him in a very awkward position.
After all, those micro-venomous insects could not attack from a distance, and he was too worried about a sneak attack from Chen to dare deactivate his forbidden technique.
Although Aburame Torune would not be infected by his own insects, maintaining this forbidden technique required chakra.
For a time, both sides seemed to be testing each other's patience.
"What exactly is going on? How did this technique become instant-cast? System, did you mess with something?"
"Tch, I can't be bothered to do such things.
I have told you many times, although this world is indeed the Naruto World, your arrival has already caused many changes.
These changes are not limited to events you are familiar with; they also include ninjutsu and people, so your so-called experience can only serve as an aid, not the absolute truth."
The system spoke up to explain, and Chen let out a helpless sigh.
Aburame Torune clearly had to be dealt with; Chen did not want to be targeted by Danzo at this time.
However, Chen did not have the Sharingan right now and could not see if those micro-venomous insects were present.
As time ticked by, Aburame Torune seemed to retract his insects and began to cautiously head toward Konoha.
Is he really retracting them, or is it a trap?
Chen could not make up his mind for a moment, and after hesitating, he sent a Shadow Clone to lead the charge.
"Fire Release, Great Fireball Technique!"
The moment the Shadow Clone rushed toward Aburame Torune, it unleashed the Great Fireball Technique, while Chen, watching from afar, kept his eyes locked on Aburame Torune.
Sure enough, something near Aburame Torune faintly blocked the flames.
However, Aburame Torune was clearly trying to lure Chen closer, deliberately pretending there were no insects around while dodging in a flustered manner.
"Fire Release, Flame Bullet!"
The Shadow Clone attacked again, simultaneously firing a large number of kunai.
Seeing the kunai appear, Aburame Torune revealed a faint, imperceptible smile, clearly convinced that Chen had fallen for the trap.
Yet, the next second, what awaited him was not Chen appearing via the Flying Thunder God, but an incredibly large quantity of Explosive Tags.
Violent explosions rang out one after another, lasting for a full minute.
With hundreds of Explosive Tags detonating, it was unlikely that even Aburame Torune could block them, despite the defense of his venomous insects.
"No wonder Konan collects so many Explosive Tags; watching these explosions is actually quite satisfying.
Though it is also quite expensive.
Poor Kakuzu, I wonder what he would think if he knew all the money he earned had been turned into Explosive Tags—would he rise from the dead?"
Chen muttered to himself as Aburame Torune was blown to pieces.
"Ding, system notification: Assassination of Root member mission completed.
Evaluating mission...
Mission evaluation complete. Received mission reward: XX Transformation Potion, Wind Release, Great Breakthrough, Basic Taijutsu leveled up to LV3."
Hearing the mission rewards, Chen was fairly satisfied; as for the potion with the mosaic, Chen automatically ignored it.
After all, it would be strange if this system didn't come up with some nonsensical items.
Having dealt with the enemy, Chen immediately returned to his home in Konoha.
After all, he did not want to be suspected over such a trivial matter.
Back home, someone soon found Chen.
"Chen, was it you who did that to Sasuke?"
The people who came to find Chen were none other than Shisui and Itachi, and Itachi looked quite displeased at the moment.
"Uh, Itachi, I don't think there's any way to force Sasuke into something like that, right?
Instead of being annoyed with him, why not try to accept it? After all, it was Sasuke's own choice."
Chen certainly wouldn't admit to such a thing, and as for Sasuke—bullying him was indeed quite interesting; who told that guy to always think he was hot stuff?
"This... sigh."
Itachi sighed helplessly. In his view, if it was truly something Sasuke liked, even as his older brother, it seemed he had no right to interfere.
"Itachi, although you have to keep things hidden from that Masked Man, you really should tell Izumi about your act."
"I don't want to drag her into this. That man gives me a very bad feeling, and I fear that his bizarre space-time ability makes him nearly impossible to kill."
"That may be true, but Uchiha Izumi carries the name Uchiha Clan; no matter what, she will be dragged into this eventually. I think you and Shisui understand the village's attitude toward the Uchiha Clan better than I do."
Hearing this, both Shisui and Itachi's expressions darkened.
Because of the schemes Danzo was orchestrating in the shadows, the conflict between the village's upper echelons and the Uchiha Clan was growing ever more intense.
Although they had not yet reached the point of tearing off the mask, the air was already thick with the scent of gunpowder.
"Chen is right; none of us can escape this whirlpool. Itachi, let's discuss things together from now on. I believe that if Uchiha Izumi finds out, she will keep our secrets."
Shisui also chimed in to persuade him, and seeing this, Itachi nodded.
Witnessing this scene, Chen was truly speechless. He had previously tried to persuade Itachi using letters, but it had been completely ineffective.
Now, Shisui had settled it with a single sentence, and Chen really began to suspect there was some unspeakable secret between these two.
"Shisui, Itachi, I think we need to prepare in advance. I intend to have Uchiha Izumi leave Konoha first."
"Leave? But... how do you intend for her to leave? I recall you saying that the method you used to leave Konoha cannot be applied to others."
Shisui was somewhat puzzled. While he did not oppose letting Uchiha Izumi leave first, doing so rashly was clearly not a wise move.
"It's simple: just walk out in broad daylight. Have Uchiha Izumi apply for early graduation, and then you, Shisui, can serve as her jonin instructor. When a battle inevitably breaks out, Uchiha Izumi can be reported as killed in action with no body recovered. Wouldn't that work?"
In Chen's view, there was no need for a ninja's defection to become common knowledge; it was far better to fake a death and then go into hiding.
Of course, this would certainly require someone to cooperate.
"Isn't the risk a bit too high? If we are leading someone to their death, not only are we sacrificing an extra person, but it is also easy to arouse suspicion."
"It won't. Just have Itachi become your student. Since Itachi is currently in a temporary squad anyway, you can take him along, add another unlucky soul, or even let someone connected to Root join your team. That way, when an Uchiha Izumi dies, the cannon fodder dies as well, and the people behind it won't be able to say anything. Besides, with you and Itachi there, as long as you sustain some injuries, no one will question a thing."
