Grandmaster Secret Realm

The Dragon Maiden created and controlled the Grandmaster Secret Realm centered on the Scarlet Gold Hall. Its trials tested Dao heart, innate foundation, and comprehension, repeatedly cycling when no Post-Heaven cultivator met her standards. She remained within as a remnant soul until six candidates reached the inheritance palace. 200

The realm's repeated reversals also restored her remnant soul and replenished the Age-Reversing Primordial Sand. Although the damaged formation indicated roughly a hundred cycles, she subjectively remembered little more than a short sleep after arranging it. Countless inheritance seekers had entered and perished during those cycles. 200

Her former pocket heaven possessed a treasury amassed on the scale of nations, including immense quantities of pills, spirit herbs, manuals, and treasures. More vast than a star, the Secret Realm had supported ten billion inhabitants working within it at its height. 217

She also established karmic links across the Universe Realm and used collected national fortune as part of her preparations to return to the world. 210

Search for a Vessel

Upon awakening, the Dragon Maiden assessed the six candidates through her divine senses. She initially favored Wei Wanxi's [Dao Heart Clarity] as a vessel suitable for breaking through the Martial Saint bottleneck, while viewing Ye Li's unusually developed body as a valuable alternative. 201

Ye Li's rapid comprehension of the Weapon-Limiting Mystic Art and the revelation of his many traits changed her priorities. She decided that his body and trait-bearing soul were the most desirable target for her twin-born possession method. 202 208 209

To retain control over both candidates, she secretly empowered Wei Wanxi's cultivation of the Heavenheart Self-Will Art and implanted a hidden restriction intended to make her unable to resist a cultivator of the Azure Dragon Deliverance Method. 203

Her method required fulfilling the intended host's obsession before possession. She therefore manipulated the encounters between Ye Li and Wei Wanxi, trying to satisfy their mutually focused obsessions while concealing the true purpose of the inheritance trials. The cultivation arts offered to the candidates also served her scheme: because she had studied them herself, their cultivation increased the overlap between her and the prospective host. 201 203 204 205

Failed Possession and Soul Bond

The Dragon Maiden activated the Heaven-Stealing Day-Swapping Grand Formation, intending to erase Ye Li's will and seize his body while the Age-Reversing Primordial Sand temporarily restored her power. 210 211

Ye Li reflected her possession attempt with [Enemy and Self Share the Same Origin] and used the resulting chaos to invade her original body instead. The two fought across their exchanged bodies and souls as the sand regressed the Dragon Maiden's realm. 211 212

Her attempt ultimately failed. Ye Li's manifested Post-Heaven and Body Tempering realms defeated her remnant soul, initially leaving the two conjugately bound: if either died, the other would also perish. 214 215

After Ye Li joined the Immortal Sect, Yun Huanzi sought to remove the Twinborn Slave Mark. Elder Shen offered to divide it instead, preserving the Dragon Maiden while placing her under Ye Li's command. Following this intervention, Ye Li alone controlled the Slave Seal and could use it to punish her. 235 237

A later account reveals that Shen Qinglian had secretly followed the candidates into the Grotto-Heaven and observed the failed possession. She was prepared to rescue Ye Li and rewrite the Dragon Maiden's memories if necessary, but Ye Li overcame the attempt himself. Shen Qinglian subsequently collected Age-Reversing Primordial Sand as the Grotto-Heaven collapsed. 390

Later Recovery

After the failed possession, the Dragon Maiden became an unwilling but valuable source of cultivation knowledge for Ye Li. She explained the Universe Realm, trait advancement, Grandmaster-level techniques, and the requirements for returning from other worlds. 219 237 320

During Ye Li's confrontation with the Daqing Emperor, she explained that his remaining lifespan limited the Karma Calamity-Fate Saber's power. She then used Age-Reversing Primordial Sand to restore him to his earlier condition and replenish his lifespan to its three-hundred-year limit, enabling his final attack. 280

Her soul was damaged during Ye Li's passage through the void and fell dormant in the Scarlet Gold Hall. Ye Li later repaired her fractured soul with spirit-nourishing methods, awakening her after roughly three months. 283 320

Following their return to the Immortal Sect, Yun Huanzi supplied Grandmaster-grade soul materials that restored the Dragon Maiden's soul foundation to its former strength. His earlier distrust had eased because of her contributions during Ye Li's journey through the Martial Arts World. 340

Return to the Eastern Sea

As a Dragon Clan Grandmaster with an Epic bloodline, the Dragon Maiden had personally undergone the Dragon Transformation Pool's refinement upon reaching Complete Xiantian. When Ye Li received an opportunity to enter it, she enthusiastically explained its benefits, including purifying his foundation and strengthening the effects produced by the Azure Dragon Deliverance Method. 362

At the Eastern Sea Dragon Palace, Ao Ying recognized her within Ye Li and addressed her as Ao Huan. The Dragon Maiden emerged to greet her respectfully as “Aunt Ao Ying” and silently accepted her rebuke over the failed possession. 367

She remained tense in the Dragon Venerable's presence and rejected Ye Li's impression that he was simply benevolent. Despite her familiarity with Dragon Clan history, she did not know the effect of his Legendary bloodline ability and could not recall any record of him fighting. She also knew little about Ao Li, whose life had scarcely overlapped with her own before her death. 368 369

Conflict with Ye Li's Realm Personifications

When Ye Li questioned his four realm personifications about perfecting the Azure Dragon Deliverance Method's eighth layer, they told him that he must become its sole cultivator and urged him to begin by killing the Dragon Maiden. She emerged from hiding to protest, accusing them of using his cultivation as an excuse to eliminate her. 377

Ye Li refused to sacrifice her or slaughter the technique's other cultivators. The Dragon Maiden pointed out that she could change cultivation methods instead. Ye Li ultimately distracted the hostile realm personifications, giving her an opportunity to escape their attention. 377
