Sasuke would always follow through on things he had promised to do himself.
The fish caught just moments ago were enough for him and his teacher, but with an extra adult present, he needed to catch a few more.
Under Naruto's envious gaze, he continued to spear fish with his Kunai, landing one with every strike.
Jiraiya watched as Naruto used a battered, worn-out Kunai to gut the fish, and he felt a pang of heartache.
This Kunai was an old one that Naruto had only been able to afford after saving up money for a very long time.
Uchiha Gin pulled out a scroll and unrolled it, then selected a seal marked with the character for "food" to release it.
Immediately, over a dozen types of seasonings materialized from the scroll, items preserved through space-time sealing techniques.
"So amazing!"
Naruto had never seen anything like it, his expression one of pure shock.
Even Jiraiya was surprised; scrolls capable of such sealing were not cheap, yet this one was being used to store seasonings!
"Try it yourself. See what flavors you like and sprinkle them on the fish."
Uchiha Gin gestured for Naruto to go ahead.
At the same time, he began to process the fish Sasuke had caught, his movements far faster than Naruto's; with a few casual flicks of his Kunai, he removed the scales and gutted the fish entirely.
When Sasuke returned with five more fish, Uchiha Gin processed those as well.
Naruto was extremely cautious when using the seasonings, but when he tasted the Uchiha Special Sweet and Spicy Sauce, his eyes widened—he had never tasted anything so delicious—and he carefully brushed the seasoning onto his own catch.
Then came the crackling sound of the firewood and the intoxicating aroma wafting from the fish.
Both Sasuke and Naruto stared intently at the fish; one was exhausted from long training and starving, while the other had spent all his money and was equally famished, leaving neither with any interest in conversation.
Jiraiya sat to the side, also drawn in by the fragrance; he knew it wasn't the fish that was special, but the seasonings.
"Alright, let's eat."
Uchiha Gin said.
In his eyes, the fish meat and skin had reached the perfect state.
Sasuke and Naruto didn't hesitate, each grabbing their own fish and digging in.
Uchiha Gin picked up a fish and began to savor it slowly, while Jiraiya, acting as if nothing were amiss and without a shred of embarrassment, picked up a skewer of fish and started eating. For a while, no one spoke, all of them focused on devouring the fish.
Naruto finished his two fish quickly, but still felt a bit hungry, or perhaps he was simply lured by the lingering scent. Sasuke noticed Naruto's gluttonous look and, despite a sneer of disdain, handed him another fish. Naruto looked surprised, as if asking, "Is this for me?"
Sasuke simply rolled his eyes, and Naruto immediately took it, flashing a genuine smile before diving back in.
"Thanks a lot. I thought I was going to go hungry today."
Watching Naruto like this, Jiraiya felt a mix of bitterness, relief, and sorrow.
However, he wasn't just here to keep an eye on Naruto; he also wanted to make contact with Uchiha Gin to gauge the level of danger this guy posed.
"Mister, you must be a wandering street performer, right? Is your technique so bad that you couldn't make any money in the village?"
Before Uchiha Gin could speak, Sasuke asked out of curiosity.
"Huh? A street performer!"
Naruto looked stunned, then turned his curious gaze toward Jiraiya, eager to see what kind of tricks the man might perform.
"?"
Jiraiya was full of question marks.
"I am a powerful ninja, known throughout the ninja world as one of the Three Legendary Sannin, the Toad Sage of Mount Myōboku—Lord Jiraiya himself!"
Seeing himself looked down upon by children, Jiraiya dropped the act and struck a flamboyant pose, as if to display his majesty.
"Clap, clap, clap!"
"That move looked pretty cool!"
Naruto applauded with great enthusiasm.
Sasuke, however, had an "as I expected" expression, thinking the performance was complete trash.
Jiraiya nearly stumbled, his expression turning speechless as he looked toward Uchiha Gin, hoping he would vouch for him.
"Mm, he's right, he is very strong."
Uchiha Gin said dismissively.
He had no interest in chatting with an old pervert. After speaking, he yawned; he intended to take a nap in the afternoon. This was part of the Turtle Hermit Style training—when it was time to train, you trained, and when it was time to rest, you rested.
Jiraiya was annoyed, feeling he had been brushed off.
"Ah, is he really a ninja?"
Naruto naturally trusted Uchiha Gin, but he still looked at Jiraiya with suspicion.
"A very powerful ninja!"
Jiraiya said, enunciating every word with seriousness.
"That's all for today. Go back and take a nap, we'll continue tomorrow morning."
Uchiha Gin said to Sasuke.
Sasuke nodded; he also felt his body was exhausted, and after a full meal, he was indeed very sleepy.
Then, Uchiha Gin took Sasuke and left.
Naruto watched the two of them leave with envy.
"What's wrong? Are you envious that that kid gets to train?"
Jiraiya squatted down beside Naruto and asked him.
"Yeah, of course!"
"If I start training early, I can become a ninja sooner!"
Although Naruto said that.
What he envied most, however, was the relationship between Sasuke and Uchiha Gin.
"How about this? As long as you're responsible for grilling fish for me from now on, I can teach you how to train too!"
Jiraiya said to Naruto in a seductive tone.
Naruto showed a surprised expression upon hearing this, but it quickly vanished, and he looked at Jiraiya with some suspicion.
"You really are a ninja, right?"
Naruto asked again.
"Then let me show you my strength!"
Jiraiya stood up, annoyed, and then directly opened his hand. A ball of blue light emerged in his palm, leaving Naruto stunned.
"This technique is called the Rasengan!"
While explaining, Jiraiya slammed the Rasengan directly into a nearby tree, easily snapping it in half.
"So amazing!"
Naruto's eyes flashed with excitement.
"Can you really guide me in training ninjutsu?"
Naruto couldn't help but ask.
"Of course!"
"Under my guidance, you'll be even stronger than that brat from the Uchiha clan."
Jiraiya said with great confidence.
He then successfully tricked Naruto into learning from him.
He didn't have much interest in whether he became the Hokage or not, but Minato and Kushina's child... he had to take good care of him!
Uchiha Gin, who had left, naturally didn't know what had happened between Jiraiya and Naruto.
In the afternoon, his Shadow Clone still had to go on patrol, and while he was at it, he went to the Ninja Tool Development Department to select the first batch of Scientific Ninja Tool to be mass-produced. Finally, he chose two types of Chakra Blade: Fire-style and Lightning-style.
The chakra conversion rate was less than 50 percent, and under high-frequency combat, they could only last for fifteen minutes at most. At the same time, the retail price was set at 150,000 yen, far lower than the previous 1,000,000 yen. The material cost was less than 50,000 yen, and the labor costs for development and manufacturing could be reduced as the production volume increased.
After this plan was released, many people finally understood the reason for doing so. The gap between one million and 150,000 was huge, allowing many who couldn't afford it before to buy one. It was estimated that several thousand could be sold in a year, and after deducting all costs, they could earn about 100 million yen.
Many R&D personnel were willing to use their salaries to buy one, mainly the lightning-style ones. The Military Police Force within the Uchiha clan would also purchase them, and at the same time, Orochimaru would use funds from Root to buy them, which directly solved the production volume for the first few hundred units.
However, these were all based on the premise of only selling within Konoha. If they could sell to some small ninja villages outside, they could earn even more, not to mention that there were other Scientific Ninja Tool that hadn't been manufactured yet. When Fugaku saw the hope of recouping the costs, his face wrinkled with a smile.
The next day, Uchiha Gin brought Sasuke over early in the morning to train.
The morning was for warming up, doing some physical training, starting at six o'clock.
He had Sasuke use chakra to stick to a tree branch while hanging upside down, and at the same time, he had to do sit-ups with five-pound weighted wristbands on each hand, training his body while simultaneously training his continuous chakra adhesion.
When Jiraiya arrived with Naruto, this was the scene they saw.
"To be able to do this at such a young age!"
Seeing Sasuke's training, Jiraiya showed an expression of surprise.
After all, at that age, he was still slacking off and couldn't even refine chakra yet.
"?"
Uchiha Gin looked at the two who had suddenly appeared with confusion.
He soon understood what Jiraiya was planning to do: guide Naruto in his training while using Sasuke as a target.
It was boring, but it was indeed a very effective method.
Ignoring them, Uchiha Gin only focused on Sasuke's situation, and his main body at home hadn't stopped training either; his Shadow Clone was only responsible for the tasks assigned to it by the main body.
"Sage, when will I be able to do that!"
Naruto was very excited on his first day of training and asked Jiraiya.
"Uh... it might take a while to train first. Today, let's start with the first step: how to extract chakra..."
Jiraiya felt that what he had said yesterday seemed difficult to achieve; this Uchiha brat appeared to be a genius, just like Orochimaru.
"Alright, so how should I train?"
Naruto nodded, looking like a curious child.
After training for half an hour, Sasuke climbed down from the tree and, under the guidance of Uchiha Gin, began to practice Lightning Style: Lightning Ball. Sasuke listened intently to Uchiha Gin's instructions, memorizing the hand signs as well as the flow of chakra.
Next, Sasuke began to attempt it, asking Uchiha Gin about the parts he didn't understand or couldn't perform.
About an hour later, Sasuke successfully released one Lightning Ball, though to complete this technique, one had to release at least three at a time.
"Well done."
Uchiha Gin praised him.
Sasuke also smiled. Every morning he trained with his teacher, rested in the afternoon, and then after his brother returned, Itachi would accompany him in Shuriken practice.
Although these days were very tough, he could persevere.
"Rest for half an hour, then we'll begin combat training."
Uchiha Gin arranged the next task.
"Mm!"
Sasuke replied, while still recalling the Lightning Style: Lightning Ball jutsu in his mind.
After the break ended, just as Uchiha Gin was preparing to instruct Sasuke, Jiraiya walked over.
"As a thank you for treating me to fish yesterday, I can be your sparring partner. How about it?"
Jiraiya volunteered.
In truth, he wanted to probe Sasuke's bottom line to see how large the gap was between him and Naruto, so he could arrange targeted training.
Uchiha Gin saw through Jiraiya's shameless intentions at a glance.
