Background
Gin transmigrated into the Naruto world with the Magician Teaching System. Though initially detached from the Uchiha Clan, he became committed to its survival because his body's grandfather—the Great Elder—had cared for and funded his expensive magical studies. Before dying two years earlier, the Great Elder received Gin's promise that he would restore Uchiha glory. 1
He regards the Uchiha's post–Nine-Tails Incident marginalization as a path toward eventual extermination. Rather than support either the conciliatory Doves or impractical Hawks, Gin calls himself a Reformist: he seeks to strengthen the clan through political leverage, scientific development, commerce, and controlled intimidation rather than immediate rebellion. 2 7
Gin chooses Orochimaru as his preferred Hokage candidate because Orochimaru values science, lacks the established anti-@@REF_ENTITY_12088672@@ prejudice of Konoha's leadership, and can support Gin's long-term research into Uchiha-Senju genetics and the Rinnegan. 1 6
Appearance
Gin appears sickly while clothed but has a sturdy, muscular body with defined abdominal muscles. He is conspicuous among the Uchiha due to his silver hair and usually white attire. 1
- Silver hair, rare within the Uchiha Clan. 1
- Usually wears a knee-length white striped robe with black trousers, modeled after Warring States-era Uchiha clothing without armor. 1
- His appearance is compared to Ichimaru Gin in a captain's uniform, except for the eyes. 1
- Often purchases and wears flamboyant jewelry, partly for magical materials and partly as a public display of wealth. 1 29
- Later wears the Five Origins Mystic Code: a mithril-and-gemstone combat suit covering his chest and limbs. 49
Personality
Gin is calculating, ambitious, and intensely pragmatic. He views political goodwill without strength as ineffective, choosing to make Konoha fear the Uchiha rather than wait for its leadership to offer concessions. He explicitly accepts the role of villain if it protects the clan. 7
His loyalty is primarily to the Uchiha Clan rather than Konoha. He is willing to deceive allies, exploit political crises, pressure clan leaders, frame opponents, and use painful genjutsu to reach his goals. However, this ruthlessness is tied to his desire to avert the Uchiha massacre and preserve ordinary clansmen. 1 4 25
Gin is also deeply enthusiastic about magic, science, and impressive-looking equipment. He values research talent, recruits capable people into his projects, and pursues wealth as a means to finance magical study and clan development. 1 6 30 49
Abilities & Skills
Mangekyō Sharingan
Gin's Mangekyō Sharingan grants him a silver-white Susanoo and two distinct ocular techniques. Its blindness drawback is removed after the eyes are refined into Mystic Eyes powered by magic. 2 16
- Can manifest a skeletal Susanoo arm for defense and offense. 2
- Uses the Sharingan to track chakra, perceive high-speed taijutsu, and assist Sasuke's chakra training. 17 33
- Sustains Mangekyō use without the usual blindness after magical refinement. 16
Five-Sense Genjutsu
Gin's left Mangekyō eye controls a target's five senses, an ability he compares to Illusion. 18
- Can immobilize and incapacitate opponents before they activate poison-based suicide measures. 18
- Requires continual maintenance and consumes chakra. 18
- Has a single-target range limitation. 18
- Uses advanced illusion techniques to explain information directly through virtual experiences. 3
- Developed a punitive genjutsu that makes a target experience conception through childbirth and its pain within one minute. 4
Precognition
Gin's right Mangekyō eye lets him see up to ten seconds into the future. 18
- Can be maintained for up to sixty consecutive seconds. 18
- Recovers at a one-to-one ratio: each second of rest restores one second of future sight. 18
- Lets him anticipate attacks, counter ambushes, and fight opponents above his normal level. 18 19
- Helps compensate for the Five Origins armor's slow transformation and weak physical defense. 49
Susanoo
Gin's Susanoo is silver-white and initially manifests as skeletal constructs. 2
- Blocked Fugaku's blue skeletal Susanoo arm within a sound-isolating barrier. 2
- Prevented Orochimaru from killing him during their first meeting. 5
Magic and Magecraft
Gin possesses the Magician Teaching System and uses gemstones, magical circuits, spell formulas, and Mystic Codes. 1 14 49
- Converts magical power into the energy source for his Mystic Eyes. 16
- Uses gemstones as chakra and magical-energy reserves; two gems can each contain chakra equivalent to his full reserves. 5
- Creates barriers, including a protected gemstone vault and sound-isolation barriers. 2 14
- Seeks to absorb natural energy as an external magical-energy source. 49
Taijutsu and Physical Conditioning
Gin trains his body extensively and spars with Might Guy to improve his close-quarters ability. 11 33
- Performs weighted handstands with thirty-kilogram weights attached to each foot. 11
- Can contend with Guy while using Sharingan prediction, though Guy's Fifth Gate strength exceeds his physical durability. 33
- Uses Lightning Release to stimulate cellular activation and continue physical improvement. 43
Lightning Release
Gin channels Lightning Release through weapons and his own body. 17 43
- Throws lightning-charged kunai with altered mid-flight trajectories. 17
- Uses Lightning Release to stimulate his cells for physical enhancement. 43
Strategy, Politics, and Intelligence
Gin consistently uses misdirection, pressure, information control, and institutional reform to alter Konoha's balance of power. 5 12 13
- Provokes Danzō to create openings for covert operations. 5
- Frames Akatsuki for infiltrating Root and uses the resulting crisis to pressure Konoha. 7
- Helps remove Danzō from Root and enables Orochimaru to take control of the organization. 12 13
- Openly permits infiltration of his research operations to turn Konoha's surveillance into a manageable, predictable threat. 31
- Organizes scientific-ninja-tool development, recruits specialists, and creates profitable commercial products. 14 30 32
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Blue Star — A sapphire-controlled crow familiar. It can transmit messages, deliver letters, cast its inscribed spells, and share its perspective with Gin; it requires periodic magical-energy replenishment. 14
- Guardian Gems — Portable gemstone barriers that activate automatically against ninjutsu within three meters or objects moving faster than ten meters per second; they can also be manually activated. 43
- Chakra Armor — Scientific Ninja Tool armor with wings that allows flight; Gin uses it to leave accompanying Anbu behind. 34 35 50
- Mystic Code: Five Origins — Mithril-and-gemstone combat armor. Its feet correspond to Earth and Water, its hands to Fire and Wind, and its chest to Void; it amplifies five-element magic and provides strong magical resistance. 49
- Izanagi scroll — A Uchiha forbidden technique Gin gives to Shisui and later supports teaching across the clan for self-defense. 3 9
- Impure World Reincarnation Jutsu — Shared with Gin by Orochimaru; Gin intends to test its use in familiar-control experiments. 30

Trivia
- Gin is eighteen at the start of the story but has seniority equivalent to Fugaku's uncle's generation due to his lineage as the Great Elder's grandson. 1
- He was only a Chūnin when introduced despite his clan status and exceptional Sharingan potential. 1
- Gin's interest in gemstones is both magical and practical: they serve as expensive materials, energy stores, and components for familiars and Mystic Codes. 1 5 14
- He considers a familiar made from Uchiha Madara's Rinnegan or a Tailed Beast to be an ideal future familiar. 11
- He declines Fugaku's offer of clan leadership because he sees no practical benefit in the title. 21
