Background / History
Thunder Dragon Fighter
Chen Chong was taken from Lichuan to No. 97 Settlement and placed in Thunder Dragon's brutal fighter system. As a Warm-up Fighter, he trained under Yu Feng while facing the prospect of lethal ring matches. His exceptional comprehension let him memorize the Combat Drill within days, while his physical adaptability allowed him to progress far faster than the other trainees. 9 102
He concealed the Food Healing ability that let him train two to three hours daily beyond the visible routine. After activating Devour, he rapidly developed from a malnourished youth into an Official Fighter-level combatant. 11 12
Chen Chong's first kill, Zhang Yao, brought him attention from Thunder Dragon management. He subsequently defeated Li Jun, earned access to better food and training facilities, and received personal instruction in Combat Technique from Yu Feng. 18 24 25
Contracted Fighter and Bar Street Champion
After reaching the First Realm, Chen Chong became an assistant instructor and entered Thunder Dragon's contracted-fighter hierarchy. He rejected recruitment by the West Court's competing factions, then defeated multiple Level 1 Fighters in succession during internal selection. 48 53 60 62
He adopted the ring name Immovable Wisdom King before fighting at Blood Skull. His victory over Valkyrie made him Bar Street's number-one fighter and established him as a celebrated boxing champion. 67 76
Break with Thunder Dragon
Chen Chong's growing strength drew him into Thunder Dragon's internal conflicts. He killed Yu Feng in their arranged ring fight, later fought and killed Long Zhibin, and refused to take direct control of Thunder Dragon; Wang Li was instead chosen to represent him in its affairs. 103 111
After escaping Thunder Dragon, he joined Blood Skull temporarily and offered positions to fighters of the Chen surname or those in the Second Realm. 108
Return to Lichuan
Chen Chong returned to Lichuan to find and protect his family. He established the Nine Harmonies Martial Arts Hall, challenged nearby schools to refine his pure technique, and cleared Huilong Street's martial arts halls in a single day. 113 122
He later joined the Green Shirt Society, first as a probationary member and then as an official member after helping hold off Zhou Changquan. He was appointed Director of Operations and received the Wave-Subduing Saber Technique. 141 150 151 152
Appearance
Chen Chong initially appeared frail and undernourished, but cultivation and his First Form transformed him into a sturdy, well-proportioned young man. By his return to Bar Street, he stood about 1.8 meters tall with short hair, regular features, and a calm, restrained gaze. 12 109
- Grew several centimeters taller after activating Devour. 12
- Possesses unusually dense muscles and bones rather than an overtly bulky build. 12 22
- Carries a steady, mountain-like presence that conceals explosive force. 109
- Often appears calm and reserved even during danger or confrontation. 88 109
Personality
Chen Chong is intensely disciplined and growth-oriented. He treats food, medicine, instruction, sparring, and even dangerous opportunities as resources for advancement, repeatedly pushing his training beyond normal limits. 11 65 96
Despite his ruthless conduct in combat, he is protective of people he considers his own. He acts on behalf of Peng Wei after the coach is injured, protects Shen Ying from Yang Zhe's disrespect, and uses favors from the Green Shirt Society to seek treatment for He Xiaoli. 129 141 149
He is cautious about alliances and power structures. He refuses faction recruitment, recognizes traps and manipulation, and avoids taking unnecessary risks unless family, loyalty, or advancement gives him a reason to act. 53 98 126
Abilities & Skills
Food Healing
Chen Chong can use food to recover and sustain unusually long periods of training.
- Secretly extends his Breathing Method practice from roughly one hour to two or three hours per day. 11
- Allows rapid recovery from injuries when supported by sufficient Nutrient Paste and food. 25
- Requires careful management; he intentionally restricts food intake when he does not want its progress to rise too quickly. 11
First Form — *Devour*
Devour provides the physical foundation for Chen Chong's later combat power.
- Greatly increases bone density, muscular strength, grip strength, speed, reflexes, and durability. 12
- Gives him resilience sufficient to endure heavy blows from Special Grade Fighters. 67
- Supports prolonged combat by storing energy through Gluttony. 62 67
Second Form — *Gluttony*
Chen Chong's Second Form converts stored energy into extreme physical amplification.
- Can be activated at will after reaching full activation. 51
- At 29% Third Form progress, its maximum amplification reaches 70%, enabling punching force above 1,700 kg. 51
- Full activation consumes immense energy and leaves him severely hungry after genuine combat. 93
- Can be forced to 200% through Feast for a decisive burst. 110
Phoenix Trait and Phoenix Speed
The Phoenix Trait supplements Chen Chong's durability with recovery and explosive movement.
- Rapidly heals injuries, allowing him to remain in high-intensity combat unless killed outright. 85
- Phoenix Speed gives him superhuman movement and combines effectively with his Forms and fist techniques. 93
- Progress in the trait can be increased by certain substances, including the dangerous medicine recovered from a Joyful Buddha monk. 129
Feast
Feast is a high-risk extension of Chen Chong's Second Form.
- If he completes the designated hunt within its duration, he returns to peak condition. 110
- A second activation doubles the energy cost and prevents another immediate use even if the hunt succeeds. 110
- Chen Chong uses it strategically after eating heavily and exhausting his opponent through defense. 110
Breathing Methods
Chen Chong's progression through Breathing Methods drives his physical cultivation.

- Rapidly learns three basic saber forms under Zhu Hang, becoming proficient within days. 136 137
